Lost Ark was an interesting attempt to port over a next-gen MMO to the West but Lost Ark has fundamental problems that Western players don't like and it goes beyond just MTX/P2W. I am curious though if SmileGate tries to find a new publishing partner in the West.

Looked like New World had some kind of appeal if it kept people coming back at certain points. Even 2 weeks ago they did something that spiked up the playercount and maintained that until the EOS announcement.
Makes it sad to see it in comparison with LOA in the west where it seems nothing they do can really brings in a big wave of players. I'm not even expecting them to stay more than a week, but just try it out at all. New World took Amazon dollars to create and maintain. Lost Ark Amazon does very little by comparison. We don't know the internals of their deal, but Smilegate would have had to fuck it up royally if it was set up to screw Amazon when players shrink.

Most likely situation is that Lost Ark continues until it fails in Korea, who knows when that is. Second most likely is that Smilegate has to find another publisher and the experience is pretty seamless to the global player.

But this isn't Amazon's game, they don't have any real monthly budget to justify, it's just profit for them.

Not exactly. Even people with multiple endgame characters in tier 4 are dropping the game. So it wouldn't matter if you gave a new player a fully set up 6x char endgame roster and downloaded full knowledge of current raids into their brain. There is something that causing even these players to leave down the line.
Personally, I think the raiding system being so restrictive (jailing, weekly lockout, 8 players required) while also being the biggest and sometimes only source of progression is dragging down a lot of the fun. It feels like you have to clock in each week to run through the raids. I can't just hop on whenever I actually feel like playing and run some raids for fun.
Try to help out a prog party? Lose some rewards if they don't clear.
Jailed after g1? Lose some rewards if I don't spend potentially 1hr+ to find a replacement.
Take a break for 2 weeks? Miss some rewards even if I can play 3x as much on the 3rd week.
The fact that you're playing with a lot of strangers if you don't have a full static just adds to the stress. You can't just take the L among your friends or mess around in raids. Random people will be upset with their time being wasted or missed rewards.

The honing adjustments were for advanced honing 1-20. So I guess somewhat easier to reach 1680 if you haven't done it on the character yet.

The general sentiment I've seen from winter LOAON is that it has some good changes to help new/returning players into the game. But it doesn't address any longstanding issues with the game. So if you are okay with how the game currently is, it's a W since there's a good amount of new content laid out. If not, then nothing really changed.

The improved lighting is a big difference that I don't think they can replicate at all with UE3. SG recently ran a CBT for Lost Ark Mobile and it looks so much better. It's a good visual aid to see what the game could be if they somehow manage to port this game over to UE5.

So far devs were pretty based in terms of coom, feels like nothing was censored and they add 1-3 gigacoom skins every 21d and some normie skins too, actually is pretty impressive for a game to be like this on release, lost ark was super prudish in its first year

For an MMO its nice, but not super amazing. I think it's the grass being a bit too identical. Not a major nitpick by any means, but it could look a bit more varied. And I guess the terrain texture could be a bit higher quality, and just a light touch of parallax mapping.

Good-looking characters and beautiful world is the only nice thing about a2 tho, at least thats my opinion after 1.5 month of playing. And 3rd person view instead of top-down I guess. P2w is much, much worse than anything you've seen in Lost Ark, at least prior to t4, raids arent real raids because you spend most of the time trying to kill trash mobs with millions hp and atk and you CANT progress to the final boss without killing them. You have nothing to do in open world, it serves no purpuse other than mindless grind for pets so you can gain more stats - there are ~200 pets in game and you need to kill ~1000 of each one to max it out and maxing them out gives you a huge power boost. Pvp is complete dogshit, although that was excpected becasue of NCshit, its purely stat-based and combat itself is tab-target so there is literally 0 skill involved.

I know small faces are a thing in Korean beauty standards. Pretty much every KR LOA preset I've tried has the head size sliders turned down to the minimum. Not sure if they also like long necks specifically or if it just happens to come with having a small head. Since it would look stubby if you also shrunk the neck down proportionally.

Solo modes minimum dps requirements are already less than half of the normal mode. If it's still taking way too long for you then you are missing something fundamental in your build or gameplay.
Dangerous patterns have heavily reduced damage. Most mechs are removed or simplified to the point that it arguably doesn't even properly prepare people for NM. It's about as watered down as it can get without being a glorified guardian raid.
