At least the attacks are randomized and not a set pattern. All you really need is to cap def down and have a crit rate buff on hand for consistency, then the rest can be whatever.
I had a much harder time getting lucky with Himuka because of Minami removing stat downs, and the absurd amount of def debuff she inflicts causes their damage to skyrocket and push you below 50% long before you run out of shield.

I like Helly, but her launch UR is not that great for starters. You'd be better off getting an attacker with crit rate like Yume, Iruka, or Selena. If you plan on sticking around, Anri is meta in certain cases.
More importantly, after finishing your tutorial rerolls, you should make sure to get whoever you want out of the current normal banners.

The art to model transition is a bit different. 2D art can just do things the 3D model can't and the 3D model has to be functional. There is that and the fact Dolphin Wave is like PS2 era graphics really. I wonder what they could do if they had a bigger budget and a different engine?

It's the same as here. You farm the event to exchange for poses in the event shop. The difference is VV makes you give poses to each girl, whereas DW unlocks the pose for everyone.
VV also does not let you move girls around in a scene, so there's a constant issue with girls just being way too far apart to even frame.

I'm not sure if I have faith in animated project. Making 30 second long PVs look super clean is one thing but the nature of DW involving high-speed races would just turn its obligatory action sequences into 3DCG clusterfucks.
Gacha-based anime that are focused on fanservice rarely get the favorable end of the adaptation stick.
Far bigger franchises have tried and failed spectacularly.

I'm not really sure if there's a comfortable middle-ground for selling how cute the girls are to advertise the game and the inevitably awkward 3DCG action sequences.

Summarize the new mode

20 turns to fight through 10 rounds of enemies shooting at you. Bosses at wave 4, 7, and 10.
Your score is determined by the difficulty you select, with bonus multipliers depending on how many leftover turns and hp you have. Bring 2~4 healing memories. If you do not make it through the entirety of the 10 waves, you won't receive a score and won't use up an attempt.
Don't worry about correct guns or break; all enemies have 99 shield, and don't do much shield damage in return.
Contrary to the usual strategies, def debuff is not super strong here since enemy debuffs don't carry over. Focus on attack buffs, defense buffs, and maintaining crit rate throughout 10 turns.
If you did not roll for Eines and Amadea, you can still get a decent def buff if you have commander Kana and do the training quest.
Be sure to have a dolphin to cleanse stat downs like cow Yume or swimsuit Tsugumi.
After you beat Ultimate level 15, you unlock Impossible levels 16-25. Boss waves get an absurd jump in damage starting from 16 and I don't think it's feasible if you didn't whale the meta.

Also, don't forget to do the new daily tournament difficulty. There's new mats and there should be a new shop tab for it when the month rolls over.

I wouldn't give the def buffs too much thought unless it's the permanent kind. Buffs will get cycled out quickly since you don't get extra break turns. Kana gives +40% def buffs and they stack up to 5 times. Welfare Kohari also has small permanent ones, but I wouldn't count on it if the lower damage costs extra turns to kill enemies.
