The point is that Arknights wasn't dogshit in Y1, even it's first few events had more interesting stages and gameplay setup than anything that Endfield has right now. Early event EX stages were an actual challenge which is why you had people abuse shit like Ifrit lanes, Liskarm battery on Ch'en etc.
Hell do you not realize how stupid it is to compare a small studios first budget release with their massive flagship title 6 years later?
Despite the massive amount of money put into Endfield, gameplay wise, content wise, story wise and event wise it's a massive downgrade in every sense of the way compared to Arknights. Endfield has really nice presentation and great technical expertise behind said presentation, but the actual game itself is a massive let down.
I say all of this as a massive Hypergryph fanboy btw. I knew nothing about AK initially but after seeing a random /v/ thread talking about it before launch I decided to try it out when it came out and immediately got hooked. I bought Ex Astris day 1 and even bullied my bf into playing through Popucom with me. I liked every single one of their games immensely before Endfield came out.
I don't really play AK as much anymore now due to burnout, but AK has always been a great game while Endfield feels like it has no clue what it wants to be.
I can feel an interesting half of it with the AIC, but then it's stitched onto such a generic by the numbers hoyoverse clone of a game that it's easy to tell that development for the game had to have been a complete mess, further backed up by the gameplay being completely different in the original technical test.

What Endfield reminds me of is Maplestory 2, a game that had such hype behind it but it also completely failed at figuring out at what it wanted to be. It had nostalgia baiting for the original Maplestory, couldn't decide if it wanted to be a sandbox social experience or a dungeon spam rng fest and ultimately died because a lack of direction.

The game is weirdly generous about giving you multiple buffs to stack too. There are way more categories of damage multipliers than, say, genshin that only has atk% dmg% and resistance% for the most part, and atk is trash compared to how it works here.

Meanwhile endfield has atk/increased dmg dealt/increased dmg taken/resistance/susceptibility/amp/link on top of stagger which is another separate 1.3x
There are way more supportive weapons with easy to apply teamwide buffs too like stanza. It took genshin a long time to start making weapons like that

Funny thing is Rossi has better sustained damage than any of the actual sustain characters too because she builds crit which buffs her entire damage output including basic attacks. Characters like laev that go all in on battle skill dmg% hit like wet noodles with autoattacks.

Pots are still fairly weak even here when compared to other games like hoyo or wuwa. And those games DO now hand out free dupes for limited characters.

HSR is now doing handing out free limited characters WHILE buffing them too. You got a free Sparkle a couple patches ago and now you can get another free limited 5* this upcoming patch among the buffed older units. Then you have the system in Genshin that lets you get pots for old characters(many of them got buffed and I imagine the Liyue ones will get buffed sometime in the near future)

It's only a matter of time before similar things happen in this game.

you have open gauntlet slot that can make ~44% ulti gain which can charge her ulti with 1 enhanced bs and 3 combo or 2 enhanced bs consecutively. Since your damage is focused on basic attack now there is no reason to use bs while ulti which let’s her use 2 enhanced skill consecutively.
