I have finally come to peace with the fact that if I am going to continue playing CS2 in the future, I need to upgrade my build which last had a CPU put in it (i7-9700k) but otherwise has a GeForce GTX 1080 in it and only one stick of 16 GB of RAM. Would upgrading to 32 GBs with two sticks be an immediate improvement?
I just want to be able to stop playing this game with terrible framerates and borderline intolerable graphics. Playing ESEA last night made even playing de_inferno intolerable and my PC would go down to sub 60 frames in every aim duel. I partly blame the Faceit AC.
>>
>>2032998
A 9700k and 1080 should be easily able to handle CS2 on 1080p. Single stick ram isn't optimal, you'll definitely get a small boost if you run dual channel sticks. Are you overclocking? Also there's some settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel app you can fiddle around with that will get you a bit more fps.
>borderline intolerable graphics
What does that mean? You don't want to play on low settings?
>I partly blame the Faceit AC
Yeah. Make sure there's as few programs running in the background as possible. Disable launching on system start for all apps you don't need.
>>
>>2033005
>borderline intolerable graphics
Ever since CS2 came out, low graphics genuinely look bad. There appears to be a weird film grain sort of effect applied, contrast is god awful, and the current res I play on (16:10 stretched) just seems overall worse in CS2. I can't explain it but if that's the was CS is, then I will just try to pump out as many frames as possible.
>blame Faceit AC
Oh and Windows 11, fuck Windows 11. I should have installed TinyWin11 but I think a lot of it also has to do with that. Anyways will check overclocking settings because I am not overclocking at all currently. Also
>NVIDIA control panel settings
Got a guide for optimal settings?
>>
>>2033023
Update to this: fucked around with my settings in the NVIDIA control panel, will be unable to check results until I have a moment to play a pick up game w/ the anti-cheat running when I get out of work for the day.

That sounds like the game is up-scaling. Check if picrel is set to disabled.
>Got a guide for optimal settings?
I followed this and got a couple fps more. https://tradeit.gg/blog/best-nvidia-settings-for-cs2/
>>
>>
>>2033005
>>2033040
CS2 is stupidly demanding and even on low settings with "100+ fps" the game is really just running at 10 fps at moments when any action happens on screen.
Literally the only way to play this game to a passable degree is by getting a Pajeetzen CPU with the x3d suffix.
>>2033023
The film grain is often the result of "high dynamic range" being turned off.
>>
>>2032998
This game is CPU heavy as fuck. You can't upgrade your PC without getting a new motherboard.
I've gone through 2 CPU's already since the launch of CS2 just trying to get the game to feel nice and smooth. The solution for me was a Ryzen 5 7600X3D. Before that I had the normal 7600 and the game still ran like shit.

i warned /biz/ so i'll warn you fags too
there's tens of thousand of knives ready to hit the community market over the course of 24 hours tomorrow.
series one knives, gamma knives, riptide knives & more will all crash harder than a drunk asian on tet.
based off community market data, 145,257 reds from the riptide and dreams & nightmares cases were sold in the 24 hours after the update released. Once crafted, that makes 29,032 new riptide series knives ready to hit the market over the course of one day once trade cooldowns expire. For context, 7,661,994 op riptide and D&N cases were opened last month. Since there's an average 1 in 390 chance of pulling a knife that means roughly 19,646 knives were unboxed over the last month from this collection.
Long story short 1.477x the number of riptide knives unboxed last month are ready to hit the market over the course of ONE. DAY.
Dawn of the final day.
24 Hours Remain (until major cheapies).
>>
>>
>>2033961
certain collections? absolutely. We're talking crate depression levels of market saturation here, i remember picking up unusuals that were normally like 15 keys for about 1 key and change on the community market a 0.10x is absolutlely possible during the initial panic. However, because of the quickly narrowing volume of sales beginning ~20h post update combined with the continuing red sales at ~$300 per tradeup these prices wont last.
i'm gonna get me a nice phase 2 full pink doppler and call it "Argyle Pink Diamond" and a battle scarred rust coat navajo knive and call it "Anti-Boostrix" and i'm going to pay less than 100 australian dollarydoos for the pair.
>>
>>
>>2034083
it's less about individual knife rarity and more about the pre-update abundance of red skins for a given knife's collection. For example, that damascus butterfly comes from the spectrum collection, the cheapest red from that collection was the p250 see ya later, and about 20k of those were sold 24h PU so you can expect a bit of a dip, meanwhile that paracord is a fever knife of which at least 30k reds were sold so the dip ratios will be comperable with a bigger discount on fever knives.
>>
>>
I don't believe for a second prices aren't going to plummet much more than they already have.
I'm waiting for a month or so. By that time people had enough time to sell reds, buy them, wait for tradelock, tradeup, wait for tradelock, then sell

The game will keep running worse with every update. The same happened in csgo, vanilla ran better than the final build (panorama update was the biggest factor, but not the only one). The only way to offset is to just get an x3d CPU, a decent GPU and play sub-native.

Skin talk morning: anyone have any particular collection they like in general? I have the entirety of the Office Collection and I really like it. I hope since Office has had a facelift sine then that they follow up on it, or when they release the cbble remake that they have more arctic themed collections.
The most recently released collection they've released that I enjoy is the Ascent Collection and I have almost every skin in it Factory New except for the M4A1-S Stratosphere.
>>2036345
Works like any other tradeup where you have a chance to pull anything from any collection you put in, so you can mix it and potentially get gloves or a knife.

Post-Unlockening crash update
Prices of knives dropped to similar levels as right after the update for ~4h post unlock, reds dropped more dramatically, both have now leveled, will most likely be another dip once burgers wake up.
These effects represent the first 2 hours of post update skin sales. Tomorrow the other ~19 hours of of crafted skins will hit the market at the same time, but far less people will be watching. People heard about another incoming crash, it "didn't happen", and now they're moving onto the next thing. This takes a lot of liquidity and awareness out of the equation which was the main limiting factor in price drop.
Also the drop in price of reds is less likely to repeat since the prices rose mostly during the initial few hours. The prices leveled our after that point so it's more likely they will have been crafted into knives rather than held for resale
>>
>>
>>2036361
I sold my M4A4 Desert Strike that was just floating in my inventory that I never used to begin with, and I'm so happy that those had value now. As for buying the dips, unfortunately my wallet worth is tied up in a long-term Fracture and Recoil Case investment I made earlier this year, so if I wanted to get the two last things I really want for the time being (Classic Knife vanilla + M4A1-S Stratosphere FN) I'm going to have to wait for a while. I'm not going to be putting money onto my Steam Wallet and I haven't done so in years on account of good case yields in the past.
Anyways good analysis, tyvm

Autotronic seems like a general lock with that specific coloring. As for knife choice, I'd like to see this combo w/ the Shadow Daggers if you can inspect these in-game and take a screenshot here. M9 Bayonet seems angular enough too to where it might also look good as well.
Another good choice is Black Laminate but they of course lack color.

this rally make-a me hard
the coming crash was a perfect storm bar the fact everyone and their dog though it would happen creating far too much buyer's pressure, the fact only 2 hours of skins were released and the rest are on hold til ~6 hours from now means the current rally is people who were waiting for the crash panic buying because they now think it isn't going to happen.
Bye-Bye excess liquidity.

we all did m8, they didn't even add fucking factions to existing competitive maps

What should I get first, bwos? Gamma doppler huntsman p1 huntsman or doppler p1 Bowie? I’ll get both eventually but I don’t know what to choose this month…
Huntsman with finish line gloves and bowie with blood pressure!
>>
>>
>>2041930
You actually missed Anubis being in active duty entirely, but you can still play it in the standard competitive mode (not premier). The game also gets a tri-yearly rotation of community maps, and this time around both Palacio and Golden are good. Italy got a rework since you last played which make it more balanced for CTs.
That's 3 entirely new maps right there for you with an additional fourth if you care about hostage and count layout changes and reworks as new, go check those out or just stop complaining about active duty rarely changing, even before you stopped playing it was slow to change.
>>
>>
>>2043178
I dislike both those knives. Bowie looks cool and is cool irl but when I had my dream Bowie it bored me within a day.
Draw animation is just so slow. Takes forever for the knife to appear on screen and makes you feel slow too.

Bowie seems heavy looking, so I think that the slowness kinda fits it.
The prices for these jumped into the sky, especially for the Stattrak which I need. I’m so fucked, since my payday’s on the 10th… All I’d ever buy got hella expensive already. Well, outside of Finish line moto gloves. Those are still reasonable at least.

Do people still do many item-for-item trades anymore? I don't have any golds, but I have cases and some modestly-priced skins. I was hoping to trade up for a cool falchion and/or some driver gloves.

Sadly no. I was there when the update dropped, but I didn't possess the foresight to immediately buy the cheapest reds. Nice combo, anon.

Is this an okay trade offer to suggest for a FN falchion bright water? I'm trying to not make any particularly insulting trade offers, but I'd like to get a knife and/or some gloves by trading up my old cases. Otherwise, maybe anons here might be interested in trading some golds to a market noob for agreeable prices? I'm not fabulously wealthy, but it'd be nice to find some good deals on some fun play skins.

I'm just on Steam's forums right now. I tried looking through the community trade forum since someone recommended I try that for buyer to buyer stuff. Prices do seem a bit cheaper on sites like CSFloat as I'd think they should be, but I don't have the experience, and my cases are docked several dollars there, so I don't think it'd push me as far for my trades here. I'm trying to trade directly rather than buy balance to minimize fees/losses. Maybe I'm misguided, I don't know; I'm a complete amateur, but I sincerely just want to have a fun playskin knife.

It's all preference. Personally, I think the Black Lotus mogs the fuck out of basic bitch printstreams. Marathon-ass bullshit imo. If you really want, you could just trade up to a FN one, or downgrade to a BS for extra redness. You could get such a nice knife/glove combo or stickers instead too.
>>
>>
>>2054003
I meant selling your existing one and buying a lower float, not trade-up contracts for it.
>I already finished my knives/gloves setup here
My point is only strengthened. A low float Black Lotus would coordinate nicely with those skins. Wish I could find good deals on playskin golds too; where are yours from?
>>
>>
>>2054144
Very nice, not a bad price for that float. If you don't mind, do you perhaps have any tips for someone who's newer to CSFloat? Mostly curious about bargaining etiquette and how to min-max sold inventory items (if you ever sell P2P). I saw that each listing seems to have a "minimum bargain" threshold for instance. Falchion knives, notably gamma dopplers have been eyeing me lately. May like some cheap gloves while I'm at it.
>>
>>2054199
I’m new to CSFloat myself. The big dip got me checking out markets outside of Steam and I ended up there since I didn’t have a passport to use on buff163.
In my limited experience, people who have a set price just turn off the price negociation. I usually offer their minimal asking price and more than 50% accepted so far!
>>
>>
>>2054372
Crazy that you are getting full minimums like that. Do they ever counter? That's one thing I noticed that is missing on a lot of these trading sites; bargaining. It's interesting when some sellers with a higher listed price/lower float may have a lower bargaining minimum too. I was thinking of using Lis-Skins since they have a convenient instant sell and buy option, and have okay FT gloves, but maybe CSFloat could be the answer.
>>
>>2057173
I never used Lis skins since I could only deposit with crypto instead of card, so I have no experience with it.
Yeah, people do counter bargain, often aiming for the middle ground.
Yesterday I got a ST FT 0.201 AWP Printstream for 86€. I wanted to bring it just a little bit lower but it’s still okay I guess.

I've been playing since August and did maybe 200 games now and I've only seen one once. That said I'm judicious when muting my team. Unless you mean tranny as some catch-all pejorative for homos, in which case it confuses me too, I thought they'd be playing Valorant. But there is some weird phenotype of femboy that gets ultra competitive in videogames, perhaps their brain trying to find some kind of "manly" outlet. I don't know I'm just yammering. I'm still on for a while if anyone wants to add us and play some premiers.

I kind of wish that there was just an official 5v5 ladder in the game itself. I hate having to interact with this side of the community to play some real fucking CS. Online tournaments that you can play in one day are dead and open LANs are so few and far between in NA. I also don't think the current matchmaking system is prioritizing 5v5s because any time I play with my LAN teammates, we play cs_office and next to never get another full five to go against, making it an ELO nightmare.
But in addition to ESEA thinking it's okay to bump up the amount of matches per week by one and on different days of the week when realistically you should be still at two on the same day and then you can use one night to practice if you want (my team didn't even scrim once this season) we also have to go against people that don't respect our time whatsoever. We had some dickheads last week trying to reschedule on Thanksgiving at 5:30 PM EST which is pretty much the unanimous time in the entire United States that day where you're not gonna get a response, AND THEN we 2-0'd them anyways. This isn't even considering the fact that these retards think that starting a best of three at 9 PM or later is somehow going to be good for the next morning. I have no idea why more league matches aren't played on weekend afternoons when there's nothing going on.
Competitive games I can do just fine, but having to deal with players in any tier lower than ADV that think that they are going to somehow go pro is a bitch. All I can say is that I am glad that my team is correctly putting retards like this in their place. ALWAYS bully and knock out fake org teams with gay names, that's my mission.

Biggest difficulty in developing CSVR is the money. Who gets the money? The game is already developed by multiple companies, and exists in different name by those companies. Who gets the skin money? Who gets to just give to Valve, "employees"? By giving...can just be blessed by whatever is dropped onto the floor along the way?
Subscriber pass money, and verified accounts increase the money given to customized gun camouflauged, and other skin camouflauge. Accounts are verified by live streaming gaming sessions, and possibly, "know your customer". The percentage of time, among all time, among all verified players, a gun customization camouflauge is equipped is the percentage of the total money earned from an interest earning bank account. The bank account is where all season pass subscriber money, and CS loot box key money, is deposited.

Kinda difficult to understand. Let me try some more.
The artist account can be a steam workshop account. The gun camouflauge, or other cosmetic, is available through the steam workshop. Yes, custom gun camouflauges, and custom spraypaint decals, clothing uniforms, and gun charms can be equipped through the steam workshop. The amount of money the Steam workshop account receives is according to the percentage of time, among all time, from all verified players whom have the Steam workshop cosmetic customization equipped.
For example, if one percent of all equipped 9mm Glock pistol customizations are the, "4chanlogo" skin then one percent of all the money from the interest of the interest earning bank account, are deposited to the Steam Workshop account uploading the, "4chanlogo" 9mm Glock skin.

I only play it because Valve pays me about a dollar a week to play it. They've basically let this game run for years without a functioning anti-cheat driving away any kind of legit player and new players since cheaters like making new accounts. Premiere really is the worth matchmaking I have ever seen in any game, the majority of games are first time players vs cheaters.

There are so many bad players out there that I would rather play with low official rating players that communicate as opposed to higher rated players that try to play for themselves and don't do shit.
Basically, would rather take players that need aim training over blockheads and get two low impact kills and then get traded.

Anyone figure out how to get a server to rotate maps without a plugin?
It seems really stupid that you can't set this up.
Running a competitive rules server, but it doesn't follow my designated mapcycle.
It only repeats the same map.
I've tried voting, which is fine, but it only includes the 7 active duty maps, not the entire pool of the 14 active, reserve and hostage maps.
I've got it running a random maps from the list on start up and I can manually force it to go to the next map as admin, but it doesn't automate (and voting to end a match is broken/unworking as well so you can't just vote to skip a map even.

This.
This game makes me understand how retarded are people.
You can see idiots try to take down a sniper far away from him with a shotgun or gun.
Almost nobody know how to cover and when throw a flash bang.
Most of them I think, they can hear because they run everywhere and they don't hear enemies running behind them.
Often when you engage in a place like corridors they follow you in line without leave space for move back , and off course they shot in your back

It's a great map that follows a three-lane layout but with the added complexity of deep bombsites with pivotal long angles and an inner/outer site layout instead of a left site/right site connected with a middle area. It is not only welcomed in the map pool but is completely warranted and is one of the only few maps in the game that feels unique enough while still completely playable to justify the slot.
I like Dust2 and Cache as much as the next guy but a map pool of
>Anubis
>Cache
>Dust2
>Ancient
>Mirage
>Nuke
>Inferno
leaves only Nuke and Inferno as any map that deviates from that formula and I would say that Inferno doesn't even do that that much in practice. The only way I could see that being justified is if they took out Ancient or Mirage and with no shred of irony put in either Italy or Agency so that there's something completely different in the map pool (which would likely be the most banned). Office isn't complex enough compared to Italy or Agency to warrant it being in the competitive map pool since the only CT counterplay to the Ts is to dick around with utility at the two chokepoints.

no matter what i try to do it seems like i can't improve at all, i'm sure there are people with legit hand disability with better aim than me. this game is frustrating as shit to play if you can't aim, i still top frag some games but it's purely based on playing ""smart"" and just getting bad opponents. but i know i'll never be good this way, i lose 80% of 50-50 duels.

If you make it far enough you are facing cheaters pretty much every game. If you are just a casual it may be okay, if you don't mind the overall lower FPS and FPS spikes. CS2 is not worth grinding. Valorant is the closest you can get to what CS:GO was when it was still around.

You broke your mouse because you have brain damage. Your ego is out of line with the reality that you simply aren't that good at a trivial game. I understand that, but it's stupid. One of the most fun parts about getting the basics of CS down is experiencing all of the community maps and learning them. Map discovery/learning has always been 10x more fun than just playing the seven active duty maps where most have been a part of the game for decades. It's even better now because you can hop into a practice server and make your own util in a few minutes. I had tons of smoke lineups for Thera and Basalt.
It's like a 3-phase learning curve where phase 1 is raw mechanical skill, phase 2 is map knowledge and phase 3 is team synergy. Phase 1 isn't exactly fun and requires the most maintenance, phase 2 is mostly finite w/ active duty, and phase 3 is dependent on the people you play with.

It's just so disincentivizing when every map has its own rank and playing has the same effect on your global rank as playing casual

>>
>>
>>2199604
My argument for that is that if you need a carrot on a stick to interact with a game, it probably isn't a game you actually want to play. People in general are taking the wrong lesson from CS Rating and I fully blame it on Faceit for normalizing "number tied to me going up is good at all costs" instead of having people enjoy the process of being allowed to play better players if you so choose. Not to mention just enjoying the learning process of a new/lesser played map is rewarding in of itself, I often times make my own map guides for community maps by loading up a practice server and fucking around for 20 minutes.
>>2200568
Competition is fun and should be the incentive. I'm always going to advocate for people playing the Competitive mode, especially community maps, because I want competition on those maps so it's not just me going against no ranks/low ranks every single game. I worry that this mindset doesn't have room to exist anymore, which is also why we no longer see smaller city/region wide LANs in NA. People want to either have a guaranteed win with a prize that is worth it or not go to events whatsoever. The only LANs we see are large and ambitious, and that's exactly why in two months NiP is going to be in Syracuse, New York of all places and why laundersLANs were once a year until the last one killed all trust in them and the last one had NRG there anyways.
>>
>>2200606
>it probably isn't a game you actually want to play
Fair enough I have thought that to myself as well already
Though sometimes the "lower stakes" of comp feels like it makes me play more calmly and better
And sometimes it makes me feel like giving up because I don't enjoy the match as much as I expected
>>
>>2200729
I leave a lot more premier games than competitive games because people don't treat it as low stakes and play it as if money is on the line. If anyone starts berating me, I tell them that I hope they enjoy playing 4v5 and abandon immediately. I know that sounds very thin skinned, but I have a stressful fulltime desk job and CS is an additional investment into being at a desk which I'm already at for a majority of the day. I'm older now and don't play this shit to pretend that I'm going pro, I play it because the teamplay/coordination is unrivaled and in those situations I'm not going to have that teamplay. Ranked pugs (faceit moreso but premier is heading in that direction too) have always felt like a massive waste of time because I have to micromanage what I'm doing to pair with random dickheads that leave their individual plays as a guessing game for me to interpret if they don't comm. My CS Rating isn't high anyways, it hovers around 15k-20k range when I actually do bother to get ranked and play it, but I can't believe that even at that low of a rank people act like it's fucking playoffs at LAN or something.
Fortunately I am going to have a different premier experience altogether this season because of >>2189141 which we are starting tomorrow and I'm extremely excited about it since I already have built up a decade of synergy on most of the active duty maps within this five stack online and offline.

Harlequin collection is looking pretty solid but idk what the fuck they were thinking with Achroma. It's all so dull and samey. Black and White can make some dope skins (Printstreams, Ticket to Hell) but every single one of these is so ass.

Reporting back on our time tonight:
>office
We played some Office tonight since we were curious where our ranks would put us after the adjustment. Now the whole squad's at black bg ranks, lowest is DMG and highest is SMFC. We went against a top 100 guy on csstats and a few other people that felt like they had radar hack since they'd pick us off at the best angles one at a time on T side. We completely fucking demolished them CT side though after that one person was talking mad shit. Dickhead had close to 500 wins on Office and was Global so I sincerely hope he deranked after that one. I told him he could such our collective dicks when we had 13 round wins.
>premier
People get so assmad when you they go against five stacks already and having the same clan tag for Steam names like triples that. It was fucking hilarious. Only map we dropped was Ancient because we simply didn't have good after plants. We still had a modified smoke wall we run consisting of three smokes on Nuke that worked extraordinary well. Last game and round I got a 3k with an AUG on inferno. People sleep on the AUG for B retakes since CT to site is such a distance for standard rifles.
All in all: game is fucking great this season so far.
>>
>>2203170
For me it's the opposite. Sleets and Snow Splashes look amazing. The Sleet finish is basically Whiteout but with a built in wear/pattern that works really well. Snow Splash has an angular look to it which is nice for the two weapons that it is on. That AWP in Achroma fucking sucks and it's purple instead of black so it doesn't even fit the theme. I would have much preferred something like Polar Mesh/Polar Camo for the AWP. They just need a common grade AWP skin in general, I know they do it for rarity purposes but I mean come on, throw us a bone.
The Harlequin Collection looks like it consists of case filler rejects, specifically those high variation colorful blue tier skins that Valve used to throw in to cases to say "see look, we're giving you vibrant skins in low tiers too!".

For me like a 10. Other people will disagree. I'm east coast, always play on west coast servers because I have a teammate in Japan and another in Utah and literally never have issues with game feel on Seattle servers. Weapon balance and map variance is perfect right now where it feels like both teams always have a shot at both halves on either side.
I was more saying that because there are so many changes to go over that it's hard to begin. Smoke changes, general weapon usage, map changes, all that. Hell, I think pre-2020 you couldn't even drop nades, I forget if that was before 2020 or not.

Community servers just need people to make Source2Mod so that mod development is streamlined if you're talking about that. I also hate that in order to scrim these days you need two separate other services (refrag for your own scrim server/your own server you manage and pay for and pracc.gg) when it used to be on ESEA included in your membership if you chose to have one.
General community though, it's just the same shit you can tune out for the most part.
>third worlders on Steam community forums with those gay checklists for Valve
>people complaining about subtick when they just miss their shots, which used to be people complaining about server interpretation of shots
>zoomers with enough time to spend 4 hours in aim maps to get an ego but zero minutes to expose themselves to anything that makes them not sound like the last zoomer I played with
>skincels
Otherwise yeah the game is solid, feels good online, feels flawless offline. I'm okay with them holding off on casual modes like Danger Zone and Demolition because you get the same exact experience without third party services or sites for getting 5 people together and playing the game in a structured way. Fuck, they even baked map guides into the game now with annotations which is probably the best addition into the game since they changed the economy so you couldn't get loss round bonus reset.
Do people unironically want Demolition back? It sucked.

Did you upgrade from 60hz? I have found that the difference between 144hz and 240hz+ doesn't really matter all too much from the various non-BYOC events I have been to where monitors were that high up. Like smooth consistent 144hz with the NVIDIA settings from that one official guide is probably the best experience you can have with this game, everything else is a meme.
>>2205126
I miss them too but realistically it's not like I was ever putting tons of hours into them like I was with community servers to begin with. Karma 1v1s still exist so I'm happy since that was my main thing, I was at one point like top 30 on that server.
>>
>>
>>
>>2205550
5v5 literally is the way it was designed to be played, the issue is that people are getting away from scrims of a dedicated five (because back then before ESEA you'd just hop on IRCs to find a scrim) and have decided that being a pugstar is a better use of their time.
Once again, I agree, but also Valve has always been considering how to move some of the more popular gamemodes inhouse (like when they made scoutzknivez into a dedicated mode and how/why gungame is in CS2 currently). Problem is that there's inherently no value for them to move
>Zombie Survival
>kz
>surf and surf dm
>RP
>escape maps
>jailbreak
>all of those arena maps like that one that looked like a racetrack with guns all over the map
over to the base game, plus they would really have to stretch the design philosophy of the game to do anything officially. As far as I am concerned, right now the community server browser and its servers entirely need the support of the community in order to make hosting a community server viable enough to where it's actually built in again instead of just using the Steam client browser. Also they need to fix all of the weird RU server listings that have fake engagement stats.
>>
>>2205550
>Something must be done with the community server browser
This. Idk how the hell theyve let it sit like this for as long as they have.
Passwords are broken, can't access the browser in-game, etc etc.
If they fixed the server browser and then provided all the classics community and casual modes and maps via valve's official workshop channel they seem opposed to re-adding (flying scoutsman, TDM, etc) they could just offload the casual stuff to the community.
I run a server, but it's unnecessarily retarded given all the issues the community servers and browser have.

depends on how serious you want to play and care about grinding up
people troll a lot on competitive, it's a lax mode. i don't like the fact that has map based ranks, there's a lot of randomness in there. Premier shows the skill level better, but there's a lot of cheaters when you start climbing over 20k. Comp has way less bc nobody cares about comp rank anymore since they introduced Premier.
>>
>>2207887
There's nothing "serious" about premier. Just play Premier if you want good matches. The entire point of matchmaking in any game is to get you balanced matches, that's it. You will never be a memesport superstar playing ranked in a game and you should never ever value your rank in a game.

Trying something new and it's quite nice. I normally play 1280x960 stretched on a 16:9 screen, the extra wide models are nice but people swing at lightning speed. The compromise is a custom res:
1536x960, it's 16:10, so still a bit stretched (11% vs 33%) but swings are easier to react to and fps isn't heavily impacted.
Make a custom resolution in NVCP/AMD software or CRU and you can select it ingame without having to use launch options.
