It actually got me. The first time Erlking was defeated I was ready to call the whole alternate heathcliff thing filler given how easy he went down,but then they shut me up, And then I was starting to get wild hunt fatigue form the hundreds of copies of the butlers and werewofl guy I had to fight.... and Vergilius made his sick entrance. And then I thought "great another Erlking fight, this sucks" but it was actually the best bossfight in the game so far. I loved the "phase switching" with the shattering mirror, the two alternate music tracks, the special interactions. Honestly can't believe a gacha has this level of quality. If this keeps up the following cantos I'm in for treat.

Ironically, back when I first started I thought Heathcliff and Ishmael were just the annoying retards, but in Ishamel's case her canto redeemed her quite a bit. Heath himself was actually starting to look more interesting since canto 1, but his character development during this one is easily the best so far.

Right now I'd rate the cantos 6>5>3>1>2>4

4 was the weakest for a lot of reasons. Obviously there's the ton of filler battles, and the enemy healing mechanics which just served to make the enemies tankier and prolong aaid filler battles, but the story itaelf was also full of "pointless" plot threads. Siegfried gets introduced and never shows up again, the entire trip to rhe lobcorp branch is just a sidequest and then we go back to the lab where we started and fight the terroriats there again, the rosespanner guys were the definition of filler... essentially the plot only got "good" in the final dungeon. I liked learning about the singularity and there were some funny moments like samjo's olympic dive, but if the entire canto was just the border segment straight into the dungeon I feel like the story would've benfited. It doesn't help that I personally found Yisang's backstory to be rather boring, and since it's so tied to the main plot of the game they had to obfuscate a ton of info so we don't even get the full tale.

Funny side note, if we go by Yisang's book source, that would make Gubo into Yisang's prostitute wife

Hi Limbusfriends, it's me again, the newcutie who started about two months ago. You might not remember me (I'm the one who started with Dieci Mersault as my beginner ID). I hadn't been checking the thread to avoid spoilers for the new Canto, but I finished Canto IX yesterday. It was peak, but I'd say this game in general has been incredible. I've started reading the inspiration books I hadn't read before; I'm currently reading Hong Lu's book.

Now that I'm caught up, I'll start being more active in the thread. By the way, here's my ranking of the Cantos, since I need some fresh (you)s.

VIII>VI>IX>VII>V>IV>I>II>III.

But, to be honest, I've enjoyed them all and I'm very happy with the game.

Good Ending: in the game you won't be able to explore the whole City, maybe the story can be set in a district or two, with (you) being a new up and about grade 9 fixer going through missions and ranks with your humble and cute office employees and boss. The story is pretty linear with multiple branching ending near the end.
Bad Ending: It's a fully online open world and more and more district will open with each update, it's also a genshin clone gachaslop
