The game tackles some IRL concerns/topics but mostly is lighthearted and what you'd expect. There are some sentimental moments in every route which was nice. A lot of the Smee lolsorandom stuff feels a bit toned down compared to the first ML, there's really not much of it outside of Hatsuho's route. The heroine POV scenes are mostly whatever, but a few of them are pretty touching. Definitely feels like a budget game, but there aren't any glaring issues because of it. I do wish it was a bit longer though, a couple heroines feel like they fall in love with the MC too quickly.

Gentle onee-chan route, nice for those that like the archetype but I'm personally not a huge fan.

The main difference between ML1 and this is that I generally liked all the girls in ML1, whereas here there's a big gap between Yui and Hatsuho vs Sakurako and Kouta. Also wish there was a canon name for the MC that heroines used. For games like these it's always in the back of my head that everyone is written to intentionally try and sidestep using the MC's name. Especially awkward when they make a big deal about using the heroine's first name, but then there's nothing on their side. Overall though, it's a nice read if you want more SMEEge but definitely not near the top of the list for recommendations. Still leagues better than TSR. Kon-kon.

If the author spends hours making everything terrible for the characters, kills off the heroine, and puts on the "cry now" music, then I don't want to suddenly get a happy ending where all the tragedy gets nullified. I prefer Graces Posthumous Wish when it comes to EVNs about "love yourself" message with mostly-girls cast. More grounded and there is less denpaslop(though Aki's prologue carries denpa vibes unfortunately), also like how author did some unusual decisions when it comes to charas(bullying victim isn't portrayed as innocent victim and it takes balls to write story focused on girls while making them all heterosexual and one of arcs specifically being about one of MCs being in love with a guy and trying to make him her boyfriend). Vocal songs are nice too and author making small lyrics change for every main ending is kino.
