With how well the Switch 2 ran Resident Evil 9 and Pragmata, are you guys now convinced that it could run GTA 6?

Switch 2 doesn’t ever hold as high of frame rates as Series S and Series S CPU is on par with PS5/X. Switch 2 is not.

nta but it runs considerably better on xss. as in a solid 60 fps vs dipping into the 30's and even the 20's in one section on the switch 2. if we're being honest, capcom should have a second performance mode that looks like the xss on switch 2 so the performance doesn't suffer as much.

Series S can look rougher at times due low internal resolutions and upscaling with FSR/TAA. Switch 2 generally upscales from low resolutions too but DLSS helps it a lot. Switch 2 struggles to hold as high of frame rates generally too.
And yes, GTA 6 would be a challenge for the Switch 2 CPU. Look at Microsoft flight sim, it is very CPU heavy on PS5/Xbox and it is locked to 30fps there

I don't need to. It is well known that they are using expensive rendering techniques. The trailers were a mix of gameplay and cinematics. Digital foundry did a video on it.

It took on those games late into development and didn't take a huge hit graphically or to the release date.
Given how fat back GTA started production, I could buy it running with a few minor things scaled back or turned down.

Look it up. RE4 has much tighter animations and smooth gameplay. The environments are much better and they dont look like some gimped off-scale bullshit. Also RE4 remake has better graphics overall too and better effects.

Context: Borderlands 4, being the unoptimized mess it was, paused development for the Switch 2, as Take2 focuses their efforts on bigger titles. The rumor mill has also said that GTA6 is being tested for Switch 2.

Not for CPU tasks, they don't scale really. You'd be trying to shove tasks that run on a 3.5ghz 8 core/16 thread cpu down to a ~1ghz 8 core cpu. As far as GPU goes, a lot is scalable these days, except for when you are targeting ray traced global illuminations and high quality shadows. And even then, Series S has better memory bandwidth than Switch 2, on top of having roughly PS5 equivalent CPU.
