36 mm is quite a bit of pen. You can deal with Panthers (except for the F/II) if you come in steeply enough, but mostly you'll just have to stick to shredding lighter armored targets. Those are plentiful, though.
The Japanese planes with the Type 99 Mod 2 or whatever it's called are also good for this. Just 28 mm of pen, but they get APHE.

APFSDS shells like KE-W can penetrate even the thickest parts of my armor and kill the entire crew.
The reason why you are doing no damage is because somehow with how you are aiming, you are completely missing all of the crew members, ammo, autoloader if we are talking about T-72 and T-64 based hulls, and the engine. Spalling is also minimal because of how thin the side armor is comparatively and the fact that your APFSDS shells effortlessly overpen.

I CONSTANTLY die to them, so the fact that you are somehow NOT one of the guys who is able to effortless kill me with the meme dart in a full down tier says a lot about your ability to aim.

T-80UK is really good.
I don't think I have spaded mine yet.
But the fact that it has such a high mobility and a decent reverse speed makes it a great tank in my opinion.

War Thunder's level design massively favors vehicles that can move quickly. Whether this is taking short cuts in out of bounds areas and returning before you explode, getting to points quicker, returning points to replenish crew and ammo, using your kinetic energy to get into spots other tanks could never get to, or just running away if you don't think you can win a fight at that moment.

Because there's a 0.4 gap between every three ratings 0.3 apart, it allows for much easier/more simple balancing. Taking it a step further would be i think introducing x.5 BRs but there's just not enough vehicles in the game to bother with that.

So all flat maps basically have obstacles you have to move around.
The better maps, imo, are the ones with hills and trees, and actual terrain - usually the larger maps
I like the ones with terrain features rather than flatland maps with obstacles

Spikes should lock onto the exact part of the vehicle you are looking at, maybe add a slight delay or something between the rapid lock and a precise lock. But a stray or gratuitous lock while moving should be punished with no realistic chance of killing.
I also noticed they removed Spike's ability to lock onto recon drones since it was actually pretty accurate at destroying those.
