I have heard otherwise that it's expensive to lock elemental and attack in lines 1 and 2 and then reroll for a filler line in line 3, because ideally you need a filler line for power anyways. Is that actually wrong? I have a habit of not being consistent on my approach, there are a few of my best Nikkers that have only two lines on one armor piece, even if they are good stats, it's so expensive to reroll for the filler that I usually just move on. But that's just me, I've never actually weighed the probabilities of such decisions.

If you commit to only two lines then stay at two lines. You really should never lock a line lower than the line you want to reroll on (i.e. never lock 1st line to reroll 2nd or 3rd). I hated how at the end Oswald pulled a giorno and understood and confirmed everything with 100% certainty via exposition a few seconds after Pretty died as if to tie up any loose ends. Pretty much the writer lazily saying "we don't want to write about oswald anymore, he's done". I don't care how special special ops he is, how many clues she gave oswald "like don't come to the concert even though you have tickets." Oswald immediately knew that she intentionally set up a conspiracy.

The problem isn't oswalds story ending, it's how it happened, it happened in a very contrived way. They needed his story to end and did it in such a lazy way. It definitely didn't feel organic whatsoever. Pretty much the opposite of how Freesia acted towards about finding out oswald betrayed the goddess squad. The side story was in general very poorly written and most scenes are connected to each other via coincidents (everything releated to anis) or contrived suspension of belief moments.
