if i hit them all i could have walked away with 120 strength but i ate shit and walked away with a paltry +20 strength gain over 4 turns

It really isn't, you need gorbillions of gold to level characters and gear. If you want to keep leveling your team you won't have any gold to level gear. If you level gear you can't level your team. In other gacha those things used different resources so you didn't have to choose one or the other to the same degree.

do not trust any fail percentage that's 15% or higher
it's an absolutely fake fucking made-up number
if you don't believe me, keep a log yourself of how often you fail anything between 15% and 35%
I guarantee your failures will comfortably exceed 50%
