create is good but nuversions by virtue of being subject to endless version chasing do not have enough time to marinate like the older versions did, and therefore have less creativity and fewer unique mods overall. also there's not as much of a rush to make new and cool mods by literally everyone like there was with 1.12 and 1.7.10 and such.

Today it's time to finally climb this spire.
I've brought parkour materials. Let's make a cool Create course with all kinds of crazy weighted ejector and fan jumps. All help appreciated.
I've temporarily changed the green train line to go from Nearmeadowe to the stone spire directly for today. Although for visitors from the west, taking the metro to the coastal station and boating straight up is probably fastest.
This spire always reminded me of the starting zone in Shadow of the Colossus. If I remember right you have to complete the normal game and then a New game+ before being able to climb to the top of the place you start in. Always seemed like such a tantalising place to climb, tried it many times but always ran out of stamina before reaching the top.

Here's the first little section, nice and easy dripleaf from the ground to the treetop and then on to the side of the rock. I don't intend for this to be super difficult. Fast and speedy is the goal, not horrible candle or glass pane pixel perfect jumping bullshit.
There will be some going down and up, and also going through the inside of the stone.

Just a little behind the scenes. There's some quite hard vine parkour low on the spire but after that it's mostly a breeze until the second ejector jump. Which is very close to the top but you'll have to drop down again first.

any mods that make mining an integral part of endgame?
>>
>>555573729
When compared to vanilla overworld """progression""", TF seems to just kind of break that. It has tons of extremely niche exploity features allowing you to skip most of early game, and the entry fee is quite cheap as well, only requiring a single diamond. I like to bump up the cost for the portal activator to something that require the mastering of the overworld, and maybe a bit of the nether as well.

Big fun and big progress. There are now 3 checkpoints on the ascend which unlock with Supplementaries keys.
Checkpoint 2 is a little hard to find but it's right before the area you can see here. Which is a shrine of some kind carved into the rock. Part of it is collapsed though so you'll have to find a way over the rubble! A couple of hard jumps and a weighted ejector launch over the pit. If you fail here it's all the way back down to checkpoint 1. If you manage to make it out checkpoint 3, and the final ascend will be waiting for you.

Sadly no, these 3 mods are not yet updated on Create v5 on Fabric 1.20.1:
- Copycats+
- Create Deco
- Diesel generators
We can miss diesel gens but Deco and copycats+ are used a fuckton.
A while ago one of the players suggested moving the whole thing over to Forge but i guess doing that AND updating a ton of mods is probably a recipe for disaster.

But has it been tried yet? I remember clearly he said it worked just fine
I would love to have something like a few days of testing that to see if it actually breaks things badly and then roll back if anything happens, we would need to do a mass server exploring day to check out for things that might've broken which would be a second plus in my book too

I made a steamy autoclave in the food processing wing. All paper cups that get recycled in the city are moved to the autoclave via an enderchest and then put through some hot spring water.
This is purely an rp thing, of course. I just thought it would be gross to take used coffee cups right out of the trash and fill them back up without cleaning them first. Now the discarded coffee cups get steam cleaned and then automatically put back into the Temu AE2 system from thermal expansion.

Hey guys I am new to MC and sorry for a stupid question.
Does the game have some kind of horror themed mods? If so, what are some must have mods to try? I love horror and combining it with a craft build game is not something I have tried before. Any recommendations pretty please?

>>555987439
they're all shit. Either they completely take over your game - such as putting you into backrooms or similar liminal places, and completely removing the actual survival buildy bits - or else they just spawn mobs with SPOOKY faces that one shot you and spawn-camp your corpse, thus also removing the survival buildy bits.
>>

>>555987439
A LOT.
>If so, what are some must have mods to try? I love horror and combining it with a craft build game is not something I have tried before. Any recommendations pretty please?
Depends what you are looking for. Do you want survival horror? Do you want constant jumpscares (pretty much any Dweller modpack or ARG modpacks)? Or horror just in the background and if you have to go out of their way to discover it?
>>
>>555987439
Most of the "dweller" genre mods suck, but the original Cave Dweller is confined to the caves and doesn't insta-kill you. It could lead to some tense chases.
I'd also use Hardcore Darkness (or another mod that lower minimum darkness level, I use Rubidium Extras) to enhance the eeriness of the vanilla game.

NTA, but from my brief time playing with it in stoneblock 4 it seemed kind of interesting, although I didn't end up needing to engage with all of the mod.
The particle accelerator was fun, but it does have the problem that it's mostly a "puzzle" that you know forever once you set it up correctly.

Nice parkour section up on the Stone Spire we made yesterday. Individually the jumps are not too hard but if you beans one it sends you back a long way. Good thing there's checkpoints. I almost made it to checkpoint 3 in a single run but after a fall my hands got too damn sweaty and I couldn't continue.
Certainly another fun project. Join us again next weekend as we go ice boat racing on some of the mega ice rivers.

Oh and here's another section, quite a bit further up. I sadly cut the recording a little early as it seemed like a bust. Instead this turned into the SAVE of the century as he landed on the ejector plate - cancelling all fall damage and allowing another attempt (which was successful).

it wasnt meant to really be an endorsement, i think generally it's a lot better to keep pushing through and finish a pack than restart it. but, if restarting and doing things more optimally the 'first' go around lets you squeeze out more joy from a modpack, by all means go ahead, i feel like i've gotten more enjoyment out of mbc by restarting than i would have if i kept going each time. but if you find you're finishing even fewer packs, or more importantly that you're having less fun and doing too many restarts, consider sticking through. base redesigns can be fun, too.

This fucking guy. What a legend. Dealing with constant phantom shite, wardens, powdered snow. A base so retardedly high up it exceeds contraption height limits 3 times. So far and difficult to reach from the inhabited world he might as well go back to playing singleplayer. Even the thought of it makes me want to throw my laptop out the window but this man perseveres and does what no other could.

Only took a brief glance but it looks like mekanism but orange.
I feel like there's only a few niches tech mods can have and they're all filled
>contraption building: rube goldberg machines, physics, realistic sized factories
Create
>realistic looking industrial machines built all in one go, not magic blocks but not contraptions either
Immersive Engineering
>magic blocks
Mekanism
In the long term I think only the first one will go anywhere, the rest seem like a dead end, there's nothing more to add. ffs people are still using an update of IC2 in current year, that shows you what a dead end magic block mods are. With Create you can always develop more tech types like with The factory Must Grow, or enhance the uses of physics like with valkyrien skies

Remember this anons, big resources leads to big projects, and big projects lead to burnout.
We are all vulnerable to this. Pace yourself and keep things small. The worst thing you can do is clear a massive area to build on, you WILL get bored or overwhelmed. This tree would have been an amazing landmark if the original forest was still around. Now, it's a testament to overambition and unfinished work.
Damn nice tree though.

>you WILL get bored or overwhelmed.
this isn't necessarily the case. It all depends on your level of motivation. I started my current world by levelling a huge area to build on. I chipped away at the buildable space until I filled it all up, then I actually went out and levelled more terrain to build on.
I was also really motivated to do it because I wanted to make my first forever world, and I wanted that forever world to be expansive and high-quality (at least, as high quality as I playing singleplayer can achieve), so I just accepted the fact that it would take months and months and months for me to finish projects.

Hosting GRUGTECH - WEW HORIZONS
GT:WH is an entirely non-Gregtech pack; I just thought the name was funny! This is a custom pack I made with quests and recipes creating gated progression behind the following components:
- Steel (can get via Create: TFMG OR Immersive Engineering)
- Plastic (TFMG or Immersive Petroleum)
- Circuits (TFMG or IE then Mekanism)
- Antimatter/Dark Matter (Electrodynamics/Nuclear Science)
The recipe changes and quests are minimal as I mainly just wanted to play TFMG and build trains like any good autist but I had to sweeten the pot a bit for other players. The pack is hosted via Packwiz so any fixes/changes are pushed to the packs easily without requiring manual updates, so feel free to PR or issue report anything odd you see while playing. Visit the repo for a full modlist!

You have to just experiment with stuff until it clicks. It’s like the drawing advice that everyone on this site gives: just fucking draw. But it works. If you build shit, and then force yourself to live with it, you’ll become intimately familiar with the flaws and why the flaws are flawed. Then you demo solutions until one works, and you roll with it.

I generally try to figure out what I need space for and then make a building to house it all. This works best in packs/mods that require lots of shit.
Pic related is my greenhouse (you can tell because it is green) and my oil and pyrolyse output processing center off in the background. Foreground is my general workshop which is old and outdated and needs to be torn down - It doesn't even glow.

Are there any light-weight, simple shaders for 1.12 that don't go all out with all of the effects and whatnot?
Performance isn't really an issue. My PC can tank SEUS shaders, but a lot of these shaders that go overboard with all of the visual effects tend to kind of just look like dogshit imo.

There's nothing special about my builds. I use modular, infinitely-scalable repeating patterns to set a baseline level of acceptable quality. Pretty much every downtown building is just a lattice of 6x5 stone brick rectangles with some details and ornamentation thrown on top.
I don't have the talent or patience to do something actually highly technically proficient like a lot of the factory builds coming out of pathserb.

WIP chisels and bits billboard. Lettering is rough and will have to be redone later when I have more free time, but I think it's coming out alright so far.

probably also need to adjust the dimensions of the billboard to eliminate the dead space on the left and maybe move the whole thing a couple blocks to the right so the p isn't hanging off like that.
But that's a project for another day.

Seeing a Minecraft mod of all things be nearly 100 MBs in size is not something I expected for 2026.

okay... I just learned two things
>1: the update made it incompatible with the SCP mod
>2: The Update made it incompatible with all of it's own damn submods
fucking hell, what's the changelog for this shit? I gotta abandon my own damn main world with it

I put my Epstein breeder right above water, low and behold after killing a couple Epsteins one blew up sending a couple flying out and they continued to breed outside, the little Epsteins trying to get back onto the island will get underneath and drown

That's the great thing. It doesn't matter. I've played a gaggle of different mods/modpacks in my time and I too have zero creativity and suck at building stuff. But trying to figure things out is the fun part for me. Lawnbasing is a-ok. Building in the void like anon said about greg stuff is a-ok as well. Just pick something that sounds halfway interesting and go.
