It's weird how after playing Strive for a bit I went back to SFV and then suddenly everything about Jive seemed more reasonable and like it made sense, but comparing SF6 to this game just makes everything in Dix seem more fucking ridiculous. Like in Rising most truly egregious neutral skips are at least blue while over at Capcom Woshige is going "yeah this regular move has 18f of fireball invul, is plus on block, and gives a combo on normal hit we think this will lead to very strategic gameplay"

For some reason ArcSys insists on making all zoners into setplay hybrids with shit defense, when the traditional zoner weakness has been weak offense but strong defense. In essence, they keep trying to copy Dhalsim when Guile has always been the far healthier zoner archetype. This then creates a very unhealthy character that is massively advantaged in neutral (as zoners are supposed to be) and also runs the train on you once they win neutral but crumbles if you somehow manage to turn the tables on them. This is already a very unfun play pattern, but becomes impossible to balance with mechanics like BC.
