Yeah but at that point, it runs into the issue of being outclassed by the FCAR, with the distance being enough that the smaller mag size isn't as much of an issue. I guess the AKM might be able to be considered alright in the sense of being a jack-of-all-trades, but I dunno. I think it could use just a little something, like just a fractionally tightened up recoil pattern now that it's got much stiffer competition that's uber accurate in their respective ranges.

Medium needs to be able to play midrange since other classes can't and putting distance between your enemies is key. Even the shotguns have better max ranges. You also don't have the mobility of a light or the health of a heavy so going in with the peashooter isn't too beneficial.
The only time P90s are threatening is when they're stacking 2 or 3 of them. That's like a pocket minigun but other than that, I'd take any other rifle any day of the week

What i'm trying to say is that sustained damage isn't as convenient as high bust damage, regardless of range. It's the same reason why the M60 is completly unused these days. It has better TTK than the lewis, basically across the board, but it's akin to a damage over time weapon. I know neither are really used anymore, but even when they were, the lewis was the more popular choice.

Arc Raiders was basically destined for mainstream success in a way The Finals was just somehow never created for. While I'm still not quite sure as to why The Finals has never gained that level of vast, mainstream popularity (Steamcharts over the years pretty much shows The Finals being about as popular as Hunt: Showdown, which is another niche but popular FPS within it's in-group), it cannot be denied that Arc Raiders was uniquely created, tweaked, and engineered from it's very inception to be a AAA game with enormous appeal and outreach. I just don't know how Embark did it, bros. They perfectly captured lightning-in-a-bottle with the wrong (Or perhaps, right?) game...

I'll chime in and say the extraction genre has still be woefully underexplored, and while a lot of fatigue has settled in around it, there's also a large number of people that want to see it competently done. Arc Raiders stood to fill that gap pretty well by
1) Listening to people pretty well over the course of its betas
2) Releasing in full right off the bat, no early access that took almost a decade
3) The $40 pricetag hits the right balance of being a "full premium product" while being reasonable
And then of course people quickly piled into it further when it turned out the gameplay was far less one-note, kill-on-site interactions like other extraction game

It kinda baffles me, but in hindsight, they kinda capitalized on the extraction shooter being too inaccessible to the average joe. Tarkov is too complex and cheater filled, wasn't on steam until a little while ago and can be too complex for people. Marauders is dead in the water, Arena Breakout is f2p so it's also probably p2w.
All they had to do was make an extraction shooter for normies and make the game run well and actually release, no early access shit.
Granted, I don't like Arc Raiders, I played the betas and found it a snooze fest, but the production value was never in doubt. Everything else kinda was.

Yeah. Each ruleset plays pretty differently. Quick Cash is just 100% third-partying the entire time. Ranked can actually end up feeling a lot less stressful and focus more on macro, at least until you get those occurrences where one team is trying to uplift another for an easier next round.

the game will assume that you're playing from an alt account/boosting and place you in lobbies with high tier players. The losses are greater, which is why it's ill advised to do this.

If your score drops enough that you're about to drop to a previous rank tier, the game will give you 2-3 chances before actually doing so. Yeah this is smart, you really have to pick your battles. It depends on the map but for sys$horizon for example, attackers spawn much closer to A than the defenders do
To the point it's almost not worth it for defenders to even contest it since attackers will just swarm it and get it every time at the start of the game, so it's better to just let them have it and focus on B and C.
Same thing with Bernal, attackers spawn so close to C.
It's important to learn when it's worth fighting for a point and when to just let them have it and retreat to defend the others. And it's important to communicate that to your teammates so you don't have someone just run into a 1v6 and die immediately.

I'll do you one better. We had 40+ coins before we got to this last point. With the power of anti grav + winch and orb they were able to drag it to the edge making this a perfect kill box. Once they got it into position their team switched to mostly heavies with MGL32s and lights with snipers. Because of the goo nerf and glitch nades there wasn't much anyone could do.

I think it's mostly selection bias. You'll notice that there are always less console players in a lobby than pc players. This is partially due to the game being more popular on pc, but I suspect it's also a result of average console players turning off crossplay. At the end of the day, pc still stomps console easily regardless of the aim assist handicaps console gets; nearly every competitive player uses pc. Console players may seem OP as a group because the only ones who choose to crossplay with pc are likely in the top quartile of skill.

Yeah, the MGL32 is a beast. If it needs anything, it's not a rework, it's just for the grenade to explode if it makes direct contact with a contestant. Otherwise, there's a lot of payoff to getting used to it. Being able to get damage while not in LOS is huge. Being able to deal damage with no falloff is huge. Being able to potentially mutli-hit contestants is huge. Being able to get some decent on-demand destruction is pretty alright.
The people asking for a rework are just goobers that should be playing Medium with the CL-40 if they want an easier to use GL that still hits pretty damn good.

That's my main loadout. The main idea is setting up one-way attacks that the enemy can't respond to (such as shooting through flame and antigrav) and staying on the move and being way too dangerous to for enemies to try to chase. This build dominates confined spaces.
Pyro allows me to deny vision especially against enemies on high ground; you can't kill dudes on high ground but if you pyro one side of the roof they're standing on and spam the other side, they will run for cover.
Pyro allows me to kill from out of sight; if I pyro one corner of a room then I can bounce grenades into the other corners, basically guaranteeing I get some hitmarkers. Also it lets me defend against enemies who are on a floor above; by pyroing once side of a ceiling hole and grenading the other, the enemy can't threaten us from up there. This is an excellent counter to any high ground cashout defense.
Antigrav lets me clear debris for easy shooting. Also, I can see enemies well enough to kill them with the MGL but they can't see me well enough to shoot back. It also makes seeing and dodging the grenades really hard. If you lift a cashout enemies go to the stairs and other chokepoints, you can murder them when they do that because it's a tight space. (nobody shoots the antigrav while there are grenades raining on them) Like the pyro it lets me reduce the number of corners enemies might be hiding in. Goo is a free bounce platform for the grenades, and gooing the side of an entrance means the enemy can only move in one direction so where to shoot my grenades becomes obvious. It also lets me take high ground and hold it; enemies can't even see where the grenades are coming from if they're too close to an antigrav or pyro grenade.
I keep Spear or KS23 and C4 in reserve in case of too many melee enemies mostly. Spear/KS23, C4 Pyro Goo is a good generic loadout, nothing special.

NTA but gravcube is great at stalling because it can go through ceilings. You can wait under a cash out, see that someone is stealing them chuck it on the floor directly underneath it and it'll push them off of it.
You can also use it to slow them down from entering doorways like how a medium can use jump pad.
Also in power shift you can throw it underneath the platform and it will push everyone off and that alone can win you the game in overtime if your team is ahead.
It gives Heavy solo upwards mobility that they otherwise lack.
It's a pretty versatile gadget.

That seems liable to just have the demat problem of moving them in tandem unless you space it perfectly. I find it better to just preemptively place it when I expect them to start pushing in. They then either have to waste time and give away their position to break it, or they have to float up which just never ever actually works.
Using it for Heavy mobility is also kinda whatever. A lot of instances, you can just use Goonades to achieve the same results. I only ever liked it more for mobility in cases where you wanna post up outside of a window or otherwise be lifted up to an area where you want more side to side movement while you're up there, as Goo is better for ascension but only gives you a small perch.

The strat for Point Break on Monaco defense is just to rush B, break the ceiling and pull the cash out outside. Defenders get such a great vantage point with all the high ground from the chapel, and attackers HAVE to approach out in the open. It makes it very fucking hard for them to ever steal it if your team is just watching it, with the occasional suicide to winch them off of it if they try to some shield their way in. Then you just run out their revives.
Other maps can do this but it's the best on this one.

My build can pull off like 30x more tactics in any given situation than yours, and can synergize with a wide variety of allied builds. Meanwhile you're playing the same way every match with that build and if someone knows what to do about that you're screwed. It's not baby retard lobbies man, it's fucking simple. An MGL user is a huge threat to any team because of how quickly it can destroy you if you misposition even a bit. This forces the enemy to go after me because they know they can't hide or play slow or my grenades will follow them whereever they go, and so the clear best way to build MGL is to maximize how dangerous it is for enemies to go after me, and funnel them to places where it's easy to blow them the fuck up.
The only problem MGLing at higher elos presents is the increased ubiquity of Dome Shield, which is a true counter... but that's when you pyro one side and when the shield drops the enemy will be in a predictable spot.

The MGL, even when applied to it's "best" as you describe it, brings absolutley minimal benefit to me or my team. It's a high "skill" ceiling weapon but for next to zero reward. Bernal really isn't that bad. There isn't as much verticality so it's not as easy to defend there as it is on Monaco.
Syshorizon is also mostly fine. It gets harder in the last phase, but the first two feel balanced other than defenders being able to pull B into the open in between those two big buildings. But if attackers let them do that then they deserve to lose.
The problem with Monaco is that B is just so easy to move outside by yourself and the cathedral is just way too strong. It's the first phase of the map too so attackers just don't get the chance to build momentum like with the other maps.

That by itself isn't it. It's the fact that the rest of his outfit is also a mishmash of random milestone pieces. The STS and Santa Hat don't fit the color scheme or OSPUZE theme of the CB2 pants at all, but they effectively say (or used to in the case of the Santa Hat) "Season 1," so they get thrown in there.
Like this is just thrown together (would probably use a different red/white top the more I look at it), but if you used the Closed Beta Hat in an outfit like this, then it shows off to those that know/notice but otherwise fits a color scheme nicely.

There's nothing inherently wrong with showing off or using exclusive items. Like I have two CNS outfits, and I use this one more specifically because the Sponsor Jacket and CNS Facepaint are exclusives that required you to earn them in specific seasons (and to a lesser extent the Skill Issue 1.0 pants, but I use those more since it feels like it goes with the hacker theme of CNS).
As stated in the post, it's more about when it's just gaudy. The skin implementation feels alot like how the skins you'd download off FPSbanana really changed the feel of the gun. I complained about this a bit when they initially added the beginner sets, particularly because I used the Flak Jacket and the Spotlighter's Garb as decent bit with a couple of my outfits at the time. Plus I think it's a bit disappointing that there's a minimal amount of gear that's themed around The Finals specifically, which those outfits could've been, just like the original outfits and the career track items are.

I enjoyed this game and saw major potential in it but it just feels too bad to play on my i7-4790k and GTX 1080. Framegen enabled has way too much input lag feeling. HOWEVER, my GTX 1080 died a while back and I'm replacing it with a 3060 Ti.
I am hoping the game is playable with this new card.

I slummed for a while on 4th gen CPU as well with an RX6600 that's in a similar ballpark to the 3060Ti AFAIK and got stable 60 on all low settings, so it might be playable. That being said I was still all too eager to upgrade my computer and CPU to a 7600X, so your mileage may vary depending on expectations.

As a non-gooner, I'm still cheesed off by this. I already don't care for the Tiger Juice sub-theme, but then also making it a girls-only top really tanked things--especially since if they do make a good third tier then one will have to slum through this because there's no more catchup.

They are and they do. Lights are supposed to be the dive class, get in do damage, get out. Dogshit lights try to take on an entire team and just die immediately. Which in a mode like pointbreak where the entire team shares revives means a bad player can just ruin the game for you by dying over and over and never waiting for someone to revive to save that coin for later in the match.
On the other hand, Light is heavily favored by Embark and a lot of shit is balanced with them in mind. That's why we can't have 2 grenades anymore, it's why explosive mines were nerfed, it's why the Pike, Cerberus, Dualies, and BFR Titan were nerfed.
Meanwhile Light gets to have weapons that delete you in a second from up close, and also have the sniper rifle which is the best long range weapon in the game.

tbf, the granade's issue was that they were near silent and invisible and did 150 dmg. I agree that they clearly favour light, but the nades had it coming.
if embark had any fucking balls, they'd just nerf the dashes and look at how everything falls into place. DB not op anymore, dash spam a thing of the past, light actually having to think before entering an engagement. Fuck they can even keep the op as fuck weapons, just give them 2 dashes OR a cooldown between dashes. Reminder, they thought a cooldown between uses for mesh would make it balanced

Have you tried turning on night mode? I personally don't like it on my headphones since to me it massively ramps the sound up to the point all footsteps are jumbled together, but it might be fine for you. Also fuck you my riot shield has been nerfed enough.
