DMM already by default selects your user folder as the installation path. So, I tried again to see if I by chance changed it, still nada. And that's been the default path since I last played it back then almost 7ish months ago and before I deleted the game and DMM. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Visual C++ runtime libraries (C++ v14 x64) many times.

I've gotten schizo troubleshooting this that I'm just trying random shit and see what sticks. I started assuming it might be a codec problem, because you can interact with the black screen and see blue sparkle effects; there's just no title screen/visuals on display. I downloaded LAVFilters and every imaginable codec to see what would happen [/spoiler]nothing of course. I don't see myself figuring out what's causing the issue without doing a complete system reset, and I'm leaning towards not doing that.

It's a common question. The answer is the annoying part. Unlike Brown Dust, we don't have an actual Global release. This means we ride on patched versions of the countries that do.
The upside is, they have actually intended to release this on Global for years and had a lot of the story in english among the files. So the translators took those and filled the gaps with MTL. But then after the West kept increasing pressure, the korean companies sealed off western access. So we need a VPN to start the game if you are playing on PC. I don't play on android but there are directions on discord there for that too.

The wiki, scroll down, join the discord. They will have a guide to set it up including the right folders. In PC, JP version, which I play I had to download the DMM program (same one you use for games like Monmusu TD) and install Last Origin, then go to 2 folders and overwrite corresponding files.
The upside is you only need the VPN until the game is launched, then you can close DMM and the VPN. Bad part is we need to turn up VPN every time we launch.

This VPN shit is the main reason I desire a Global version. I'm already used to it cause other games like Nikke need you to log in the standalone launcher everey time, but yeah, it's cumbersome.

Since it was a collab, the event happen simultaneous in the KR server and the JP server, all units are still available BUT the event wasn't permanent, at least in the JP server (because is the one i play) you can get them in the gacha pool since i think they got added as permanent characters if you are lucky enough or you just can buy them with tuna in the shop pic related

Since Events tend to have nodes you can farm those rarer units, though at the same time you'd want a fast clear to farm as much as possible.
Take for example Labiata: she is an unique model. You aren't ever getting another Labiata as they integrate the plot that nobody ever managed to replicate one. Using cores on her will never be a waste because she isn't getting a farming node.
Enrai on the other hand is a bioroid that on release did not have one and it took a long time for an event to have one. If you really wanted Enrai, core linking was your best bet.

Well frankly speaking it isn't like cores are that rare so there is no issue to go linking like crazy if you want.

Oh... yes, you do that. Most of the time. Back before having the Auto Mode we basically had some crucial units have a non-core linked version because it spent less resources. So a maxed powerhouse for Boss Stages and a weaker one for farming stages to run over the course of 3 hours.
Nowadays, the game records your fastest clear and doesn't care how it was done. So you can put something like a level 1 unit to run auto farming on a stage you cleared in like 30 seconds and she will reap all the benefits at minimum cost and no danger.
Therefore, there is little reason to keep a spare duplicate.

As the other guy said, Cyclops Princess. Before I got dedicated teams, she alone properly built could deal with a lot.
Aside her, with more limited area, Eternity with a wounded unit below her, Glacias, Peregrinus with the delay chip are among the first that come to mind.
The fastest comp period is more dedicated and restricted in what it can do but the Veronica self-damage suicide reflect build too

Everything is very farmable. Your best aoes for non farming setups are titania, wraithy, gamma, melite, and cyclops princess. Wraithy and titania are some of the fastest clears in the game, not counting brunhilde idle and Veronica suicide teams.

I spoke too soon and in the 2nd part of chapter 13 the White Stalker node blasted the bikini off my Labiata and sent her to the medical bay in a naked dogeza.

Though I basically couldn't auto it because if any enemy got out of range, Angel would use her damnable 2nd skill that sets everyone's AP to a fixed value (usually less than before)
