Also, is just me or the game just feels short in comparison to your average Atlus game? Just reached Brilehaven, lv 27 and have all followers minus 3, which I believe will be the future party members, calendar also shows there won't be much til the election happens. I am not saying the game was a failure, it sold fast as fuck during release, but me and a few frens of mine avoided buying because of the current atlus practices, only SH didn't get a re release and that was due to the game being a mess. It's just not feasible to buy if they are hella likely to release it again in 3 to 4 years, specially when the game is so fucking overpriced or they add a whole new chapter to the game.
I only got to try it due to gamepass, and I am enjoying it, it has lots of things that could be added in mainline persona and I appreciate the boldness of the game. But I would never bought before at least five years could pass without a re-release

P5 is the main thing they go for. There are very few metaphor fans in China especially and P5X makes like a million dollars a month from all asian regions so they don't really like it that much and they spent like over a year slowly releasing the p3r characters most of which were flops over there

Insaniax for Nocturne HD took 2 years of development but it finally released recently and it did not disappoint me. Something pretty cool for tonight - the royal palace throne room which like the academy boss map has a good amount of collision. It's impossible to load into the actual map used in the cutscenes and have full control, so I just nabbed the load list and swapped it out with one of the test maps.

You can however open the double doors and walk all the way down to where the last statue the party destroys after Zorba is. The hallway leading to the throne room is comically long on this version and used during the scene with Louis and the king.

Because 99% of the playerbase barely has coding knowledge? Even when modanon explains how to do the same thing he does by yourself you need to do a ton of shit that is already "in-knowledge" by modders and if you go to a persona modding discord for help (because most resources are gatekept by other modders) they'll tell you to go figure it out yourself and continue gatekeeping tools. So if you're not using someone's tool you have to write one from scratch yourself and follow other similar people's mod attempts from other games.

the dragon of the apocalypse which was responsible for the destruction of the old world is handled in a ng+ missable superboss that doesn't really add much of anything (because it's a somewhat imaginary battle), sogne which was the catalyst for the mage academy shutting down is also taken care of, most of whatever could be uncovered in the mage academy like relics or that 'magic can be used by anyone' is already handled by the main story.
I'm not saying they can't pull something out of their asshole and justify adding it in,after all they somehow managed to ruin p4 with mariebut what can even be done though? Like, what? random elda girl sidequest story from the re-release who is the most special somebody?

You can tell a story about any of the multitudes of magic shit still in the world that went without full explanation for one. You can make something largely flashback driven like Episode Shitgis focused on the parents and the party members. Or you can just say you want to make a story about Gallica having an existential crisis. There's not exactly a dearth of things to talk about that have precisely nothing to do with trying to shoehorn a whole dungeon into that part of the main story.

The reason why Hahsino won't rule out a Metaphor rerelease (aside from how they're already working on it) is because the model is way too lucrative for them to abandon. Thank you for continually pointing out that what I'm saying is correct though, yes they put out a financial report and then immediately after that they started testing the waters with aggressive delistings, lower price point upgrade paths etc. for the Yakuza 20th anniversary shitshow and now for Kiwami 3. Again, almost like they looked at games that coincidentally haven't hit more than a single sales milestone and decided they needed to change the expectations for the brand in different ways or something which is in line with what their response to their Q&A actually suggested they were going to try to do.
You have no argument for why Kiwamis or earlier releases of their mainline games with shittier graphics don't count which is why you're staying far away from them like a little bitch. Kiwamis have far more in common even just with what you're narrowly defining as a rerelease to make your argument look better than something like P3R does, they are constantly referred to as the definitive editions of their earlier games which is a big reason why 1&2 HD never came west. Today RGG releases more definitive versions than they do completely new games and they have been since before Yakuza 7 came out. In a lot of ways they pioneered Sega's ports remasters remakes model given Nagoshi's place in the business at the time.
No matter what you do, you can't reconcile low launch sales with definitive editions coming later for Atlus.Unless they were talking about Soul Hackers 2. Did score better than P5R in famitsu.

They used to work because the hidden gimmick to the re-releases was porting them over to the latest new console, and Persona games were playstation exclusives for several years (so they kept jumping from sony console to another sony console).

Custom maps reusing collision from existing objects ingame are sort-of working, problem atm is getting the interaction points to work because the game doesn't just try to load those if they exist by default, and the one place where you get to dictate what extra files get loaded by maps, models, objects etc. isn't where you set this up for some reason.
For custom interiors this isn't so bad because I can just stick a room beneath the rest of an existing map but for a map like this it gets to be more difficult.

Worked out most of the functionality behind the timer which is crucial to what I'm trying to make. It works outside of dungeons too, the problem is though when the timer runs out the game figures out what it needs to do in the same function you use to set the timer length. There are 3 different functions for doing this that let you pass the name of a function that should be in one of 3 different files so the game knows what to run when the timer runs out.
Two of these, the entry and gimmick files, don't get loaded for anything besides dungeon maps, and I can't figure out how to get the game to load these on a normal field, similar to the collision file issue I mentioned in my last post.
The third method SHOULD be pulling a function from the collision script file, but I have no idea what arguments to pass to it. All I know is it takes 2 arguments and I can get the timer to pop up, but it doesn't initialize properly. Of the two instances in the entire game where the timer gets used the game makes use of the entry file function.

I think all of them are mostly constructed species that turned out more or less sucessful. I guess they wanted to make them for war or just to adapt to the new world. Ishika seem a take on making humans that can fly but that failed. Rhoag are maybe a try at stopping aging or immortality that went wrong. Mustari have a great affinity at magla reading so I'd say that was a success. Rouissante do have higher physical prowess so that seems a positive, too. Paripus seem similar but they seem more like a take on making a slave race that you just use for menial labour. Nidia are maybe a take on espionage to charm and seduce people which seems to have worked but the child form must be a mistake. Eugief were maybe a further take on making people be able to fly and agile but they sure pushed that too far with the bat genes. Clemar seem very average I'm not quiet sure what the intent was there maybe more of a light upgrade to ability in power and intellect.

What are the odds that Metaphor Refantazio gets an expanded release in the same vein as the Persona or SMT games? I'd love to play this game, but goddamn do I not want to redo a game that according to HowLongToBeat.com takes roughly 88 hours for you to finish the main story AND side content. I made that mistake with Persona 5. Loved it, but then Persona 5 Royal came out and I saw that I couldn't transfer my P5 save file to P5R. I was not going to redo all of that from scratch, so I just ended up watching a YouTube playthrough of P5 Royal.

lol always such arguments, do you guys even like the games. I remember playing P5 at release and I was just as excited for Royal to see the differences for myself. I never saw the replaying as something bad, one can only argue they should finally switch to cheap upgrade dlc from base to enhanced version.

I would just play it man, metaphor is a much easier replay than p5 and even p4. The game very sneakily gives you like 20 hours of content to do for the last deadline of the game and you won't feel like killing yourself having to grind the social stats in metaphor because you can always see how far along to the next rank you are and everything needs less points than in a normal persona game.
I was nearly done with the format after 6+ p5+R runs in total but this game made a huge impact just by doing a couple key things
