>>2425844 is there a point to doing these early level besides the chance of better gear (small) or levels? >pic related since archived now also no I only go for the weapons with the highest numbers. I leveled sword of justice 10/10 and its replaced my main swings because its fast and seems to do a lot of dmg. only bitch is finding better weapons/mods with increased energy regen
I really like the theorycrafting of the game so far. there are so many different ways to play one class
>>2426150 I'm sure it's not worth doing anything besides running directly to the next main story quest location and completing whatever task it has you do. But there's what it's "worth" doing and there's the game as intended.
RAPE >>2426150 Fair enough, the AOE swing is really good, and once Whirlwind gets online, it probably will be even better. But I still recommend you giving the different status effects a try, Phys stunlock saved my ass a lot. Shield piercing too, it helps against those annoying rare niggas which have bazillion units of shield charge
>>2426870 It has so many pitfalls, too. I was excited about rolling a RAPID SHOT 3 item and I was using it for a while, but then I realized Rapid Shot doesnt work with the ammunition skills so I was doing basically the same DPS. Ammunition skills have synergy in that they play well with each other, but strikes and grenades have synergy in that they massively multiply each others' effectiveness. Tactical stance gives you a 50% damage bonus! Which is linear with all other forms of stat-based damage bonus, so be careful. Same with crit. It's just a mess of traps you can fall into.
>>2427455 Yep marksman need careful planning and u derstanding. It also takes the longest of all classes to get online. Tho for newbies reading this and wanted to try marksman you can negate this playing with others and that makes the early slog manageable. it is also one of the top 3 dps classes. Its hard but you do get rewarded immensely late game.
>>2427663 Yeah lightning field alone wont be enough and if you arent phasing them constantly with the spectral bolts they will just recover. Ignite basically cancels out the regen. Regen enemies in general are annoying, especially if your a Guardian...
>>2427166 looking into it phys was the right move. I got to this new place last night that was crazy difficult it was like a dungeon. >>2427763 Im thinking of starting a guardian just because Im sick of dying
finally got the backpack it helps a lot because it automatically stores dismantled mats into them and other consumables so can now have a clean inventory
>>2427750 Just stop kiritomaxxing and ask for a party. I spent a whole day partying with anons of all level ranges just for /fun/. Most of you guys are a fun bunch anyways!
>>2428954 It sucks a bit that most anons are probably asleep by the time I get online, but I hope I can have fun with them during the weekend Shitposting in the guild chat is still fun, I am glad we keeping everything there instead of going for gay discord chat hubs >>2428477 Glad the Phys build helps anon, a bunch of enemies seem to have resist against Poison (Necros) and Fire (Primus), but most seems neutral to Phys, which also seems to help ton if you are not farming specific bosses. >>2427763 Not now, a bit too attached to my Blademaster, but I might give Engi a try this weekend
>>2427763 Archangel is the only one I have in the guild right now. If you see me online feel free to invite me to a party and I'll swap to whatever is closest to your level.
>>2428990 >doing this nigger shit last night with archangel >it crashed when were in like part 4 or 5 and we had to restart I am not excited for the turbo zombie holocaust on nightmare and hell.
>>2429792 when we're all max level we can form full groups for it. we have a nice balance of people leveling different classes in each game which is nice
>>2429792 I was trying a variety of different skills but have respecced into the ones I like now. Engineer/Summoner are a lot better suited to crowd control though.
>>2431655 I'm level 15 and my drone is still using this thing, but im like 90% sure I should give it a purple weapon since that seems like the most broken status effect in the game.
>>2433028 You prepate your build to challenge Hard mode. It's a Diablo clone, what did you expect? There is also a special dungeon that requires you to farm 100 of a certain orb, the first station also has a daily that give you a portal to another unique map, but you need max level to use it
this cocksucking thing gets hung up at 99% on the install everytime so far. Run in compat windows xp pack 1 or 2, run as admin, no long path names. Nothings working.
>>2433041 should i turn on nightmare mode for easier leveling to 50? i keep trying to farm mobs but i keep getting killed now just from the amount of mobs. i guess i should probably play with other anons? and is stonehenge a group place?
>>2433442 Stonehenge seems to be the grinding area, yeah. There is nothing stopping you from partying with anons there. The abyss secret map is also hella gud, but you need to grind the keys for it, dunno if only one player with the key will be enough, we need to test ir https://wiki.london2038.com/Abyss >Going to Nightmare this soon You can try, but I don't think you will survive if you are struggling now, higher difficulties will increase their stats by a ton and shove more rares upon your ass. There is also this: https://wiki.london2038.com/Experience If you are 12 levels lower or more from the monsters you kill, you will get less xp from them. Partying up and doing rifts and halls seems to he the optimal way of doing it >>2433669 Diablo 1 and 2 could be casually cleared in 3 days, the main appeal of those games always been the higher difficulties and farming for those 1% loot afixes, think the only outliers are PoE due to it being more of a MMO than Diablo, and 3 last few seasons since blizzard pads a lot of content
It DOES help with drops, but the chances are quite small and often more effective on boss drops. If you have something around 1500+ luck, you will only recieve Cyan or higher quality gear from bosses
>>2431655 Shield pen and shield overload are good stats +100% overload is like +50% damane against a lot of enemies, and 10% shield pen is like 2x damage against some (and lets you trigger status effects).
>>2434086 Had a great Hellrift earlier around level 12, we got knocked off our horses and then got back up and ATE. THAT. HORSE. Truly a great time. Unfortunately I picked up a quest (The Sole Survivor) and five levels later and many hubs after, can’t figure out where to turn that bitch in.
this game had so much potential bros, shame it failed. The subgenre itself never really expanded beyond this game, hopefully we get a new poe/shooter arpg hybrid like this sometime in the future.
>>2434188 Hellrifts can be very hit or miss, but I am glad you had fun nonny! Regarding your quest issue, open the quest tab and check with Murmur (Click the question mark button) or the dialogue bubble button, it will usually tell who gave you and to who you need to deliver. Game has a few limitations though. If you need to deliver your quest to someone who also wants to give you a quest, you won't be able to complete the quest, til you finish that npc quest first, engine limitation and all
>>2435220 > is it too late to start? Not at all, an anon joined yesterday and had /fun/ > any classes or whatever in need? Not really but if you must know the most popular ones are prob Engie and Evoker
>>2435220 >is it too late to start? this is a game that people will probably roll multiple characters so definitely not late. As for classes, just pick what you find fun.
>>2435730 If you shove 3 mythics in a box, it will convert it to another mythic. There is also a recipe with some scrap and a few legendaries that allows you to the keep the item, but re-roll the affixes, check da wiki
>>2437389 Anon this is your first time playing a diablo game? All of them have it. It was even worse in 1-2, since depending on your resistance value, enemies could stun lock you and you would be wailing around like a basketball as two kobolds and one skeleton rape you with quick strikes.
What I find weird is that they gave you a jump button, but you can't use it if you are body blocked
Let's get together to take some guild photos at 9:15 pm UTC, Saturday. >Time Zone Converter: https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=Hellgate+London+-+Group+Photos&iso=20260509T2115&p1=1440
>nightmare mode >game actually gets easier Bros... is marksman the baby mode class? Most of the late game dualies melt both AoE as well as single target, and with multishot unlocked I'm just holding w into every enemy instead of sniping with a rifle + tactical stance like I did in elite mode. I'm having fun
>>2437028 >turns off your abilities >spams poison bugs that will collision block you and turn off your potions >regenerates to full health if you stop dps for a microsecond how do you respond without sounding mad?
>>2442395 Im switching to nightmare today too. but have any of you anons found a way to reset skills first? I fucked up not picking my healing ability once while leveling blademaster
>>2442395 It's the class that scales the most. You can get like 5x dps on your tree depending on what build you're going for. But it comes at the cost of having a godawful early game and bot scaling THAT well anyways - other classes can just put 1 point into a good skill and completely steamroll the rest of the game.
>>2445337 Yeah, this shit is buggy af on windows 11, now even if i end the install task, it still detects as if it is still installing. Fuck this. good luck mates.
>>2452935 I concur. The plan originally was to have a tie-in comic which explained a lot more; but it never got off the ground. But back in them days, everybody was doing cross-media shit. It’s a shame because these types of games can have a lot of play with the story. (See: Remnant, Secret World)
Fire damage really carries. It makes even my shitty 0dps build feel like a mediocre C-tier build. Instinctively I know that spectral and poison will lead to higher DPS with investment but I can't give up the convenience of lighting a whole group on fire and even the stragglers I only did 70% to end up burning to death.
There's something depressing about fighting a big tanky boss and fire does 80% of his health. Watching the huge 5% chunks get taken out of its HP compared to the piddly little trickle your DPS does.
>>2456394 This pistol shotty. It's supposed to drop from any enemy in the lvl 21-23 range, unfortunately the drop pool is bloated with a gorillion other unique weapons and armor pieces (https://wiki.london2038.com/London_Bosses) so it's nigh impossible to get what you actually want, unless im unaware of some pity mechanic, also >~10% unique drop rate with full luck gear >gear for other classes >only one boss that's in that lvl range >have to run through 2 zones to get to the fucker It's complete aids
>>2456762 nope, gotta turn off NM mode and grind an area in that range, then if you happen to drop it, upgrade at the nano forge to bring it up to your level https://wiki.london2038.com/Nano_Forge idk why they made it like this, maybe to populate the auction house with low level gear farmed by endgame players. With such a low player pop it doesn't seem to work very well.
my only gripe with this game so far has been the lack of additional action bars >>2463415 should have seen it when I had short shorts. theres a piece of armor that does it but I havent seen it in awhile
Last screenshot from Hellgate for me. It was a fun time playing with you guys. I just happened to see the thread in /v/ and decided to give it a shot. I had only played the game when it came out and my PC at the time could barely run it. Pretty fun running through it again.
Let's take some guild photos at 9:15 pm UTC, Saturday. >Time Zone Converter: https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=Hellgate+London+-+Group+Photos&iso=20260516T2115&p1=1440
>>2472463 Very fun actually! Having tried it waaay back when it was actually better than I expected. One anon mentioned but despite being instance based, you actually get to play with other anons more than in non instance mmos
>>2473679 Sorry anon, unfortunate schedule for you. Sometimes we take longer, but this game just didn't offer much. Join the next game and take some screenshots when you're having fun, they'll be good for memories.
>>2479537 I still am playing, but the population is mostly either people at max or doing hardcore, outside of our group i wouldnt say you would find anyone
Tunnel Snakes, I invite you to join in on the MMOdventure voting procedure.
Here's how you apply:

Any anon that has not yet applied for a voting token can do so by following this procedure: >screenshot your character and character information window, see pic related >attach this screenshot to an email addressed at mmodventure@proton.me
You will then be added to the token mailing list and can participate in future MMOdventure polls. The verification screenshot can be from a previous MMOdventure title.
please be sure to use any email provider that can: >read mail >send mail >attach jaypegs to a mail
The voting process will look as follows: >receive your unique token link via email, one for each round of voting >cast your vote in two rounds of voting that will be held to determine our next game >njoy results
Chose your favorite tube station, take a screenshot as described and send your verification picture to: >mmodventure@proton.me mmodventure@proton.me >mmodventure@proton.me mmodventure@proton.me
Oh man, Hellgate london was a favorite back in the day. Shame nobody's ever figured out why the game will randomly shit itself for several minutes down to 2 FPS, sometimes consecutively, for no goddamn reason.
>>2493008 I remember getting this bug once or twice in Global. I have not experienced it at all in London 2038. I do get the occasional crash when tons of shit is happening though, usually as summoner.
>>2482066 does this include all of the endgame stuff or is there still more things to do? I'm still not sure what I'm actually supposed to be doing after beating the game.
>>2509538 Perfecting your builds and trying to minmax your gear to more easily beat the bosses. Most of the endgame content (Stonehenge and Parliament) are designed to be done in groups, though they can be solo'd if geared properly. But yes, that's all that was developed for this game before it died.
