I think it gives the game more personality vs housing them in whatever place. Terraria is good IMO because of all these "hidden" features you need to learn to be good at the game, if not everyone is getting the good stuff without any kind of research or effort. The rewarding feeling is less when everything is served you in a silver platter.

So when you’re building a spider nest, the walls need to be at least 11x11 centered on each spawnable block, meaning that you have to burn through a few hundred walls, maybe even a few thousand to make a nest. And even then you’re not done because you gotta cover the outer five layers of the wall with bullshit so regular cavern mobs don’t spawn. Doing that instantly got me a webbed stylist.

It's a bit under the actual Space layer, if you have a Depth Meter, going into Space is already too high, you have to descend a bit from that.
Say the very top of the world is 100% and 0% is the line between Surface and Underground, 70% and above is where Meteorites can't land. I would suggest finding the highest spot on your world, potential the top of a tree and building the line not too far above that.
Also, Meteorites will not land near spawn, nor at the very, very edges of the world; they will also not land if there's already too many Meteorite blocks above the Surface, a Large world would need 801 for that.

Doing a large world has been much more of a pain than I realized. At least I have the ability to replace my snow pylon with a hallowed one, and force some NPCs near the dungeon so I can put the snow pylon there instead.

I think I'm actually going to switch the Shield of Cthulu out for an Obsidian Shield while fighting Skeletron Prime. He doesn't hurt too bad, but getting caught out by one of his hands when he snaps to your position is a death sentence if he starts to spin. If that doesn't work, then I'll switch over to my Warding Star Veil.

I'm on drunk + hocus pocus and was able to find Digtoise (Underground Desert somewhat close to spawn, IIRC, unsure on depth) and Foxparks (on some jungle grass mud blocks I placed in a line myself). I heard Foxparks could spawn in Forest or Jungle on grass blocks. I'd mostly been hanging out in Forest, but I had a Jungle nearby, the eventual spawn was in the Jungle area. Was at the left edge of my world near the ocean.

I do the following:

>In the workshop, there are chests for storing crafting materials. Main one is a "valuables" chest, which contains ores, gems and bars of any kind (also obsidian)
>Other chests are the blocks chest (any kind of block goes here) and common materials chest (stuff like cobwebs, silk, bones, underground jungle materials, etc)
>also any kind of crafting material junk i'd like to keep
>Away from the workshop but still in the base are the remaining chests containing miscellaneous items, separated into groups
>My beloved Chest Chest, where I put all the chests that I loot
>A brewing setup containing a brewing table, and 2 chests. One for potion brewing materials and one for completed potions that I either looted or made
>A statue storage for any that I may find

These couple of chests should be enough to solve all your storage organization needs. Quickstack to nearby chests as soon as you get home and filter out the stuff that didn't get stacked accordingly. The color of the chest doesn't really matter, just memorize which one goes where and quickstack does the rest.

I generally continue the pattern down if I need more room, and I decraft any old stuff I have and throw it back into the associated mat or ore chests. Unique dupes like flare guns, dead man's sweaters, and shoe spikes - stuff that you can't farm more of in a world go in separate chests near my goblin

For me it's the opposite, I got a Zenith world+vampirism on Master to some new achievements plus the exclusive items. Fishron, Empress and Moon Lord gave me enough shit that I made a ton of potions and guzzle down all of them. All 3 fights lasted less than 5 minutes. If things are hard or annoying, lots of buff potions are always the answer.

chillet is arguably too strong for being pre boss, but im afraid they'll nerf him to be practically useless past eye of cthulu which would suck so much. i'd prefer he'd be nerfed, but get stronger as you kill bosses until he's back to where he is now post skeletron maybe, if it really has to happen. but i dont think there's anything in the game that gets better based on bosses killed, which is sad because it seems like such an easy way to keep something cool relevant for longer.

i was fully expecting them to be an early game craftable thing, and would be mostly useless outside of being really convenient for arena and bridge building, and i would have been happy. i'd hope they aren't nerfed to be post skeletron or something, as they'd be useless for building arenas early game. but then again, those arenas aren't too big, and the main thing is the wall of flesh bridge anyway.
i think at least some of the things that make skates so busted are just unintentional lmao, like how they negate slow and chilled entirely. i havent been using them much at all for movement because of my love for chillet, but i'm sure if i was i'd defend them more and/or be more in touch with what should be changed to balance them without killing them.

A nerf for the "OP" mounts added that would be totally fine would just be tweaking their availability, make Chillet's eggs spawn after beating a certain boss, have all the roller skates be more expensive and all sold rarely by the Travelling Merchant. other than finding shark statues, unfortunately not
what I've found to work best for shark hunting is to bridge across the surface of one of your oceans, break one platform so you have a 1x1 hole, and drop ~40 rope down it
at the end of that rope, make a platform that's about 8 blocks wide, 2 blocks thick. replace the top layer of that platform with sand (the bottom layer holds it up)
climb back up and place two platforms below the water line, so your character can stand in the water
this should create a platform for sharks to spawn on, and aggro them to your position since you're in the same body of water and they can see you
it also works better if you have a water candle nearby, and if you break the rest of the bridge over the water so that slimes and goblin scouts dont spawn. you'd need some way to get over to your spawning area though, so you'd need like a pair of flippers or a mount that can swim or an innertube or a flippers potion or something

Before I enter hardmode, I generally make the heath_04 mob grinder so I can farm night and light souls super quickly right off the bat (good source of money and 14-minute medium food too)
I also try and find my jungle temple, but that's personal preference
Uhh, building a sky rail across the world below harpy height, just in case one of my pylons gets nuked and I need to get over there to clean something up, plus it also helps out a good bit for early HM bosses like Queen Slime's phase 2 and Skeletron Prime. It takes around 8,000 rails on a large world iirc, and you can get it done in like 6 - 7 minutes with a builder potion

it's a good source of extra dmg in pre-hm because there aren't a whole lot of other offensive accessories, but once you get into hardmode you'll be replacing it with a class emblem. it can still be handy to use if you want a 2nd dmg accessory, but it quickly gets outclassed as armor penetration becomes more common and the damage you deal scales up
tl;dr the necklace is good for everyone in pre-hm, and remains decent for ranger and summoner in early hm

Open the hatch, throw the fishing pole and close the hatch again. If you have a star fury, you can also kill floating eyes. If not, only focus on the zombie merman. When you catch a merman, you go to the right. He will follow you, jump out of the water into the lave and burn to death.
When blood moon is over, you can to gather all the loot.

Marble has more to it, but the only thing of worth is the armour which is a good armour set early on, if you find a Marble cave early. Gladius is eh, Javelins are fine, Medusa Head lol, Pocket Mirror you need for the Ankh now (because fuck you) but just shimmer a Blindfold, and I guess they added the Stress Ball to the Hoplites, for some reason.
Granite has the Night-Vision Helmet (useless) and Geodes as a source of gems. Wow.

It wasn't the shaft I was actively digging, it was one from the other day where I guess I let him go out of sight too long. Start with the surroundings. I'd do a large cave with stalagtites, a serene lake in the middle, and room on the outside edges of the lake for houses. You can use the "starlit heaven" wallpaper sold by the painter to make the background, and ectomist crafting for better rock textures.

My rule of thumb is to never have buildings hanging in the air. Build walls in the background that look like support beams. Have a nice chimney and fireplace (with a crevice above for ventilation). Have a nice fishing hole that you make yourself. Cover some of it with moss. Put some lights up. the works.

i assume it's to stop constant clutter from afk farms. with hoppers chests can quickly fill up with copies of depth meters and compasses, even with stacking, due to modifiers. though now it sucks for non-afk farm purposes. i think what should've been done was halve the drop rate in hardmode. there's better tools for building, mining, and mobility in hardmode so making a farm to get the items is easier, and you aren't penalized for trying to get them in prehardmode.

they have to be 3 blocks wide at a minimum (so digtoise can do it, no dynamite required), but vines can grow from evil grass and bridge the gap. this however is a non-issue, as you can craft 10-20 rope coils and throw them on the corruption edge of the hole to prevent the vines from ever growing, no tunnel lining needed. in reality, the ropes only need to reach the underground layer, which is where grass stops growing. just don't forget to make the rope about 8 blocks tall on the surface, so that vines can't grow over and across the lip of the hole

That's actually how I beat them in Calamity lol.
Just be careful and don't go too fast or Skeletron can despawn.
To make it bounce at the end you have to hammer the ends. Also make sure you set the intersections properly so you go up automatically instead of going back down into the boss.

Powerbombs have noticeably bigger blast radius than dynamite, as well as the same detonation timer.
They're also fairly easy to craft as well, since it's 5 bombs for every ingot of cobalt/palladium. Very handy to carry both those and dynamite when terraforming.

- Improved Thunder Zapper's damage from 20 to 24.
- Reduced Flinx Fur Staff's Flinx Fur cost from 10 to 6 (same as pre-1.4.5).

I ended up grinding for Defender Metals after grinding to get materials to fight Eater of Worlds in hardmode. After that it ended up being a boring playthrough, as the temple was a bitch to find. The Pillars will almost always bug out for the forced location in the map where there isn't enough space, so they get sandwiched between blocks and you have to mine to them, which also makes them easier as depending on the area, there isn't enough space for enemies to spawn.

The Statues are not that rare in my experience, just a Wilted Clover and Raven Feather with the standard spawn increasers and you should encounter one no problem.
It is funny, but due to what they are it makes sense to have them only be in Graveyards a under certain circumstance. Though, I do kinda wish there was a seed that made anything spawn anywhere (though Hardmode mobs only in Hardmode), like Skeletons on the Surface, Sharks in any pool of water, Harpy wives in caves, that sort of thing.

Legendary Mode Eater of Worlds is kicking my ass. Any tips? From what I've read, he can't shoot spit if he's within background walls, should i just put walls all over my arena?

Fight him underground, set up a minecart bouncer, and use the lance from the dryad if you have access to it. A corruptor banner also helps a lot, as does having a minion or two. Don't forget about station buffs like campfires and heart lanterns

Why underground? The entire place is full of chasms and other nasties, and I don't think it does anything

EoW tends to enrage if you fight it on the surface. Farm eater of souls banners and spread it in your arena. Don't break his segmented bodies at once, they're gonna overwhelm you.
