Personally I think brainscans makes the most sense, it's introduced in the same chapter and would explain why Glowby doesn't seem to need food while still having so much personality. I HAVE heard an interesting theory that Glowby is powered by the ground up remains of kids thrown in the Bad Toy Box, since you find it near the grinders. I don't think it's the most airtight, there's holes like how would the brain survive the grinder, why would Playtime use kids that failed their tests, or how Glowby would eat since it'd be powered by organic life, but it's still interesting.

I still think they could've gone a lot scarier for Doey. The fangs just look tacked on, and the heads in his monster form's mouth are more cute than freaky. Thr lizard theme kinda comes out of nowhere too, but I can look past that. I think they should've stuck to the concept art and made his "furious" form have human eyes and teeth, while for his monster form his mouth would be a black void with long, thin arms sticking out of it.

I'm just upset that we'll probably never see the toy cartoon idea used again, at least not for anyone in chapter 6.
Honestly the Critters were a big mistake and they should've instead made a cartoon with all the toys that existed up until that point in the series, with CatNap and Delight as new faces and CatNap doing his thing and getting pulled from shelves. CatNap suffers because his chapter barely focuses on him so making him a solo gig would at least be a step towards fixing that problem.
