When an enemy turns static like it's a TV on antenna tuned into the wrong channel, they get higher DR and will spawn a large orb that homes in on the terminal. Using the stage ability to dispel it is ideal
How to deal with the orbs:
- Knockback the orbs so they die before reaching the terminal
- Deploy barriers, including echomancer and terminal barriers
- Use CC abilities like Skylar's large AOE ability
- Go into the mission with a higher TRM rating so you can tank more of the orbs

I was unable to do the third stage of the biweekly stair event because my terminal kept dying. I guess I will just level more pushers. And get a TRM memory leveled. The one we get from Thea's event seems super strong to me.
Also these spheres are the very first thing Scatlett cannot outright kill.

I actually don't think you can damage the spheres outright, they are only affected by displacement abilities
If you have Roar/Mo/Tian you can have them drop barriers to block some orbs coming in. With Skylar, group up a bunch to make them disappear before hitting terminal. When all that's on cooldown, the terminal has a bubble shield you can use. Sometimes you gotta use everything to survive a stage

Yeah, at the risk of triggering people - there is an actual gameplay in here. I auto most of the stuff daily but there are stages the AI cannot complete on its own. But then I also remember that such games doesn't take that much money to keep alive so as long as they don't do stupid stuff like introducing ENG voices, they should be fine.

As for upcoming characters, pic is Titia, a water tactician echomancer that's supposedly really powerful. Expected to come after Leilani, who comes after Uni, who is coming out in 2 days

In the strictest sense of the word, this game is a real time strategy... that you can pause at anytime and issue movement and ability commands at will
There's numerous mechanics to keep the game and enemy variety interesting; you've got elite enemies with shields that can be broken by strikers, you have airborne units that require rangers/skirmishers to attack as well as shoot projectiles, you can knock back and ring out enemies, you have ground and dome barriers and so do the enemies, you have stealth fog that enemies can use as well as poison fog, you have zombies, you have kamikaze bugs; humanoids xenomorphs evil robots you name it.
There's also environmental reactions that you can play to your advantage; you can create zones of fire and lightning and trigger explosions, melt the fire to create vapor that heals you, or instead create an ice zone that freeze enemies, electrocutes them with lightning or melt the ice zone to shred the enemy's armor. There's numerous teams you can build that can exploit these environmental mechanics, and there's even some team archetypes that don't need to mess with them if you don't want to.
I didn't even mention some of the endgame encounters in Joint Training, where they have sets of mechanics that you have to deftly push through to secure victory. Difficulties are on a generous sliding scale from 50% to 360%, and you can get all the gacha pulls just doing a middle of the road difficulty per week
I can gush about how cool the game is even further, but if you like team-based strategy games and want something different than Hoyo games Star Rail, there's a lot to like here

I'd say 9 is the big stopping point if you're running low on stamina to clear things, although I think skill levels is one of the easier things to increase thanks to event shops. After that you're starting to get those gold craft only materials which can take a full days worth of stamina to make.

It's a good memory trace for Uni and Feng teams that aren't killing her.
The jean trace the guy was talking to you about was for electrocution teams, Uni+Jean + Skylar are considered a powerful trio. Uni drops water, Skylar de buffs enemies, Jean electrocutes them all. Skylar isn't even needed just nice to have.
He probably presumed you were more interested in using Uni in her more famous combo.
Wet road/path ahead is great for Ice/water teams.
If you don't want Jean or want to do the Jean Uni electric wombo combo, I'd say go for it, or if you just want to enable Feng more, the only reason he'd probably persuade against that is to my understanding amongst the CN Freeze/Ice teams just aren't that big, Feng pretty much carries the entire thing on her back was the impression I got, at that point you'd probably also want to try and boreas to S1 on his rerun due to how much he enables feng with ice shred, but no idea when he's getting the rerun for a rate up.

Yeah and Feng team has so many extra DMG% buffs already (her captain skill, sirius MT, class-link triangle) and is lacking in bonus ATK% so in CN this trace is completely replaced with Jean/Tishi MT, which provide ATK% bonus

Is there a general best set up for engravings? Like I tend to go with 2 MST traces, 2 ATK, 1 DEF, and 1 VIT generally, but is that ideal? I imagine there are probably times I should swap something out for a TRM trace but desu I forget those exist sometimes

The type isn't really that important, it's the effect that matters. As long as you get 2 inspire traces you're good to run whatever else that makes your team better. Ideally you want to reach 1000 TRM for max level Terminal Skills but you can do that without any TRM traces.

If you're playing the corrosion team, then swap all MST traces with TRM because corrosion blast damage doesn't scale with MST. But current TRM traces in the global server suck (with the only exception being Secret Melody), so build them like every other team for now; just make sure your TRM exceeds 1000.

If you have Nightmare or past BP traces, swap one of the MST inspire traces with them; if not, then just keep using them. The corrosion inspire you mentioned (DEF trace Illusion of Flowers) could also be used, but if you're running Lorelle as your captain, she already has that as her captain skill.

Memory traces that used to be limited can be obtained through the MT focus banner 2 patches after debut
If you don't see the focus banner, you have to pull on the standard MT banner until it unlocks. I believe it's only 40-50 pulls, not a huge amount

Yeah, I don't think I can deal with it. I have nothing against the Chinese language but it just doesn't sound good to me. And I know for a fact I will be annoyed to have my characters talk in different languages.
I don't get why they are cutting corners in such a way that will harm them even more but maybe the studio has already given up on the global audience.

Never wrote a Leilani overview for the thread, but honestly there's not much to say. If you plan on pulling Solbyrd dupes (min S1 if you don't want to suffer, ideally S3) pull Leilani. If you like using the low rarity Corrosion characters she's worth considering for the QOL of forced detonation. Not much of a Corrosion user/don't watch Corrosion team clears so I can't really post my personal opinions of her or the team. Memory trace is for Corrosion teams so pull it if you play it.

For most of the echo hunt bosses:
T0 = Hassel, Long He (CN)
Both are using Life Anthem + Strength from Healing nexus skill (to proc Strength from Healing effect, use SR trace The Sun Never Set) + Starry Trail Triangle. Stack every single bonus damage nexus skill.
T1 = Scarlett wind team, build the usual wind team with Blood Ruvia Secret.
T2 = Anything else
In this echo hunt boss (Liu Ye), don't use corrosion team since the boss has corrosion res. For min-maxing, run Hailin Street nexus route, then pick Hailin Street skills to level 3 (the one that reduces poison damage and gives ATK when standing in poison mist).

If I lucked rolled lorelle I would have been going the corrosion angle, but I've had my heart set on elemental reactions, so I skipped wind, and corrosion and might skip summon as I never got luke but did get cen ying.
In my mind elemental producers will at least have more flexibility amongst themselves.
I might pull for midas because I like how haggard he looks though. Man I hope he's alright, kinda sad he's stuck in his wartorn human experimentation hellscape.

Luke isn't that important for summon team. He's nice but he'll be replaced when Midas drops. That being said physical/summon gets completely warped when Lionel drops so it doesn't really matter what your current roster is.

Thanks, don't have Hassel but I do have the others at least. I did notice the boss was pretty resistant to corrosion, which I found interesting considering it aligned with a new corrosion unit.

Welcome back after the outage
Before Mercy Upon Us ended, my casual butt finally updated engravings and was able to actually make progress on simultaneous raid
How did everyone else like the Leilani event? And what do you think of Titia/Jean event?

It was alright honestly, I liked the story and didn't mind the spotlight mechanic, didn't pull her as I didn't have Lorelle and was warned corrosion was dupe heavy. Kinda regret it as Leilani was cute and I got spooked by Lorelle.

I really like it, I'm always impressed when the devs attempt something different. This whole Trapped Murder Mystery esqe thing is really fresh honestly, reminds me of when they did the RPG world.
Like it more than leilani for only having the new nexus or uni for only having that side mode grinder mode.
Also Titia is a massive loveable dork. Almost didn't roll on her but ended up doing it because I like the character.
Can't say I know how I'd use her though, being able to inflict so many elemental reactions and reduce resistance is nice but I've really just been using, Feng, Uni, Boreas, with Mo as tank as not been having to many problems, atleast not ones Titia can solve.
Prisoners look pretty cool I wonder if they're future echomancers we can pull.

I didn't noticed memory traces level cap got increased to 90, I've been blowing my stamina on leveling up Titia. It's going to be awhile before I get setup a good trace set for nexus.

Ok I'm back this game looks fucking dope. Coming from Arknights, very longtime veteran. Any parallels to trace to this game, not really gameplay related but more about systems? Are events like in Arknights, where I should burn all my sanity on them to farm currency, buy the shop and use those resources to boost my team? Should I be focusing on lower rarity units that are easier to raise or can I just go all out on highest rarity?

One of the core gameplay is to create engraving (build) by running nexus. Nexus is basically the IS, and Memory Traces are relics. Once you finished, this build is applicable outside of nexus; so basically good engraving build with perfect memory traces equipped>>>characters. They stopped releasing 5* characters since 4 patch ago, so just assume everything coming forward are 6*. Freda (5*) is the best buffer in the game by far (think of skadi2 but with global range). Some 5* are needed for niche strategy (Su Xiao with her revive skill), some are better DPS than 6* because of their skills scaling (Lydia). There's no event farming, every single resources to upgrade characters/skills/memory traces can be swept(god I hate Arknights 6x auto).

Tishi - Pull: If you didn't pull Jean, pull Tishi unless you're not building water/electro team.
Tishi does noticeable more damage than Jean but doesn't benefit from all the busted memory traces and skills that square class has access to. We'll be getting a lot more diamond/triangle shilling post anni so that's something you could consider. Tishi's dupes are also very fucking good so if you've been saving and want to eventually pull Cog consider it.
Midas - Pull: Yes, unless you're skipping Lionel for some reason.
Midas acts as the carry for summons team and is also Lionel's best teammate thanks to his square class letting Lionel copy his stats. If you use Cen Ying or plan to play the game on easy mode with Lionel, pull Midas. Only his first dupe is relevant and is optional.

One of the requirements for having a level 3 inheritance skill is that you need at least 14 basic skills on your engraving. Do you have that?

Why do we need that many skills when we choose basis skills with our skill points?,
Based on the mechanic, number of basis skills that is lower than 7 will only takes you to Strength Works Miracle level 1, which means if you are doing Strength Works Miracle level 2 this time, u only get level 1 when you actually try to inherit it (if you only get level 1 for this time, then no worries, just ignore this sentence)
If the number of basic skills is between 7 to 13, even you have a level 3 Strength Works Miracle as inheritance skill and you are ready to run a boom boom engraving for your teams. You get level 2 instead of level 3 when you actually try to inherit Strength Works Miracle.
Therefore, make sure you have as many sub skills as possible just in the case(try to reach 14 or more than that), again, these engraving just for inheritance, USE ALL OF YOUR SKILL POINTS TO LEVEL THE SUB SKILLS IS FINE!!!
