Despite popular belief, Kojimbles makes the best gameplay, and it's the main reason I'm there. The absurdist yet grounded story is the chef's kiss. If you like his stuff, it's great. Rises way above DS1, just like the gameplay. It's surprisingly focused and doesn't meander much unless it's warranted. In other cases they made extra lore optional. DS1 could go on and on, hitting you with repeated plot points and somewhat useless deets. To me, it felt like a kneejerk response after MGSV, where a lot of the plot got lost in the breakneck pacing of chapter II. DS1 went too slow in comparison, but DS2 is on point. I don't want to spoil the plot, but all I'll say is that it has a lot to tell and does it very well. Themes of loss, hope, the pitfalls of connecting, death and rebirth, extinction, ... Kojima always had ways of dropping the feels on you, and DS2 delivers (pun intended) .
Spoilers the way Sam breaks down several times only to be lifted by his friends is well done, with the usual amount of cheese, but still. The various traumas you take him through are heartbreaking. Plays well with the whole isolation theme too.

As far as I'm concerned Corpo is the best lifepath. It by far has the best dialogue, goes the furthest towards making V look competent, and gives them an interesting dichotomy with Johnny. Streetkid is -okay- if you want your relationship with Jackie to be more fleshed out but aside from that it's just mediocre compared to Corpo and Nomad just sucks balls. I got no idea why anyone would ever pick Nomad. Even if you're going into the game blind, Streetkid and Corpo are way more interesting in a Cyberpunk setting than "trailer trash who scrounges for scraps in a barren desert".

Some make the case that it puts you in the position of being a newcomer to nightcity just like the player. Of course that's bullshit and it doesn't mean nomad doesn't suck ass. Nomad doesn't have any interesting insight to anything beyond "become a nomad, choom" and "did you know I used to be a nomad?", it's comically bad and their unique quest is just as bad. Streetkid will ironically teach a new player more about being a newcomer than nomad.

Personally both Corpo and Streetkid are great and they each give you a different perspective on how people interact in the game.

Sure, but it's not ideal. I'd rather have a supported port. I still use a controller (got a modest TV hooked up to my PC with a comfy seat in front of it). I know how you feel though, I've been going through DS2 with a controller, but mouse aiming is such a big miss. Everything outside of movement just feels clunkier. But it is better for driving around and arcade-style titles like Streets of Rage 4, etc. Did the first pack have kb+m controls? I played those on deck mostly.

The mantis blades <3 and swords were the primary tools, but V always kept a neurotoxin knife in weapon slot 3 for dealing with cameras and to engage from a distance. I wasn't as skilled as you or Tipsy at no-HUD knife throws, but did get somewhat good at it if I don't say so myself kek.

Can't Touch This serves up 100% mitigation chance while dashing, but you can't dash forever and it's hard for me to hit people during a dash kek. The latest Lizzie's BD mod update cryptically says it "removed some features." Among those features was the Extended Reality Shard that let you spawn characters into the world and have them follow you around, so if you like that you may want to keep the previous version on-hand.

I just finished the game today.
I really like how in most missions there isn’t an outcome where everyone is happy. Someone will somehow get the short end of the stick.
The questlines could be a bit longer with more missions and less “wait for person to call you” shit like the takemura one feels like it ends too quickly. It’s weird that we never encounter Yorinobu even though he basically kick starts the main plot.
I got the secret ending on accident and later did Tower.
Tower is honestly the worst outcome, you’re a basically disabled and lost everything plus all the groups you pissed off will probably go after you.
