hot take: we don't need gimmicks. the first tournament happens early enough into the set before decklists are figured out that it's more a test of deckbuilding and meta reading. so it's fine for the second tournament to be a test of execution of refined decks.
lukewarm take: it's dumb to have a gimmick that excludes cards which were part of the balance change.
