the most meta standards are helot and faint. so hold two for when you pull mouchette/realize theyre good. Goliath is meta with GMurphy. I also use Nymphea for poison, Tinct with kath, Casiah with Aurita a lot. And Winkle is my favorite.

The problem is you would have to actually run that covenant, which you aren't doing. Also, it assumes that you posse every single turn, which you won't always do(and many teams frankly can't do). Meanwhile his e3 is always on and adds to the other shit he offers. You can make an argument that there are better supports(and there are) but it's advice for newbies that won't have all of them for a long time.

Finally managed to beat event stage on madness difficulty without support... Vortice! Strong!

I don't know the exact name but what is the best wod to upgrade with the monthly thingies?

Blue: Caecus (great survivability, easy to use, provides vulnerability and a stable source of counter)
Yellow: Naut (can fill the allies' gauge and ignore the shield cap in arc 2)
Red: Faint (very cute, helps you cheating death and provides lots of heals and shields after your first death resistance proc)
Purple: Jenkin (stinky, probably the highest damage in early chapters, will make you think this game is too easy until you get btfo'd by a big dog or a weird hydra))
Also don't neglect your starters, especially Lotan and your wife.
Moreover, there are some welfares you get early on, with Aurita (ramp up DPS with discard mechanics) and Aigis (keyflare and baby battery, will keep enemies forever in vulnerable state and can petrify all enemies once per battle) being the best ones. For Aigis, you'll want to buy her WoD from the monthly shop and Aurita starts a bit slow but becomes pretty strong with investment. You can buy her dupes from the same shop that sells their WoDs and should work towards her 7th dupe (OE). Try borrowing her in one of the event stages and you see you won't regret it.

yes. some exalts matter more than others. you have to read them pretty carefully. Vortice's for example is important to level because it actually changes the tentacle % scaling. Whereas Doresain's damage is less important because it doesn't change how much damage str contributes and str is the vast majority of doresain exalt damage (it's still good to level because of the str generation being increased). Standard helot's is important to level because her whole kit is her exalt, buuuuut each level only gives +.05x its initial value whereas Salvador's gives +.2x more healing for each level.

The really important ones to level are ones like Nymphea's where poison has no flat scaling factor so the exalt damage is just multiplied by damage amp.

What I'm saying is that it's hard to make hard and fast rules because the leveling is so inconsistently implemented. Vortice's Reload! talent doubles its damage between levels 1 and level 2 for reasons I can't understand.

speaking of leveling. the biggest grief is aurita. She has FOUR different skills that all add Gland Divisions to your hand/deck. And they all add gland divisions of their own level. If you don't level exalt, rouse, base gland division, and power of friendship all at the same time you'll have gland divisions that give different amounts of aliemus floating around. insanely troll.

if you're only running one team To My Dearest Friend is much stronger than Deep Sea's call and Elevated Focus is so good you don't have to think about Slumber. Its generally better to use Lightless to get the SSRs because there's no other way to get them and they'll be strong.

It's early on in calculations, if I remember right. There's a damage formula pic that's passed around sometimes, but I'm on my phone so I don't have access to it right now.

It can feel a bit fucky, but if you tap/click hold on a character's exalt button it'll bring up that specific awakener's current stats, including crit rate, crit damage, sigil gain, and keyflare gen. Buffs with icons below your team's health bar are usually teamwide unless specified. Like with Vortice's pursuit stacks from Reload, it'll be displayed on the team, but only she can use them.

Ramona's wheel, Rewinding Time, is a great keyflare wheel that can let you play a card twice in a turn if you're lucky.

Unfortunately it's not that good. The badic function is for the awakener to regenerate a certain amount of aliemus immediately after using their exalt in order to more easily build up the meter again for next turn. There are 2 reasons it's not great: for one, stacking it has severe diminishing returns after around 20. See pic related. For two, unless an awakener uses their aliemus regen stat in some way (like with GDoll), those are stats that could have been something more useful, like keyflare or crit rate. The only awakeners I try to stack aliemus regen on are GDoll and Tulu, but even then it's not phenomenal or anything on Tulu.

After sleeping on it. I think Wanda might be badly designed. In essence she is tank, but also demands absurdly hard commitment. But she also doesn't scale towards late game that well. Also also she cares about ultra turn and you can't just play her big cards very often and they also don't have any form of retain so you at mercy of RNG. And you need to leap her cards because this is where you gain dreamlure. But you also should manage dreamlure for big exalt pay off.

Normally it's four weeks long, but sometimes its two weeks long when they go six weeks between new characters instead of four weeks and run two battle passes. they double your xp gain for the two week bp which amounts to much more progression because even the one-time per period bonuses get doubled.

There's side content that you'll spend a while doing/gradually unlocking. Hard mode chapters 1-6 are basically nothing you outlevel them, the others get pretty darn hard but you don't need a crazy account to 0 gnosis them. the events are pretty small. eventually the game won't take up much of your time beyond d-tide, which is why you see people doing such elaborate d-tide clears.

I've been playing for more than a year, but I ended up waiting until about two months after finishing arc 1 before starting arc 2. It pays to pace yourself in this game, I think. There's a ton of side story content I still need to read, too, since I wasn't very interested in them when I first started and just skipped them for the new posses. After finishing arc 2 chapter 4, yeah, it can feel like the Dtide Show at times. The devs always put out new little sude stories/events for new awakeners, though, and going on a train mode run with a stupid team is always a good time. But as for Hard mode, yeah, it can be a real dick-flattening when you're still new. I've only gotten 99% of the achievements finished for arc 1 because some of the bosses still kick my ass.
