Anyone have something that isn't a shitpost to say? Playing a stealth archer has shown to me that the game really doesn't handle stealth all too well compared to other games. Yesterday I went invisible, went up to a spot in the rafters where no sight cones reached, fired a roaring thunder arrow, got a successful stealth check but within .2 microseconds I was doomed, detected, and caught.

Idk man. Losing 4th and 5th level spell slots kinda makes the mystic scoundrel thing not great. Imo sword bard 6 is great, just it needs to multiclass into casters. Otherwise a paladin or EK is likely just better. EK 11 is still 4 attacks per round with 7 on action surge

Basically an Eldritch Knight that uses a Titanstring Bow, buffs haste every fight, uses arrows for all shots and a few more minmaxxing shenanigans. Has the highest damage output but requires farming. Sword Bard is essentially a low maintenance version of this that does less damage because you can't use slaying arrows with your flourishes to double dmg.

I skimmed the comparisons and I'm not convinced it outshines stealth archer. Why talk about the resources you gain in combat if you just never enter combat to begin with? There are very few forced combat encounters throughout the game (ie. ones you can't stealth snipe to death) so while EK Archer does well in those areas I can't see it beating unlimited attacks (until you get caught).

Hunter 11 war cleric 1 is used to facilitate some nasty shit with black hole, combustion oil, volley, and a fire sorcerer. its really just for volley so play a different build until 11
Gloom 5 assassin 4 fighter 2 war cleric 1 is by far better when doing stealth memes, but mostly a solo build. Not really great for a party and awful when playing with other people
Sword bard 10 2 fighter or 1 fighter 1 wizard is a good archer while having unbeatable control spells. Also is a party face with expertise for sleight of hand
EK does the sword bard thing generally better, but needs arrows of many targets/slaying and scrolls to really eclipse it. Which sort of means a lot of pickpocket or vendoring.
Arcane archer or BM fighter is okay. Really solid early game IMO, but I think by act 3 the other builds have eclipsed it.
All use the titanstring bow, and should constantly be considering when to use slaying/many targets. Personally, i find sword bard or the non-EK fighters the most fun. I don't like consumable farming, nor do i like solo stealth archering.

Min-maxing becomes moot once you can already reliably one-turn bosses. That's what the min-maxer community does, but you'd just be copying someone's build. In that sense, there isn't even a point in farming special arrows, since you only really need maybe two Arrows of Undead Slaying against Cazador, two Arrows of Fiend Slaying against Raphael, two Arrows of Dragon Slaying against Ansur, and so on. The game is easy enough that going out of your way to stock up on very rare consumables is a waste of time.

Astarion has different responses to the player bringing up Halsin based on if he is a forever spawn, ascended, and pre-Cazador. I think most people see his pre-Cazador response but the spawn responses after he's completed his quest are more chill.

The game dropped the ball in not including the wood elf poly lore, whether in media or dialogue options for players. In Act 2, if the player character is double dating, they can ask "Why not both of you?" when it's time to choose, so it was a missed opportunity to neglect a unique wood elf dialogue option revealing that is a common cultural practice.
If doing the foursome as a spawn, he switches to performance mode and dissociates, looking "miles away." Vamp lord Astarion has different interactions + a cold, hungry look to his face after the deed is done.

Halsin will offer to join player characters + their romanced companions with the drow after the main couple agrees to join. Halsin will not initiate a foursome with the twins and player character if the player character is unromanced or romanced to another companion who is averse to the twins.

Shart is always down to clown in drow town as long as you do her Act 3 love scene first. This is true if she's a DJ or Selunite.

Karlach implies she'd be interested in a group thing if the drow weren't siblings.

Gale can be persuaded to join the twins, with or without Halsin, but he always dips and leaves a projection behind. (he may never want to share a relationship, but plenty of irl monogamous couples have tried a rare threesome or foursome), The projection watches the spectacle and the orb glows.

I have to be Faerun's worst rogue with all the advantage nat 1's I have been rolling. Perhaps I should see Withers about a new vocation?
