Anybody else checking this out with the latest playtest? I like the visuals but the questing feels a bit aimless right now, so I'm mostly just wandering around trying to fill the map.

Yeah I ended up figuring it out lol, I genuinely didn't notice the gold getting highlighted in my bags at first. On the other hand it seems like player to player trade is actually broken, hopefully they fixed that by now but last night nobody could trade from what I saw.

I played the last 2 tests and spent most of the time being completely lost and I never actually got far, the map design is actually kino since you can't just W key through entire landscapes at a time. It's extremely easy to get lost. Fun mmo but I think I'm gonna wait longer for the full release. I'll let myself forget and get lost again

As a literal first MMO? Probably not, the playstyle is pretty archaic by today's standards compared to even stuff from a decade ago, which is around when most of the current popular ones came out. Unless you're a really big fan of a more open ended experience exploring the map and grinding levels in general. I would say for a total noob probably Guild Wars 2 or XIV, those are pretty approachable MMOs that'd get you used to the basics of the genre. They're both pretty story focused as that's the main way to progress in those games.

As a literal first MMO? Yes, the playstyle is pretty archaic by today's standards but it's how the genre excels at what it is supposed to be: exploration and overcoming gameplay friction with others together.
Modern MMOs aren't exactly "MMOs", they are diluted to make the adaptation and gameplay as non-repulsive as possible essentially turning them into single-player games with optional multiplayer.

Got me to level 16, gear is really important in this and there are not much at this level other than buying it off from higher levels player, and things like cutlass seems like 1 per user unless he buys that from another player. Playing rogue or mage right at the start where you can change job is suicide fuel or maybe just your autism grind fuel.
