I really dislike that WoW has soundly beaten this game in terms of actual good content and it's looking like it's going to stay that way. I prefer the job design of this game and I like savage and ultimate more than WoW raiding. I am not interested in "VRchat for rejects that were afraid to use their mic but still want to pretend to be chad/stacy" simulator. Which means there is no one I can raid with in this general and I'm forced to play with normalfags. I have resisted playing WoW this far but my fatigue meter is slowly increasing.

I am not proclaiming superiority to any of you I am simply expressing my frustration that my interests in this game do not really align with the xivg interests in it. Yes I said you are rejects but I did not claim to not be one myself either.

WoW now has a more agile development cycle compared to XIV's that is still in the stone age where we still have a year long gap between new raid content at the end of an expansions lifecycle. WoW solved the content drought problem and XIV didn't and probably never well.

Delves or M+ wouldn’t reward gear like they do in WoW so it would be dead content almost instantly. SE are terrified of giving people gear of any kind outside of instanced 8 man savage raiding. The whole point of doing Delves is getting your free piece of hero gear a week from the bounty map then getting your mythic crests from tier 11 and the vault slots obv. Delves are basically 1-5 man scaling “dungeons” that you can do solo with an NPC companion which can reward heroic raid level gear once a week on tier 8-11 delves. M+ is basically speedrunning dungeons for gear but the dungeons have different modifiers based on the level your key is. Even among people who aren't completely closed off to PvP altogether, a lot of it is mental, and it has more to do with how PvP affects people than anything specific to XIV.

Some people are looking for a comfy gaming experience where you can play with your feet up on the desk and beat up NPCs with a 99% success rate. I don't blame anyone who feels that way, just different strokes.
In PvP, other players are trying to beat you and generally they will succeed anywhere from 30 to 50%+ of the time, which is a huge drop in success rate. Unlike casual PvE, a bad apple (or worse, someone who decides to be toxic and give up early) can sink a team's chances of winning no matter how well you play.
A lot of people find those facts discomforting at best, aggravating at worst. I've had many, many cases of playing PvP games with friends who *like* PvP, and still had them burn out after playing for only 45 minutes because they got too angry to continue.

Ironically, some of the best group experiences I've had with PvP were not with ace gamers who helps me steamroll everyone else, but instead with fellow boomers who have lives and families outside of gaming, and are just PvPing to have fun and a lot of them are really good anyway. If you're not occasionally laughing at your own mistakes in defeat, you're probably not going to have a good time.

I really hope they've realized that homogenized raid buffs are holding job design back. We can't have another expansion of potency buffs and burst filler.

I really doubt they think you're going to flame them for being bad. In my experience, it's a lot more likely that they're concerned about how frustrated or angry PvP is going to make them feel. I've never really felt those emotions about PvP, but I think a strong majority of players who try PvP do experience that.

There's no sense in trying to force things if they're not in the right headspace to enjoy PvP. You can dip your toes in yourself and make some new friends just by messaging people you run into. You'd be surprised how many people in PvP are completely open to chatting or playing together after you share a few matches.

What enrages me the most about hector guides is when he shows the little player icons doing movements that are not actually possible or he just completely glosses over something important.
