Tau's fire warriors are heavily nerfed. But some other units were buffed.
Also Necrons(my third favourite faction) gut pretty heavily nerfed without many buffs.

Isn't it something like 50% of 40k players only care about marines? Everyone else is just different flavors of enemies to fight.

>Isn't it something like 50% of 40k players only care about marines?
Yes. The overwhelming majority of plastic players are SM. But I thought that with video games, there would be more people playing the other races. I guess the Space Marine 2 game must have converted over a lot of new players.

>>
>>555012347
Because in their minds, everything ever is political, so by talking about how planets are invaded in Stellaris, Anon OBVIOUSLY is talking about real life invasions of Palestine by the Jooows.
>>
>>555012347
It hits too close to home in regards to the replacement migration of browns into Western countries.
Mere suggestion that someone should not embrace diversity tm, even in vidya form, makes them doubleunplusgood.
>>
>>555007096
People disagree because this post has nothing to do with the problem that was being discussed.

Planets back then could only grow one pop at a time. And the game would always choose the species with the lowest population to grow. So eventually, no matter the factors around it, you would end up with 50/50 demographics. No matter if immigration is closed, or if the minority is slow breeders while the majority is rapid breeders. 20 human pops + 1 alien pop would always turn into a 50/50 split after enough time.
>>
I simply choose not to play games with ayylmaos
>>
Semi-related, how tedious is it to do a genocide run in Stellaris? Wiping out every single alien you encounter, having zero of their population alive as you conquer their planets.
>>
>>555027770
conquering every planet and having to manage them is the tedious part, the genocide is done automatically. if you're a genocidal then you get access to armageddon bombardment which can wipe out a world without invading, but it can be pretty slow
>>
>>555027770
Worst way to play the game. Runner up is full xenophile will a bunch of species management.

>>555044463
You'd have to wait until it's out of early access to try modding it. Then again, there's an editor already in, through I don't think it's as versatile as Warcraft 3.
>>
To put >>555044729 in context, 112 is the default damage. BUT the halberd has a +100% damage against light infantry, and T1 infantry has around 140-150 HP, so... that hastati oneshot everything.
>>
>try another land battle
>rush stables to get early cavalry
>somehow it works and I manage to cripple the enemy economy
I was a fool, all these years. Cavalry IS good, just easily countered, but it can deal terrible, terrible damage.
>>
>Roman Republic medicus can cast "terror"
>"terror" means summoning a bear that lowers enemy defense
Understandable, bears are terrifying.
>>
Fun fact: Ancient War relies on different tiers of units. The Roman Republic has hastatis, Princeps, and Triaria, with every new tier having more HP and better armor.

HOWEVER, by default, the damage output is NOT buffed, meaning that a hastati will deal as much damage as a triaria or even a praetorian.
Henceforth, I give two-handed weapons to my hastati, since the loss of a shield is a massive defense debuff, and hastatis aren't as expensive as princeps.
These guys appear semi-naked, but if you're not careful, they will murderfuck your units.
>>
Mounting an unit on a horse will give it different buffs.
Naturally, they're a lot faster and get a meat shield, BUT they also get a damage bonus, at the price of a lower attack speed. That princeps is given a spear and told to kill, and he does so wonderfully.

All units start at level 0, and can level up to level 3. You can use captives to get experience (if you have built a garrison, then every 5 kills will get you 1 captive that you can then sell or use for XP), with of course low-level infantry getting more experience.

The hardest part of this is probably getting all of the sub equations and coefficients to solve all the 100+ equations. It looks like the authors used a 2D grid that's about the same size as the Civ 4 map size and I have some ideas of how to simplify a lot of it but I think it wouldn't be a huge stretch to get it working with Civ, then it's just a matter of how stable everything is and how interesting the results are to play on

I’ve never played that game mode, but I imagine she would work like this:

4 charges

>Azula’s Coup
Exerts 20 loyalty pressure to free cities and cities at war within 5 tiles.

>Azula’s Inspiration
1 charge. Destroy a friendly adjacent military unit. Military units within 3 tiles gain a promotion.

Not my best game, but definitely the most fun one since 4.0. Lil bit of RP as hedonists who just wanted to shill. Khan broke right into a three way front war and mixed up the north. Scourge got instant slapped, but then war in heaven broke out and they were basically sitting west and east of my borders and the big hivemind southeast didn't feel tagging along. Oh well

how does this compare to pic related? loved this game as a kid but got bogged down in the late game, my ambition was too big and it took too long for the crew to travel between sets shooting my magnum opus, resulting in financial failure.

ironically made by Lionhead Studios.
>>
>>555393324
I know this one was made by Lionhead that's why I choose it for my studio's name. Hollywood Animal is okay. It's still in early access, there's already a lot to do but you are limited to the 30's and 40's I think. You don't actually get to see your movies but on the management and ui side it is a lot better than The Movies. Lionheads ui sucked and it was almost impossible to manage more than 7 actors. In Hollywood Animal it is much easier to manage a lot of staff.
>>
>>555393910
yeah, i loved the movie editing and seeing it all come together in The Movies, it was really fun and satisfying. as an adult i'd be more interested in the management sim. i cannot help but love that art deco aesthetic, honestly the UIs in this game look sexy. i'll give it more time to cook but i like what i see.
>>
>page 10
>>
>>555394449
I found it very frustrating in The Movies when some of your actors have constant tantrums messing up your shedules. This makes other actors just wait at their set doing nothing also getting annoyed. The Movies was just so frustrating sometimes.

I like Seven Kingdoms 2. I love the chain of command in it.
I like Warrior King Battles. I love the formations and ammunition system in it, and how supply works.
I like Deadlock 2. I like the in-universe reason given to having to research everything.
I like Battle for Middle Earth 2. I like killing retarded inbred gobbos and playing dwarves.
I like Act of War. I like prisoners, the varierty of infantry weapons, and the mercs.
I like Company of Heroes. You kill nazis in it. Killing nazis is always a plus in my book.
I like Dawn of War. It got me to fall in love with Warhammer 40000 again after a codex made my Tyranid army obsolete.
I like Rise of Legends. It has some formations, but it also feels big, therefore pleasant to play.
I like Ancient War Sparta for its "RPG on a RTS scale" aspect of it.
I like Darfall for its difficulty.
I like They Are Billions for its appearance and how quickly things can degenerate.
I like Age of Empires 2 for its teutonic knights.
I like Age of Empires 3 for how flexible it is once you understand how cards work.
I like Age of Empires 4 for its attempt at trying new things instead of copying AoE2, some of them work, some don't.
I like Age of Mythology for its PROSTAGMA and how different the factions feel.
I like Battle Realms for its SOVL.
I like D&D Stronghold for its slow, economical system.
I like Stronghold for its SOVL. Same with Crusader.
I like Stronghold Legend for trying to change things, and make every Knight of the Round Table unique.
I like Distant Worlds Universe because I played it once and Steam says I have 8 hours in it please help me.
I like Five Nations for how fighters manage to stay relevant even late game as you get carriers.
I like Godsworn for its unique setting and how hot Saulé is.
I like Halo Wars for its surprisingly good gameplay, and unit banter (flamethrowers going "welcome to hell, ladies").
I like Lord of Magic for its fantasy setting and its music.
I like Silica for its hybrid gameplay.
I like Songs of Co

I bought it on sale and realized they never changed the game lobby options. But also because Titans became the new game enders, and some Titans become busted due to God's myth unit upgrades. But also because Myth Units become the game enders themselves, replacing normal military due to a hidden mechanic with the Wonder, and balance changes of Myth units doing more damage to each other. God powers can be recast, but due to faction imbalance of Favor resource acquisition they are annoyances which makes the Greeks and Chinese overpowered.
Titans don't regenerate HP or can be healed, but some upgrades to allow myth units to self heal effect titans. Those titans of those civs and god groups tend to win the game by Titan stacking.

In the end The Retold version is a Campaign only game.

How does the game balance for some areas being rural vs urban and having more stores and shit
>>
>>555715623
I recall it just having some buildings be empty and more buildings in general meaning more initial zombies in area.
So, doing something like middle of Las Vegas or NYC is gonna be zombie central, but also ludicrously resource rich, while rural areas have surprise caches inside regular houses and less zombos, but in total less resources than some mid-sized or small towns.

>How does the game balance for some areas being rural vs urban and having more stores and shit
NTA, and I'm the one that started playing it.
It seems it doesn't. The game recommends you predefined locations of RL to use. If you ignore it, the game tells you that difficulty may change a lot, and that you know what you are doing.
I almost started the game with my HQ on the seminary that's at top of the nearby hill. Which would have sucked mayor dick.

Day 62. I still have 2 story chapters to do according to the statics window.
What the fuck do I have to do?
My dudes are full gear max stats. Had 200 but I lost a few due to pic-relate. Didn't realize that you need two layers of buildings to actually have them act as a wall.
Anyway I'm spamming the invite people radio message. Have more food, guns and ammo than I know what to do. Then it is going to be a slog.
70 days in and I have already explored the out-of-raio-range tiles for tech books. Working now on improving defences, making rifles, pistols and plate armo. And for some reason plate armor takes days to make. And if I adapt buildings, they are so big that they need around 400~ crates of metal and wood. So I'm making smaller custom wooden buildings.
Will keep making invite broadcasts and letting people reproduce until I hit 500 survivors. Also working on training more squads.
I should probably switch my food production to meat, but it requires even more buildings and I'm chronically short on wood and metal.

Allegedly, the AI only gets a 2 point bonus on brutal.
But the RNG has been huffing paint fumes this whole game. I have gotten more crit fails/successes in this ~8 hour game than I have in dozens of hours in past games on normal. Some turns have been nothing but crits, 5 in a row.

The whole civ 7 situation is absolutely bonkers. I can't decide if it was some kind of worst case game making by comitee situation, if it was 5D galaxy brain giga chess where they preempt the market by making "humankind 2" letting it bomb absolutely knowing that they have money and can still make civ 8 and people will buy or if there was some kind of weird humankind superfan in the office that just wanted to make a humankind but "not shit" (total poopoo instead).
You would think big studios had some kind of backstops in place to prevent stuff like this from happening but apparently not.

It gets worse, the economy is hilariously broken as well. It's basically pointless to make production chains from raw material to finished product and instead it's significantly more profitable and more effective labor allocation to just sell raw material and import the shit you need.

Makes sense given that it's a desert. It's coarse and rough and gets everywhere. Also doubling down on Fleet Command being space jesus was dumb, they're an entire civilization and the Cataclysm spinoff showed that you can write other kiith clans to be super compelling and not have to fall back on the same lineage of cool commander scientist girlbosses like Kharak, 2, and 3.

I'm just an old man not actually that old, but mentally in my unc era as the whipper snappers would say tired of the chosen one trope. If everyone wants to point to Star Wars as the prime example of the hero's journey, I wish they'd pay more attention to the '77 original where Luke is a literal dirt farmer, a nobody who becomes somebody through the course of the story. Sure him becoming the chosen one through the rest of the PT and OT adds nuance, but when fucking everybody's pulling the secret chosen one trope it gets old fast..
>>
>>556213274
Someone commented on a Homeworld video that in Homeworld 1's manual, you never read "human" anywhere. Homeworld 2 shows people being at least humanoid, then Desert of Kharak shows them being human.
...then there's homeworld 3. We don't talk about it.
>>
>>556226942
But Luke never was the Chosen One, that was Anakin.
>>
>>556194667
I had such hopes for 3 after playing desserts.
Was hoping we would get power shunting into the next game too, instead we got homeworld remaster 2 with some mechanics made worse and shittiest story yet.
>>
>>556234479

To sum it up, 1 was more about the journey of the Kushan people as a whole while 3 was more character centric.

I'm assuming you meant to reply to me. No. Simply because you rubber stamp something with the OfficialStamp™ that does not make it canon and I've long since given up pretending it does. When the only thing linking the wannabe Relic(or whatever they choose to call themselves) of today and "Homeworld 3" to anything that came before it is simply the names Relic(or Gearbox I guess) and Homeworld, that means nothing. They inherited something from their betters, and then proved why they are the inferior ones. That does not make it equal to what came before.
