HYTALE THREAD / SERVER

RELEASE DATE: JAN 13 2026
I plan on making a server for this game when it comes out in approx. 2 weeks

Will make a new thread with the IP when the time comes but we can talk about the game here in the meantime.

Idk I'm still thinking about buying it because I do like the idea of actual minecraft + terraria in one game without 6 different legacy versions people prefer to use their mods on with like 3 different mod thingies that some people only make their mod for one for. Fresh start and all that, I don't know, it doesn't look bad. It literally just looks like minecraft but with more support and better animations. I heard about the skins monetization thing but I'm not sure how that works, but if it's only for public servers then I don't really care cause I don't play public servers on these games anyway. What I'm really excited for is when someone makes the equivalent of minecolonies.

Here's one from a very recent mod showcase (it's a modded item but previous screenshots also look like this, this is just more recent). This will complicate any crafting recipe with more than ~4 items in it, as well as any modular recipe (i.e. tinker's construct), so modders who don't want the game to be just hack-and-slash with an optional cottagecore building minigame will probably have to make their own UIs.

I was hoping for survival/anarchy servers that won't have to have either a queue or be split into multiple servers. Currently the player cap is only 100 (less than 2b2t).

I'm really hoping that it is good, but all the post-release mods so far (there were some very basic gameplay mods made before release) are libraries and furniture. Some of the multiblock extremely specific furniture in Hytale make me understand people who say that minecraft doesn't need chairs. Also, the artstyle will probably be the main bottleneck in any mods I create, since it's 64x.

Somehow the loot in structures is even worse than in minecraft, also the movement is op. They could solve both these issues by being more like terraria and creating items for higher jumps and ledge climbing, which you could then find by exploring.

The loot in structures sucks because everything is furniture. Minecraft partially solves this by at least having generic blocks that can be collected in structures in large amounts earlier than you can farm them (for example, nether bricks and prismarine) and by having an actual game progression and survival mechanics (meaning that food and ores which you already have are still useful). In contrast, Hytale structures have a very wide block variety and are small, meaning that you get a very small amount of each block, and the blocks are just reskins with all of the effort put into modeling. Also, since you very rarely fight multiple monsters at once in Hytale, better weapons are just timesavers and not significantly protective, especially since crude arrows are very easy to make in large amounts without automation. I also agree that the movement is OP, and I am also surprised and disappointed that there isn't a way to crawl (I liked how Minecraft allows crawling but makes it very slow, however minecraft's retarded design principles mean that you can only crawl by closing a trapdoor above your head, not by just pressing a button).
