"The Full Game" feels like it works up until level 55, I think there is a level cap around 55 they have soft implemented whilst they get the high level stuff scripted in but the breadth of the main game works, quests work etc, it's come a long way from being a walking simulator, spent 8 hours grouping in a desert killing maniacal jeets last night, we were blessed with a shaman passing us by and giving us what felt like steroids for 30 mins etc.

It's a PS2 Controller MMO like Final Fantasy XI or EverQuest on the PC (just with a different movement/targeting system and some specific charms that only this game has) it plays like a beat-em-up, you spam (or hold, fortunately) X to swing your attack whilst switching through spells/abilities with the Dpad arrows and hitting circle to cast, so you weave abilities inbetween your autos, targeting is like tab targeting but with R1 and L1, the /consider system is in this game but it's done automatically as you tab through targets. It's just a stupidly content rich game considering it's an underdog from 20 years ago that was outshined by wow and ffxi and the gameplay loop is insanely comfy.

bros... i would play this so much, me and my brothers eventually all had our own ps2 just so we could all play, i was never even good like them -- they had max level necromancers and shit
im the youngest and would just constantly bounce between new chars, stopping at like level 15-20 or so
the only chars i remember getting to level 17(?) when you can do those quests to get their distinct class set was a (burly snow biome race?) barb and an elf rogue, who got a blue and black class set respectively
i pissed my brother off one day and he beat me up and deleted my rogue though, that might have been before i got my own ps2 and had to use his account and stuff... very sad times, she wasnt too high of a level but i did get the whole set and remember liking that class

spent a lot of time killing those wasps at the hive across various characters, and my highest level one i ever got was an enchanter, i was def able to summon one of those genie guys, maybe high 20s, low 30s -- that class's set color was yellow

It's the nature of this game to be too hard to solo, this server has a lot of people dual-boxing a healer alongside them which probably makes almost anything doable
But if you dont got that you need to get creative to kill mobs alone, or at least get some outside help like a buff from other people
It's fun and interesting but is a very slow grind, makes every level feel like the South Park episode where they had to kill 65 million boars... but so far there is always something very nice to look forward to on the horizon, like a new skill, quest, mechanic, or piece of gear that will unlock and that helps to motivate you to slog through the grind

I got a Shaman to 13 and got my quick travels to a few places but I feel like I barely see anyone. The only other player I grouped with was another Shaman.

Hard to shake the feeling like I'm better off just playing the real thing

This one feels much more fast paced and arcade-y than the original. Barring twinking out a brand new character, no one on EQ1/2 would hit for 55+ damage at level 1. This game you will if you play a caster.

I messed around with an enchanter and got level 9 or 10 in a little while because the pet can heal itself and tank pretty much anything it's level or maybe one above with no issues. Not sure about the Necro though.

Here, this might help if you're using the latest version of PCSX2. You need to enable keyboard in the Controller settings > USB port 1 > select keyboard and automatically map for Keyboard

the emultaor hotkey functions are there too in the sidebar at the bottom, ur gonna want to delete/rebind some of those or they'll mess you up, i highlighted the important ones
