I thought it was fine but I did lose reason to login because the new content they released failed to keep me interested. I wanted to do occult crescent as a duo instead of fate farm and that was tedious. The moon crafting was a worse diadem. The variant dungeons were good. I liked doing those.

I didnt really like anything about DT besides the QoL they added during it, and the Tural zones. There was like 10m of good MSQ across all of it. Didn't care for the characters. The content was just "Harder for the sake of it" without being particularly creative. The gear additions were terrible. 90% of the music was bland to bad which is rare. Raid series was the only thing I liked and I dont even do savage.

Honestly, yes. 7.0 MSQ fucking SUCKED but I liked almost everything else. During 7.0 I had an extremely fun time with the 'social' part of the game for the first time, and discovered I didn't just need to shittily run around with normal mode PvE or MSQ and there was more to do.

Non-tradition expansion, the world has jumped forward almost a decade and all the zones get visual updates to match this. Expansion is about travelling the world, hitting all the old haunting grounds, finding out what's changed and what we missed out on and finding our place in a world that doesn't seem to need us anymore.

By and large yes. Raid content has been pretty great, MSQ was at times a bit bland but overall I liked it, a lot of QoL updates etc. Biggest disappointment was probably OC. I also hated Endwalker so the bar wasn't so high for me.

The base and most of the patch MSQ seriously fucking sours me on the expansion BUT the arcadion has been pure kino, san'doria was great, While I really liked the Forked Tower itself, the south horn zone was fucking garbage. overall maybe 5/10 for dawntrail? And almost all of that 5 is coming from FT:b and Arcadion.

the "graphics update" for old gear has just been a shader update and they also desperately need to unfuck the dye system to work with the updated shaders so dyeing doesn't 1. remove textures and 2. make everything overly shiny (rip jet black dye)
criterion was gutted (advanced was ok ig) and didn't even give us glowy figmental weps so what was the point of any of it
they ruined blm and rdm and ast and mnk
vpr was added
no blu update and i'm not sure why they would add beastmaster at all with the state blu is in like hello ur never gonna be able to work on both
they compressed eye textures to being even crustier than pre-dt
they made character face uvs universal but did not put a single ounce of effort into QA for the actual textures for them so you have some faces with visible compression artifacts/random colour noise that should not be there (hello f4 femezen's rainbow cheeks) but more generally you have issues with like, non-standardised texture conventions/shading which is super obvious on lips. do not compare f2 femra lips to f3 femra, you'll have nightmares

Yeah, for my first expac launch, honestly, I didn't completely hate it. Smile was wack and Wuk getting shoved to the side was a good gesture, just a shame that it took them like two to three msq patches to do it.
OC was fun at first, I should get back in there and piggyback off a tower run eventually, and get the rest of my jobs unlocked.
Relics look good, and aren't the hexagonal crap the mandervilles were so i'm happy. I'm actually spending tomes on other weapons, I just got the viper, astro, dancer and reaper weapons by just queueing RW for the past week, and maxed out the DRK, SAM and SCH weapons doing the same.
Job artifact gear looks cool, the reaper top is going to be a permanent mainstay in my dresser, and the extremes were fun on content. I didn't do any EXs in EW when I started, but Valigarmanda has to still be my favorite next to maybe Arkveld.

I dropped the game during the expac, but what I played was good. 7.0 was kind of disappointing; I wanted a smaller scale adventure, which I got until the second half, where we get a villain who is going to kill the entire universe. It's also kind of weird how immediately after we help set up the new rulers of this nation, hopefully on peaceful values, we immediately go invade a neighboring nation, kill their monarchs, desecrate their memorials and their heaven, and instill a puppet king. It's all justified under threat of omnicide, but it's still weird and kind of funny to look back on morally. The last zone in general I didn't really jive with, the people in it didn't feel believable; they were perfectly content with their lives, but also they don't mind us killing everyone at all?

What even is the point of Relic weapons if they're not grindy?
They're never BiS until the literal last 4 months of the expansion, long after all the combat content has been done, raiders already got BiS ages ago and relic is often just a tiny bit better, casuals have no use for them besides glam and "midcores" (only do extremes, I guess? Or didn't do the 4th damage fight) similarly have no use for them.
I don't get why YoshiP even says the "not everyone has free time" thing, if you have no free time you're not subbed and even if you ARE subbed the weapons are worthless for a year+ since they drop (in x.25), the target demo of these stupid things should be the slurpers who will eat stupid grinds, because right now the weapons are little more than maybe glam bait.

Overall 6/10 but it's getting better. The fights were fun - trials, dungeons at 100, the 8 and 24 raids, etc. have all been fun. 7.0 story was mostly ass until the later half. .1-.3 I really didn't care about anything going on. .4 was the hook we needed a long time ago. The whole "the scions are fighting" they told us about hit its peak with Thancred telling us "sorry, go another way," in a dungeon, so really there were no stakes for what they tried to hype. The story could be easily reworked like the entire contest could be removed and it's just exploring looking for clues that Galuf may have left for the city of gold.
Thankfully I had good people to help have fun but it's definitely made us play other games a lot more these past few months.
