Can anyone become an Archfiend if they become strong enough and manage to convince everyone else to acknowledge them as such? But Fiends being created through drinking their blood suggests there is something unique to them, unless that's just a general thing, that if you are really, really fucking strong, your blood can impart a fraction of your power to others as well.

One more thing. Aizel lies to Nos, saying that he met Rance but didn't find the Holy Arms on him even though he hasn't met Rance personally since the boss fight with brainwashed Leila. How does the "let them come to us instead of looking for them" plan follow from that, then? The entire idea behind that backup plan was that the Liberation Army would bring them to Leazas as they advanced on the capital, but if what Aizel said actually happened, that backup plan would have been futile because Rance and co. don't have the Holy Arms on them. Recently a "streamer patch" patch was released for sengoku rance, and several big english vtubers (20k+ followers/subscribers each) were playing it a few months ago. Naturally they only played it for the memes and didn't bother with the other rance games (or even getting the other endings).

I forget if they explain what they did in 03, but simply put, teleportation magic in itself isn't all that rare. Return Bonsai exist. Teleport traps. portals to other dimensions. Return devils, and Feliss/Willis summoning as well, though devils and gods might be unique.
Anyway, the short answer is that Hanty is special because her teleportation is instantaneous, at will, and can go anywhere she wants.
I assume that the demons just built a portal somewhere to connect Helman to the Leazas Castle. They can mind control people and have powerful mages in general, so it shouldn't be that hard.

On the other hand, I don't really know why long distance teleportation isn't more common when it's established as possible. Maybe it takes a lot of mana to maintain a portal over that big of a distance. The strategic benefits of it would be too big to pass up otherwise.

Writing wise I'd separate the Rance games into three
>Classic
Rance I to Kichikuou Rance
>Modern
Rance Quest (first game without Tori) - Rance X
>Transition
Rance5D, VI and Sengoku

Arios as a character dates from the classic Rance era and classic Rance is very much still a parody. The only women that really love him are Sill, Lia, Maria (who through the whole series there is some sort of message that Rance can't give Maria what she wants and she'd be happier moving on from him) and Satella.
Modern Rance, while still at his core the same character is not written the same way.

A good example, in my opion, is the part in IX where they are travelling through the snow and Rance makes the party fight the snowbunnies despite all advice. Classic Rance would have made the same decision for the same reasons.
In Rance IX it turns out that if they hadn't fought the snowbunnies then they would have run out of energy and all died in the snow or whatever. In classic Rance or even in VI, Rance would have made the decision and it would have turned out to have made things worse and Shizuka or Kanami would have been able to made a mocking comment at him (or Maris in Kichikuou)

Yes she wrote the games but,
She only wrote KR most portion but other writers still involved
In KR she admitted she didn't changed much from what Tada wrote in the draft

In VI, she is the main writer but stuff like Abert came from Tada

Sengoku is where she wrote the most

A smaller scale even in the old game and it's only in Rance IV where she specifically said only wrote Merim H scene and the news stuff

Rance as a whole is byproduct of everyone involved

All of those are weak excuses, and the same could be said of a harem in any generic isekai ever. Shizuka and Kanami fall in love with Rance because they have been with us from the beginning. It would be unsatisfying if that weren't the case. It's not because they develop believable bonds with him.
They also lack any kind of agency in the relationship. That's why Lia and Satella are the best women for someone like Rance. Both want him all to themselves, and in Lia's case she has tried to get rid of Sill on a few occasions.
The word "message" was a poor choice, I don't believe Rance X actually intends to convey anything beyond parodying the genre's clichés. In fact, Part 2 is a love letter to classic JRPGs. My point is that the parody of the hero with a harem of orbiters falls flat when Rance himself isn't all that different. I believe TADA himself is aware of this since he mentioned the limitations of eroge in his blog about 13 Sentinels.
