No wonder this game is dying. First of all matchmaking is based on "engagement" and not on skill so if you are a free player you will get shat on. How many times I got round where my team was lvls 5-7 when enemy was two 11 and one lvl. Sole lvl diffrence make 3v3 game into 6v3 like play and you get obliterated. Then you get round against bots so you do not feel sad which is completely not fun. And then back to the first one when your team is overall 10 levels lower than enemy's.
And ranked? The amount of afkers or lvl9's in elo hell is astonishing. You eventually will go up to purple league where you need to have lvl12 champs to play but amount of afkers and grifters stays almost the same.
And no I will not pay to upgrade champs.

y'know, looking back throughout the year, the brawler releases have been pretty good. The devs are releasing more team-oriented brawlers where they each brought a unique playstyle with them. You have Meeple, Ollie, Finx, Jae-Yong, Lumi, Ziggy, etc. I feel as though this year the new brawlers were actually really good in terms of either bringing something new to the table or by taking a bunch of old mechanics and reinventing them into a new niche (such as Kaze, Alli, Trunk). I was originally going to say mortis but it only increases his max health by 500, he's still too squishy to get any use out of the "closest" attack in the game. I think Frank's since his buffies will raise his effective HP to 17,000~. Don't forget about his hypercharge buffie that extends the duration from 5 to 7 seconds and makes his main attack borderline unreactable.

We are so back that it might be over. I am very pleased by the new brawlers and the content. Buffies add vertical depth to a game that is close to maxing out its horizontal depth; and, I do believe that when polished, the more hardcore players such as myself will enjoy them. From what I can understand, you typically are supposed to get buffies near the end of your account's lifespan when you have nearly all of the gadgets, starpowers, and hypers (so whenever you collect said items from boxes/drops they fall back to gold and you have a use for the reimbursed gold). They're not new player friendly, they build on top of existing mechanics and they'll be far harder to get on a newer account than an older account. I think what I'm fearful the most about is Adrian's godawful balancing since I'm sure we'll get some bullshit, "every projectile is a chester hypercharge."

Got meself 10 buffies, still not a single fully buffied brawler tho.. shit's too expensive

Now, the main concern from them is if this will raise their revenue but honestly at this point when revenue for them goes up they become even more jewish and lazy. High revenue periods in this game have always translated into stagnation of the game itself

The real problem is that they're both expensive and random. Many players like myself now have to choose between upgrading new brawlers and buying buffies for old brawlers. You just can't do both with the current system. It will be very hard to get excited for new brawlers when you know that you won't be able to afford to build them.

Because the main issue of the game isn't balance which is relatively easy to fix if you have competent people around. The problem is that buffies are -the- thing that is going to replace hypercharges as the new source of depth and content in the game and the direction the game is heading.
The main problem for me is that buffies are passive abilities that just build your brawler. I still feel like gears and star powers are kinda pointless (gears less so because you at least can pick between 5 or 6 of them). Hypercharges and gadgets do make brawlers more interesting as their abilities are activated in game at crucial moments. Another issue I see is that the game is becoming a little convoluted with so many boxes, keys, points, etc.
I don't know if this will doom the game but it does feel like the team is doing downhill creatively

Gray can teleport on top of you, Kit has his jumps + invisibility, Jaeyong and Max are uber speedy, Berry can dash into you dealing 3k damage. What about the marksman class? Bonnie's whole playstyle is an ASSASSIN, Janet can fly on top of you and burst you down, Nani has her teleport and Piper's hypercharge makes her play extremely aggressively like an ASSASSIN. What about controllers? Sandy waits to get within range before bursting you down and going invisible like an ASSASSIN, Willow can control your teammates and burst you down like an ASSASSIN. What about damage dealers, are they our last hope? Moe plays like an ASSASSIN with his ult, Chuck can dash on top of you like an ASSASSIN, Shelly has her dash which plays her like an ASSASSIN, Lola has her teleport that can make her play like an ASSASSIN, Surge has his oppressive jump that makes him play like an ASSASSIN, Carl has his gadget and his super that allows him to play like an ASSASSIN, 8-Bit has his teleport that can make him play like an ASSASSIN. Mina, who is a damage dealer for some reason, is a textbook ASSASSIN.

I've been struggling this time a lot with the brawler box event. I'm getting nothing but full masters + prestige opponents almost every match, it was easy for the first like 7 boxes and then I've had horrible luck. Pierce feels kinda boring so I don't care as much. I've lost every match Ive played in that one gem map with bushes at the sides
