It's pretty hard to get your ziplines done in a way that the 'auto pathing' is worth using. It's pretty much just the Hub, Cradle, and Wuling City where you have long stretches of Zipline that might get interrupted by the stupid fucking dogshit shared structures (PLEASE LET ME TURN THEM OFF HOLY SHIT), where the 'auto pathing' is nice to have.
My ziplines have lots of turns and corners I take for various reasons so I don't use the auto lines outside of the above cases I mentioned.

The rare re-growths take a couple days to max out, the Dijiang production rooms don't produce stuff fast enough to clog up within a day, etc. So once you're done with content and had your fill, you don't necessarily have to login daily
