It's funny because I didn't think much of this and just thought this meant the devs would also talk to us more but a Korean just made a video on this suggesting it means the director was let go because he used to always plaster his face all over these notes in all regions but Japan and Global just got new notes back to back and both were written by nameless developers. Chimera feels really bad to play and her skills are visual diarrhea. I wasn't even able to find a smooth rotation to run hell mode with, everything either chains awkwardly or comes out a lot slower than I'd like. I used her event oracles and basically benched her to run white cloud and solidaris.
Paramedic I could see myself playing but I don't like her more than say saint or enchantress and those two could also use the aura and creature on my account right now. I did solo Nabel and Venus on paramedic last week and it felt really smooth but it also feels like it would be too easy to get lost in the sauce and burn all your gauge at a critical time in a party simply due to solo play muscle memory kicking in.

I was kind of hoping we'd get a Korea tier event where there's a metric fuck ton of rewards for the new classes to help them catch up but it's basically just a regular level up event with a few thousand doom oracles. I guess it would be more accurate to say I like paramedic but not enough to spend the 250mil to gear her. I saved some stuff to make the gearing smoother but I was hoping this event to meet me halfway. I might as well put those items on characters that are already amped and have their rare clones and buffswaps set up.

I don't think Chimera is that bad, she's just quite speed starved. As for paramedic, I never liked buffer tools being locked behind meters, especially when it comes to revivals (looking at you, loli sader), but at least it can be charged with any skill.

Chimera is kind of boring and her skills don't chain together very well. Someone described her "the witch of the archers" since she's a wacky class like witch. At least she's high performance I guess, like most new characters tend to be. Even a year on the 3rd and 4th archers are still very good too, with Vigilante somehow having nearly 50% more total damage than my nearly same geared Asura and about the same cooldown-based damage output.

I still think it's better than a lot of caps. The last cap I can point to that I think was flat out better than this with no qualifiers or asterisks is 85 cap.
86, 90 and 95 are such clusters of bad decisions that I'm surprised the game survived them.
100 cap comes very close to being good, but as many people pointed out it would have killed the game without the external calculator. That calculator carried the cap on its back, gearing would have been an impenetrable wall without it. Mythics are also a stain on this game's history and Black Purgatory needing to be created to shuffle around 16 different damage modifiers is just comical. The raid rewards were really bad as well, they're what caused most of my friends to quit, ironically enough this is the cap that had the best solo raids with squad mode, which they just never used again.
110 cap is in a weird spot for me, it was a disaster when it launched, briefly became bearable but then pivoted hard into custom farming which made it terrible again. They just randomly made a fun boss with a perfect reward structure in C4 Largo and then proceeded to never do it again. Forest of Awakening's rewards were insultingly bad. I guess the people that like it just completely ignore 75% of it.
Currently 115 cap content is pretty terrible and I'm not sure how much of it can be blamed on the strike since it was bad even before it. Venus should absolutely have been available earlier. The content we're currently missing from Korea is all filler as well, so there isn't much to look forward to. It will be up to the Delezie raid to salvage this cap and going by the track record of raids in this game I don't think it will.

afaik, during 105 customs weren't that bad and not mandatory, but also Bakal took forever and most of the meta was just Mana Shield. early 110 cap was indeed fine until it devolved into endless Custom farming hell where it got optimized to shit to where everyone ran Bleed 8 times out of 10 because the gap between Bleed and every other build was pretty big on most classes.

At first I was wondering what was there to rework about Dark Templar and then I saw it was mainly awakening edits. With the latest balance patch Dark Templar had to have her first and second awakening damage more than double, wonder if this is supposed to be some sort of apology, like "what do you mean her awakenings have been hot garbage and a net DPS loss for several level caps now, please use them again!"
Not gonna complain though, the new ones look gorgeous.
Aside from that seems they retouched some skills nobody used before and changed a few visuals.

It's a 20 year old game with hundreds of different systems that the creators forget about throughout the various level caps it had. It has the typical late stage MMO culture of getting your ass to level cap as soon as possible while not explaining anything and throwing you head first into every single endgame system at once. For the first few hours you'll be one-shotting anything you look at funny and then all of a sudden you'll find yourself doing no damage at all. At its core the game is extremely simple but it can be very overwhelming to sift through all the bloat and legacy content.

It's P2W in the sense that you can look at a player and pretty much instantly tell whether they spend money on the game or not but you will not be locked out of any content if you don't shell out. All of the cash shop stuff is purchasable with gold from other players and ironically enough the main use case of spending real money is to get things you can sell to get more gold.

The current events are giving out some really good freebies so if you do want to start this is a really good time. It's just a difficult game to recommend if you didn't already play an older, simpler, version of it before or if you have no friends to help you get used to it.

most classes have at least a couple good iframe skills
awakenings, which're 2-3 minute cooldowns and you get a couple of, are basically always full invuln (except for f spitfire but she never touches the ground)
classes i personally play with huge iframes are dragon knight (storm breath is a full mechanic ignore, basically) and fstriker (lightning dance, only dodges for a moment but it's also an important damage skill and with decent cdr has a minimal cooldown)
