Try not to spam yell at people: "This guy is here! I got shot over there!" Location names are given by the HUD compass, but there are lots of specific call-outs (usually a key object, color, or material, even Pro player names) which will be foreign to you as a noob, but it's part of the learning curve.
A lot to comms, but as newer player, even having basics is great.
Goes without saying, if you can get friends into it, it can be way more fun than queuing with randoms.

Some gun basics:
Zero concept of velocity so guns function more like lasers (besides the recoil). If you aim a pistol center, it can hit true across the map. No leading or compensation required (been playing BF6 so this sticks out as different in Siege lol).
1 hit headshots.
Bullet penetration and caliber-based destructible walls and floors.
Flash Hider and Vertical Grip are universal attachments on most guns with a few exceptions. Sights and laser sight are more preference, there's a gun range and practice modes to dial in instead of live matches.

I need some serious advice on this. Anyone who is Plat and above, please tell me what you think:
Let's say you're in a sweaty, "high-ranked" lobby and you're the last man standing in a 1v1, 1v2, or 1v3 scenario- how exactly should you consciously conduct your movement? Let's say the enemy is vaguely aware of where you are, and are holding an angle at your general position. They are already aiming down their sights waiting for you. Time is not on your side.
Should you:
A.) Approach the doorway with a very basic strafe-peek? (You know, alternate between the A and D keys while you try and get a glimpse inside the room?)
B.) Approach the doorway with a shaiiko peek?
C.) Approach the doorway with a slightly more complex hashom peek?
I know that in all cases you're likely to die, but which method would result in you receiving the LEAST damage and not get immediately headshot when entering the doorway, and would also overall be the least time-consuming?

Do them if you enjoy practicing them, but you absolutely do not need them.
The bigger their number advantage, the more aggressive you want to be (you may even want to full swing the first guy right away if its really bad)
You want to force a series of one-on-one before they can group up and figure out what they all need to be holding
If defuser has not been planted and its a 1v4 or 1v5, sit tight and bait the first 2 or 3 frags. This is sadly extremely effective even in champ lobbies

I want to like dual front, but the map is massive and feels soulless and runs like shit on my laptop which generally isn't even that shit even though its aging. You never really get the experience of a larger fight because in practice it plays like two seperate 3v3s or 2v4s and when it then runs like shit with jaggy framerates that makes it ten times more difficult to win a fight, the 30 minute or whatever match time just becomes a long arduous chore of eating shit for 30 minutes where half the time is spend just navigating the map rather than fighting the enemy team.

True. Maybe it's a first reaction, but overall it's a crazy Attacker Hard Breach buff right? Even before this update, disconnects have developed like Pros using Mira proactively (open so you can C4 kill / impact trick hard breach) to counter. But you almost never see that in common Ranked because the risk is high and players are not accustomed to that kind of coordinate line-up. So there are less counters on Defense for average players to pull off, your walls are just getting opened on most main sites

it's literally impossible to shoot mav on any wall he can rappel on which is the majority of important outside walls and any hatch which isn't hugging a wall. Even outside of those situations it is still borderline suicide to peek if he has any teammates with him and he can prone cut at an angle to make you have to stick your face right up to the wall to even see him. if you can't get any value out of mav you're just shit at him. the only counter to mav is c4 which either means risking not having any denial on the wall to begin with or shooting the battery which telegraphs a C4 throw and he can just sprint out of the way.

Visual/peak rank is supposed to have allegedly been taken moreso into account with the launch of this season, yet I literally just got out of barely beating a PC peak Diamond player as someone on PC that's never even been Diamond.
Ranked 2.0 is still completely fucked, come back and try ranked once Ranked 3.0 is launched

Those faggots will go 20-0, 15-5, etc. against regular people that don't get paid to play Siege 24/7, and then get wafflestomped in pro league

Tactical - 90 hp, Fast
Medium - 110 hp, Middle

Medium is the only one EVERY operator can use, meaning some ops you think are TOO slow like Zofia or Gridlock, can be made slightly faster at a cost for health

3. SMGs are the only viable automatics anymore due to 1 shot head shot rule
4. learn an operator that has selfish abilities on attack and defense, as teamwork doesnt exist in this game anymore. It's CoD, but slower

It might be okay, but its not a good sign everyone totally forgot about the last Cancyverse turn-based tactics game. Really, if you want a something that resembles the planning phase of the original game, there's Frozen Synapse and the contemporary Private Military Manager, alongside the elephant-in-the-room of XCom. Not that Ubisoft can't make another good Rainbow Six game, but we're far past the point where you can slap "Tom Clancy's" on a game cover with a guy brandishing an H&K gun and guarantee its quality.

Isn't this game's movement a lil bit glitchy? when you prone and then press the sprint button, the character will get up, do a lil hop and just walk, if you switch to your pistol, he starts sprinting for real
and with lean mode on hold, if you lean right then hold lean left at the same time, the character does not lean left, you can if you reverse the direction

however it seems like siege will become one of their major focus now. i hope this brings more funds to the team and we end up getting more content. it'll likely take a while though, so maybe in 2-3 years we'll see the results.

would a new game work if they port all the cosmetics and incorporate coop modes like extraction but more grounded? i think they can also add back more realistic lighting as long as it's server-side and bring back nightmaps with tarkov flashlight so that people can have more underbarrel options

Dudes. What the FUCK is up with weirdos tryharding so much in unranked? I'm currently Emerald and I've been playing Siege since High calibre- and I can honestly say that the sweatiest matches I've ever had, have always been in unranked and NEVER ranked.
It just doesn't make sense. Randoms on the enemy team will straight-up bust out pro league tier strats in goddamn unranked and put up double digits whenever I'm trying to relax and complete a few Ubisoft connect challenges and am not prepared at all whatsoever, but then those some randoms will get fucking dumpstered in ranked and hardly get 5 kills.
I'm not kidding: only like 2 weeks ago in unranked, I fought against this mega-tryharding Champ. I looked up his profile afterwards, and I shit you not: his lifetime unranked/quick-match kda was like 2.20, but his lifetime ranked kda was hovering around 1.20.
What's the point of being fucking Superman when your ELO is not on the line, but then when your ELO is actually at stake, you're suddenly a normal player??
Does it all just boil down to ego-stroking?

At a certain point they completely detached your visual rank from the value the game uses to determine who you should be playing against
If you start a new season, the game still knows you're a plat and will match you with other plats, even though your rank says you're copper
You will rank up much faster though because how high your invisible MMR is determines how quickly you boost through the shitter ranks

not at all, its way more complex and interesting.
The maps alone are more dynamic with many more angles + destruction, and then there's gadgets.
CS caters to a more autistic, repetitive experience.
It is nice having so few callouts to remember though
