One word of advice: don't waste your resources on "star up"s before you will know what you're doing.
They're expensive and bring very little power, but in the late game they become significant enough to consider(Aside/Yearning system).

Groceries tab allow you to exchange common upgrade materials for better ones.

1* certificates for card gacha (you can ignore this one), special recruitment ticket (2/3rds chance of a 3 star chibi. make your own judgement if it's worth it) and legendary card gacha (always buy this)

Brown crayons can be exchanged for the other 3 types, but you should only really want the gold ones.

Mallows, you can exchange the basic ones for "epic" ones. It's worth doing, but early on you won't have enough to do the trade. You'll pretty much always be lacking either basic or epic mallows early on.

Thumbs up stickers - Don't buy red candy with this. Get star candy once you unlock the last stage of the crayon dungeon, otherwise buy the guaranteed golden crayons. You can also just get the crayons if you don't wanna gamble on crayon roulette.

If you'll have any questions if something's worth the trouble, just ask and 80% of the time you'll get a serious answer.
