>>568193809 I want to jump into ps5 loonix, I have the opportunity to buy a $700 3.00 system. Before that I want to know : is it hard to run a windows game crack on proton?
If I buy the console I don't plan to spend money on steam so I need to know.
Things that should happen in PS3 Homebrew: Force 240p/480i resolutions over HDMI on the PS1/PS2 Emulators. Add Sharpscale so I can play GTAIV on a 640p resolution over a 720p canvas.
>>568221095 to be fair it makes more sense now, given updates are much more scarce. The main issue with those packs was that everything would break when you had to update after all
>>568195509 So far I've only installed GoG games, but you basically just install them with Lutris. Had to dig around a bit to find the game folder before I could install the DLCs properly, but it's doable. I assume cracked games are similar >install game with Lutris or whatever equivalent you want to use >find the folder that is pretending to be the Windows installation (as in, once you get to it, the folder structure is the same that the game would have on Windows) >replace the game files with the cracked files >play game You can look it up online, with the Steam Deck around there's a bunch of people with similar questions.
switch quick fix/update guide >update hekate (ctcaer github, update the payload as well) >update atmos (atmosphere-nx github, update fusee too if you boot with it) >download fw (thzoria github (latest is fine, 18.1.0 or 20.5.0 is preferable for heavy modding)) >update fw using daybreak (incuded in atmos(choose fat32+exfat)) >update sys-patch (borntohonk github) >download gaems from nxbrew.net, nswtl.info or google game name + nsp >install gaems using CyberFoil over MTP (luketanti github) >install picross
switch quick fix/update guide >format your 512gb MicroSD to exfat >download and copy UltraNX to your switch >download 22.1 FW and update >install games any play
REMINDER If you have an app that says "It's not using the old ABI" You can use this site to patch the .nro and it magically works fully again: https://hbpatcher.alula.me/
>>568315659 sure but that shouldn't be at our expense, like we've argued about DBI constantly and this shit can do everything DBI does (MTP is both for installing AND browing the sd card contents) without le scary malware thing, i'd say it's something that should've been on the table since it happened
>>568315659 >>568316014 >>568314625 probably because of the large % of emulatorfags who might have become homebrewfags but went to emulation because they didn't already own a console and plus soldering can be quite tricky.
>>568316014 Been installing games over MTP with Spharia today and it’s been flawless, boot into applet mode and then it’s just menu > install over mtp and then just drag the NSPs/XCI etc etc over to it and it transfers and installs super quick. Installed 150gb worth of games today through it.
>>568316173 i know, i just tried myself, it even lets you install homebrews on the home menu with a few clicks, hence my disbelief. This thing fucking does it all and it has never been mentioned before, what the hell
>>568320943 Just to be safe and I have no idea why sys-patch doesnt come with a hekate_ipl.ini so I can only just use that. And I lack the brainpower to make one desu.
>>568193809 I just followed the switch.hacks.guide. Is there a hShop equivalent for Switch? Not that I want to use it, it's just so I know where to avoid it. I had a look at the links in the OP but it's a bit confusing for a newcomer. Thanks.
>>568326734 on switch it's like some installers supporting a "shop" functionality, rather than there being a dedicated shop homebrew. So basically you can use whatever installer cause to use the shop you need to do some additional shit like joining a discord and whatever else
>>568326734 Long story short, there used to be tonnes of rom shops. Nintendo purged all of them a few years ago. Likely due to the totk leak and emulators going viral. Like 3+ shops, 4 reddits and 4 discords all of them dedicated to rom downloading were purged. Telegram seems to be the most comprehensive source now if you don't like those ddl sites or don't want to put time into private trackers >>568328639 You guys got screwed over, leak season has been going on for literal decades with all the current gen emulation and it's really fun to play with anons on emulators often across the internet. There's always cfw peeps in those threads too and a lot of people are nice. Then some cute tourist anons. It's super fun
>>568328454 >>568331190 Ok I figured out that part, thanks. But now when I successfully install my .nsp through Cyberfoil, it still doesn't appear on the home menu. Is there something I'm missing?
>>568338146 idk but the game should show up in the home menu, i also used cyberfoil a few times so i know it works. I have no idea why that just happened to you though, like afaik at worst the games show up on the home menu even when they don't work. Try reinstalling it again, or using another installer (though again, cyberfoil works)
>>568339549 then why didn't you ever say anything when people were arguing about dbi and shit? You could've saved countless anons from the evil malware (that still did nothing whatsoever to no one)!!
>>568341242 what did they say about it? I'm curious cause it just does everything flawlessly, though i'm the anon that just discovered it today. I don't get what someone could say to shit on it, is there a gay flag in there somewhere?
>>568341137 Well, after letting Atmosphere update, I was met with a black screen for a few seconds, followed by a "PANIC - STOCK SYS" error message. After it rebooted I couldn't access the HB menu and inspecting my SD card on my computer, I've discovered that it's erased all of the homebrew folders/files and only the stock "Nintendo" folder remains. What the fuck?
Why are these homebrew developers such fucking dunces? You asked me to update, I tap the A button, and you destroy my whole setup? There goes my day off, I guess. What a waste of time.
>>568342371 >after letting Atmosphere update atmosphere won't ask you to update though, it doesn't have a "press A to update". What did you do exactly to get to that point?
>>568341648 If I remember coming about the code and that it’s “unsafe” But I have been using every function in Sphaira for the past year and haven’t had any issues.
Does anyone know of a Final Fantasy X Switch that works or at least has the update? I downloaded from here: https://nswgame.com/final-fantasy-x-x-2-hd-remaster-nintendo-switch-download-free/ And I am fairly sure I installed all 3 but still asking for a software update. Wont boot.
no one actually needs nigpatches anymore BTW just set up the hekate_IPL.INI correctly if this post gets enough (you)s I'll even post mine 7 should do it
>>568432004 Extremely long loading times or no loading at all, happened to me when I tried demon's souls and my character and the enemies were walking on air
>>568483724 they increased prices on decks too? At this point the machine is gonna be 1500, and so will the new playstation and xbox but i mean, people spend just as much for phones every year so it makes sense
So, retard here, point and laugh at me, i fully updated my cfw switch but completely forgot about sigpatches and now am basically locked out of doing anything. Does anyone know where to get sigpatches for 22.1.0 ? I mean i assume thats the problem, and I dont really know much about this stuff. I updated my hekate to 6.5.2 with the new fusee, i updated my atmosphere to 1.11.1 and i booted into all of it, and all of that was just fine.
But when i updated my firmware from 19 to 22.1.0 i was no longer able to boot into my switch unless i changed the "nosigchk" in hekate.ipl to be commented out, and of course after that I cant load any of my games because im no longer using sigchecks.
I have the all in one updater cfw, it says that it also can update sigpatches, but for the life of me I do not see any option in any menu for it for sigpatches. Am I just fucked here?
>>568533174 I'm not entirely sure. You'd just have to make sure you clicked "replace all" or whatever and put it in your Switch. Click on a game and if it launched, you did it correctly.
>>568533817 its not doing anything when i boot. im using the latest version, which is 1.6.20 , which says it supports my atmosphere and firmware version. i placed its contents on the root of my sd card. But booting into my switch doesnt actually do anything. is there anything im supposed to do once i do?
>>568534303 what "doesn't do anything" means here? The screen stays black even though the system is on? Cause that just means you forgot to push the payload for the bootloader, aka hekate bin file
>>568483724 This just makes me think more about getting one of those used rog allys now, it increasingly looks like we're at the tail end of high end personal computing as a concept.
i got a 3ds from a closet got a new sd card updated the hacks updated the console installed homebrew installed games looked at the bottom of the device battery expanded and now i have to buy a replacement FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
>>568582390 No, "overclocking" on Switch is just removing the underclocking that Nintendo put on it to make the battery last longer. >60 fps on botw/totk Is that even possible on the 1? lmao
>>568599573 it does though, it's how i use it only issue is that when you reboot the system it will throw a nosigchk related error, but you can just ignore it and keep going or at least, i didn't have any issues so far, and it's been like two months
Can I discuss hardware mods here? I recently turned up my old DS Lite, but the shell is broken so the hinge is fucked. I gotta find a replacement piece or just re-shell the whole thing. Considering tinkering with it while I have it disassembled, anything cool you can do with these things?
>DK64 announced for NSO >Been fear mongered that if I update nothing will work again EVURR >fuck it > Update Atmos>syspatch>firmware>homebrew >Everything works as it was on 20.5 >I can finally delete DBI thanks to Cyberfoil+Content Updater+Spharia combo >Only RetroArch has bugs because it's nightly but still usable You know what? I'll take it. Anything for Donkey Kong
>>568193809 Suppose I'm unsatisfied with Saturn emulation and leap at getting the Japanese one. Is hardmodding some other PSU an absolute necessity due to the voltage gap or would plugging it in as is make it explode?
>>568636454 The Zelda ones at least have enough logic to not get you softlocked. But otherwise, you either completely break the game or get bad RNG to have to need to 100% the game to progress.
>>568647679 N64 emulation is shit. Better to acquire a N64 and a summer cart. The emulation is preservation camp has acted as if it's a race against time and all the original hardware is going to turn into dust. But what has a better chance of working, a 5 year old used computer or a 30 year old used Nintendo 64? Which is harder to maintain? Sure if you want upscalers or HDMI mods and to make your shit not look blurry there's more effort compared to the jank ass emulation. But even if it can't accomplish it easier it's unquestionably better than trying to cope with buying an Optiplex or some shit when the rig you're running now breaks down and you're priced out of the market.
>>568673830 That's a sample size of one. I can't remember the last time one of my consoles needed a board level repair. I can remember multiple times my computers needed such things though.
>>568673936 That's a sample size of one. All my consoles have issues, especially the older ones and especially the ones that deal with disks (cause duh, i actually used them), not my computers though. When i updated my rig i just gave everything to my dad and he's currently using the now 10 year computer himself
>>568674126 The way that is written does not quite make sense as a rebuttal for my post. It's a sample size of one person but multiple old ass consoles. Also we have solutions for systems with optical drives now. If you care to keep those kinds of machines running basically all of them have ways to use SD cards or hard drives instead. The original post was about a Nintendo 64. You turn it on, the game starts, or you access a flash cart menu. It couldn't be simpler than that. How many variables are there for PCs? With a modern console replacing thermal paste might be a concern as it is with a PC, because more current consoles are basically PCs. But cartridge era machines not so much. Recapping them might be a good idea but you can totally get away with not doing that in most cases. I'd have more faith in a "junk" famicom from Yahoo Auctions working long term than I would most affordable PC hardware.
>>568674765 >The way that is written does not quite make sense as a rebuttal for my post. It's a sample size of one person but multiple old ass consoles. same here though? You somehow think i only have 1 pc and 1 console or something? I have every playstation system besides the ps5, a good deal of nintendo systems and even an xbox one, but in my 31 years i only ever had like 3 pcs and 2 laptops, two of which i still use today. Hence my rebuttal
>Also we have solutions for yes, it's called emulation on my pc like don't get me wrong, i'm not saying you're wrong in any way, i should probably try to fix my stuff, but i'm the kind of person that doesn't find joy in tinkering for tinkering sake, and if i have to choose how to spend my free time i'd rather choose what lets me play videogames right away. Which, in my case, is emulation. Where i too just "turn it on, select game, and the game starts, it couldn’t be simpler than that", which is also the same for proper pc games by the by. At worst the variables are there when mods are in play, but that's a different story
>>568675292 I get it. You are into /emugen/ not /hbg/. That's fine. There's a thread for you and you aren't in it. I have multiple PCs too and they have been quite unreliable for me. Rising prices have led me to take in all the e-waste I can to cobble together working machines from it. I am not trusting any of it to work long term. I am not trusting the SSDs, NVMEs, or hard drives in these things to keep my data safe. I also hate PC gaming and think it's consumer driven retardation. People like you gave these companies all this money. What did they do the minute someone with more money came around? Complete and utter betrayal. Are you going to be happy to use the same GPU that you have now in 2036? Or are you going to hope and pray that the bubble bursts?
I've already opted out. I don't need a shitty approximation of something that was already done right the first time. Asterisk, the older the console the better the emulation. It's not as if I never emulate either. But no I don't care that you can render some things better if they're from the 3D era. I don't need porn, gaming, shitposting, work, movies, anime, and social media all on the same machine with each thing fighting for my attention. I just want to play a game on a game machine. People call all this shit on the same machine minimalism and getting rid of clutter. I call it over-complicating what could be dead simple.
>>568676030 i think you have issues a normal person doesn't have. Or maybe i'm the one with issues, as i never got this "muh fighting for my attention!!", it's not like i have to do everything at once or something happens. Same reason i don't get doom scrolling, like nigga walk away from the screen like close your eyes also i never said i pay for games, hence me being here (aka the place where you hack systems to pirate their games)
>Are you going to be happy to use the same GPU that you have now in 2036? that's a good question actually, but like you i also tapped out in my own way, as i think you literally don't need anything past 1080p60fps for videogames. Like i have a 4k tv too, but my 1080p shit looks fantastic on it just like the 4k movies (that i pirate) i sometimes put on it, but then again even my switch looks good on that tv so either my eyes don't work or upscaling technology really just got figured out a long time ago (i got the tv in 2021 and i don't think it was released that year)
ultimately though the point is that i don't mind having a "do everything" machine, while you clearly do mind. And that's fine, to each their own etc etc, i think the most important thing is that we're still able to choose this shit instead of it being forced on us
>>568505126 By the time you bought it it's long past launch firmware. Just use it normally. If you were serious about piracy you'd buy it at launch and leave it in a box and hope it eventually gets hacked like Playstation did.
>>568702316 I just learned of this game. Is this guy really gonna make a game for every home and portable console gen starting from the nes? ok idk if he's going to go up to 3d but still quite amazing
>>568704464 >Is this guy really gonna make a game for every home and portable console gen starting from the nes? What? It's made by a dying studio because they've done nothing but milk Shovel Knight for 10 years.
>>568755543 ds? ps1? n64? I've seen a guy making a pink haired girl game in MM legends n64 style, and another guy made an elden ring demaster for the ps1
so what is everyone using on switch to install nsps nowadays? I went to install mina and tinfoil tells me it cant open cmnt or some shit, and awoo just laughs at me and says "i aint doing it"
>>568786163 windows explorer as in you don't need an app, these allow you to install via mtp which means you just drag your nsps from your folders to the drive that appears when you connect your switch via usb
Hey all. My hacked N3DSXL became soft bricked recently and I spent a lot of time racking my brain around what the issue could be. Black screen, blue light and wifi light, no error messages. I manually updated Luma, went through my SD and deleted old obsolete leftover files from the older Homebrew etc and nothing helped. I even ran CTR check and there’s no issue, I can boot into safe mode, update, access Luma menu and all of that stuff. I was doing some further troubleshooting and I think this may be the culprit as I’ve done the steps and the qtm process from step 9 was displayed so I’m gonna go ahead and attempt to disable the camera ribbon. I’ve never ever taken this thing apart before and don’t wanna mess it up— does anyone have a good guide or image/video on JUST disconnecting the cameras? I’m finding videos on the entire disassembly but nothing specific on just the cameras. I’m not even 100% sure this is the issue so I hope this effort isn’t for nothing. Thanks!
>>568828685 Yeah bro they're going to totally subpoena Telegram over downloading a Nintendo Switch game. Everyone does far worse on Telegram but nobody gives a shit about it. You can help yourself to infostealer logs, malware related tools, and every disgusting type of pornography you can think of but nothing ever happens. We're having a party on there while you fight for scraps.
Asked in destiny’s thread but I’ll ask here too. So I’m trying to play destiny 1 on ps3. I’ve got cfw hen and multimod etc. ps3 is on 4.9 firmware.
I tried logging into psn without entering hen but it wants to system update to 4.92 which obviously I don’t want. What should I do how should I go about this? I really want to play destiny 1 online again and just hang out there
>>568849873 Well I guess I should get the latest version of hen thst will set me up wirh the latest ps3 firmware so I can then login to psn. It seems that might be the easiest way but I hate updating stuff like hen. I feel like shi always gets fucked up at that point and I never know what to do. But I can’t just update the ps3 firmware bc then it conflicts with the cfw. I found some online resource though
I updated all my ps5 linux stuff getting locked 60fps 1080p high settings cyberpunk 2077 a month ago I think I was having fps problems because of the steam overlay performance monitor and not locking fps?
>>568193809 Sorry if this is an oft-repeated question, but is there a similar thing for the Wii U that hShop is for the 3DS system? Or do I have to manually add game files I find on the web to the Wii U's SD card? Is there an on-console "shop" for games?
>>568883059 It's actually criminal they don't do it with the current hardware crisis, all that hardware that could be used for something other than Spider-slop 2
>>568893375 freeshop is an one off thing where people were just able to download every rom off ninty's own servers without paying. it didn't exist for switch but people made shops out of scene roms and then it got punished hard in switch etc era. so it's just an one off thing for 3ds only, no other console really had it.
>>568900619 ps3 and vita also have it, and the same system can be accessed from pc too. Really useful for getting games in the proper legit format off the psn for emulators, or if you don't want to connect your system online
>>568893375 hshop only happened cause people still care(d) about the 3DS, the wii u wasn't so lucky though i'm pretty sure that in its time it also had it, i personally never used it but i remember it existing
>>568786047 Cyberfoil gives me the same error as Awoo (0x001fd602) even having the "ignore minimum firmware version required", Sphaira just refuses to display my Switch on the device list on my PC
>>568927639 I don't know, last time I believed that I got stuck on a useless firmware for a month, is there a GBATemp thread or something that proves it?
>>568928203 >that proves it? that everything works? Everyone in this thread, and probably everyone over on gbatemp if you trust them more. I don't think anyone is making a "guys everything works on 22.x" because it's a honestly a given, even with all the changes that happened. I also can attest to it, i updated almost two months ago now (when tomodachi life dropped) and again everything worked just fine, at best (or worst) i remember having to switch from the tesla overlay to ultrahand, which is the same shit but made to work on the latest firmware. Also using syspatch instead of sigpatches, but again it's just a "you used to use this, now you use this", it's all still dragging and dropping files on your sd card
>>568928534 Alright I bit, updated another card I had before doing it to my larger, harder to recover card. Games seem to work but I get an error (Failed to apply ‘nosigchk’!) when booting up cfw then it works normally, is that going to bite me in the ass later?
>>568930678 Put the firmware files in the firmware folder on root, copy and paste the latest Atmosphere, copy and paste the latest Hekate, copy and paste the latest sigpatches/syspatches in that order, am I missing anything?
>>568930819 >I get an error (Failed to apply ‘nosigchk’!) when booting up cfw then it works normally apparently it's because you need to delete the nosigchk line in the hekate_ipl ini file. As i'm extremely lazy i never did and i also get that error, but had no other issues so far
