Congrats! That's some heavy hitters spent in the first gen, but it will open up routes a ton in future games.

is my run invalid if I use 2x speed?
>>
>>58838770
I wouldn't personally think so. All you're doing is what you were already doing, just quicker.
>>

It's invalid if a mon faints while you are autopilot leveling and you still use it after that

Fuck. Today hasn't been the best and I'm pissed off.

So I caught a Nidoran and a Hoothoot at National Park but in a battle against a Psychic, I lost both my Spearow and my Quilava to a Kadabras Confusion which sucks so bad. Why did they need to add a Kadabra that early? It really fucked me up and I felt shit losing my starter and another good pokemon this early.

The rest of today was okay. I caught a Growlithe and I beat the gym leader of Goldenrod City Whitney despite how risky things where. First Bellsprout uses Poison Powder to poison her Clefairy though Clefairy uses Metronome and gets in two ice attacks, I'm lucky though as Bellsprout dodges all of her ice attacks and uses Vine Whip to take out Clefairy. Bellsprout was supposed to use Stun Spore on her Miltank but missed and took a Stomp that nearly killed her so I returned the plant and out came the Rock Geodude. A few Magnitudes and Rock Throws and Miltank is eventually killed and Whitney has a temper tantrum before handing me her badge.

After that, I could have made it to Ecruteak City but I wasted time at the Pokeathleon and I did get the Sudowoodo out of the way. Any advice for Morty?
>>
>>58840168
I try and come up with backstory for all my team members in Nuzlockes if that counts.
>>
>>58840951
That Kadabra is a menace. I'm always overly cautious when facing that Psychic because they don't give you anything that can resist Psychic-type at that point in the game (besides other psychic types).
>>
>>58840168
there's RubyClaw's lorelocke that gives a bit of backstory and lore based on myths

Speaking of lorelocke I managed to get back to where I wiped last time, using this team to beat Aaron before reaching Hearthome
I did try another time but Gardenia's Roserade destroys me if I don't get a Crobat,: definitely the MVP what a great pokemon
>>
>>58841570
It's the one on the same route where that Sudowoodo is.
>>
>>58842530
Yeah, i spent the entire 2025 playing gen 3 games where pursuit is barely a thing so i forgot it even existed until it was too late
>>
>>58842763
yeah, I know. I think that might be the only Kadabra-trainer in the game, (at least until Kanto because I can't remember Sabrina's gym all that well).
>>
>>58843730
Today has been interesting. Things started off bad but today ended on a positive note.

So first I lost two pokemon to a double with two Beauties who I never wanted to battle both in the first place. First a Clefable used Metrone and landed a Thunder which instantly killed my Zubat. This really upset me because I had left Zubat in the daycare to become stronger and even bonded with her in hopes she would become a powerful Crobat. Then Growlithe was killed by a Wigglytuffs Pound. This sucked as both today and yesterday, I had lost four pokemon that could have been useful against Morty.

But things did get better. I caught a Spinarak on my way to Ecruteak City and then I caught a Koffing in Burned Tower. While grinding, I caught a Magnemite and Geodude evolved into Graveler while Bellsprout evolved into Weepinbell. The egg that was given to me in Violet City also hatched into a Togepi.

And then I took on the gym leader of Ecruteak City Morty. Before the battle while in his gym, Hoothoot evolved into Noctowl and Spinarak evolved into Ariados. The two newly evolved pokemon would be put to good use and turned what could have been a hard battle into a one sided battle. First Ariados used Shadow Sneak and killed Mortys Ghastly instantly and then did the same to his first Haunter which did land a Curse but all it meant was Ariados had to be returned and out came Noctowl who turned out to be a menace because Mortys Gengar did absolutely nothing to Noctowl, Gengar used Hypnosis but Noctowls Insomnia kept it awake and also managed to put Gengar to sleep with it's own Hypnosis. Then Noctowl made sure to use Reflect incase Gengar woke up and used Sucker Punch before annihilating Gengar with Confusion. As for the second and final Haunter, Noctowl did the same thing, Reflect, Hypnosis and Confusion, one Curse from Haunter did nothing and only contributed to Mortys defeat. This made me extremely happy.

Now any advice for Chuck?
>>
>>58843932
I KNEW Metronome couldn't be trusted!
>>
>>58843932
Noctowl is a pretty cool guy
>>
>>58843932
>double with two Beauties
I've had one of those clefables in that same battle metronome explode on me in the past
Lost an elekid and my starter in 1 turn
>>
>>58844084
Yeah fuck Metronome.
>>58844546
Noctowl is based, I hope Bohemia carries my team.
>>58845067
Yeah and I've lost pokemon to them in the past. They suck.
>>
>>58843932
I see you've discovered the trick to beating Morty, he can't do anything to a Normal type with Insomnia as long as you're mindful of Sucker Punch on his last two team members. Chuck is all about getting Focus Punch off, with stall moves like Double Team and Hypnosis. His Primeape has Rock Slide too. Gonna get ahead of this now, rematching trainers in HGSS is based around the Pokegear, each trainer has a day and time frame they can be rematched, and you are going to want to find a good trainer to grind off of once you reach the league.
>>
Today has been awful.

First I caught a Natu in the Ruins of Alph but when I entered Union Cave, I would go on to lose 3 pokemon to overpowered trainers which pissed me off.

First I lose Slowloke to a Pokemaniacs Kangaskhan using Bite. Then I lose two of my pokemon to a Ace Trainera Polwhirl. First Weepinbell is killed by a Body Slam and then Mareep is surprisingly killed by a Bubble Beam that landed a Crit and it was raining thanks to Poliwhirl using Rain Dance. This sucks as I still remember when Mareep helped out against Falkner.

Afterwards things went whatever. I received a Eevee from Bill in Goldenrod City. I caught a Tauros, then a Tentacool and then a Mantine. Magnemite evolved into Magneton and I'm now at Cianwood City.

Any advice for Chuck?
>>
>>58845713
Thanks for the advice.

Chuck is gonna be hard though, I really don't want him to use Double Team and I'm scared of that Rock Move his Machoke has. Kinda wish I still had Slowpoke.

>>58846013
Having an move that always hits like Aerial Ace helps a lot, but your current best bet might be Tentacruel. Tentacool evolves at level 30 and its typing resists most of the moves Chuck uses, just have it hold a Chesto in case Hypnosis from his Poliwrath hits.

Here's what happened today.

I received a Shuckle at Cianwood City and I was able to beat the Mystery Man Eusine himself. Magneton paralysed his Drowzee before using Spark followed by a Magnet Bomb to take out Drowzee, Graveler took out Electrode with Magnitude and Noctowl used Confusion on his Haunter after it had already used Curse making things worst for it.

Unfortunately in the Cianwood City gym, I would go on to lose two pokemon against a Blackbelts Hitmonchan. Here's how things went down, I had Noctowl sent out but unfortunately his Hitmonchan nearly took Noctowl out with Thunder Punch and Ice Punch so I switched out to Graveler who used Magnitude but could not finish Hitmonchan off due to getting Magnitude 4 and 5 instead of 9 or 10, Hitmonchan eventually lands a powerful Mach Punch and Graveler is taken out which sucks as he had been my highest defense and helped out against both Bugsy and Whitney. I also had to sacrifice Ratatta who was just a HM slave at that point just to heal Noctowl so Noctowl could stand a chance of finishing Hitmonchan off. Ratatta was killed by a Fire Punch.

After all that, I was still able to beat the gym leader Chuck. First I had Noctowl used Confusion over and over again before Primeape could reach pure evasion by spamming Double Team and eventually Primeape was taken out. Against Poliwrath, Noctowl used Reflect first while taking a hit from Surf, Noctowl however healed by using Pluck to attack Poliwrath and eating its Sitrus Berry, Noctowl had to keep using Confusion because Poliwrath knew Focus Punch which lands whenever your pokemon doesn't attack so we couldn't use Hypnosis and only use Reflect when needed, eventually Poliwrath was taken out.

After that, I headed east and caught a Machop at Mt Mortar and caught a Mankey outside of Mt Mortar before entering Mahogany Town. I'm gonna try and catch the red Gyarados and any advice for Pryce?
>>
page 9 bump!
>>
>>58848878
The Red Gyarados will be a good edition to your team if you can manage, and it will be your best option against Pryce's Piloswine. Unfortunate that you lost Graveler right before the Team Rocket subplot reaches the endgame.
>>
page 9 bump!
>>
No casualties today.

I caught a Girafarig and then a Red Gyarados at the Lake of Rage. While dealing with Team Rocket in there Hideout, I also caught a Voltorb.

Then I took on the gym leader of Mahogany Town Pryce who was somewhat difficult. First he sent out Seel and i had Magneton use Spark but before I could take out Seel, Pryce had Seel returned to Piloswine could come out instead. I had Gyarados take out Piloswine with Surf but it was difficult due to Blizzard nearly killing Gyarados multiple times. Eventually Magneton took out Dewgong with Spark despite its best attempt to heal itself with Rest and Seel was finally finished of by Magnetons Spark too.

After that, I caught a Seel in Whirl Island and tomorrow I will be heading to the Cliffs of Johto and taking on Jasmine. Any advice for Jasmine?
>>
Just beat the fourth gym and I destroyed Crasher Wake even with perpetual rain by doing some risky pp stalling on the Quagsire. By switching between Empoleon and Rotom he ran out of Earthquakes and then between Gyarados and Empoleon for the final 5 Ice Punch pp. Thanks to the multiple Intimidate drops Jolteon could come and set 2 Agilties before switching to Gardevoir who traces Quagsire's Water Absorb leaving him with no choice but to use Recover, then setting up 6 Calm Minds and a Reflect. With this even the Swift Swim Floatzel got outsped by a single point and his Aqua Jet was left unusable thanks to Gardevoir Water Absorb. And thanks to the Reflect Gardevoir could take a hit out of the Focus Sash Sharpedo before cleaning the rest with Moonblast and Magical Leaf. It was very risky regarding crits but I am glad it paid off lol
>>
>>58851762
Not fourth, fifth!
>>
>>58851221
Jasmine is as easy as having a good Magnitude or Earthquake user. You might have a bit more difficulty with her, maybe have Tauros with Rock Smash deal with the Magnemites, which have Magnet Pull for their ability so don't throw Magneton in, and if you evolve Tentacool it should be able to deal with Steelix with Surf.
>>
>>58840844
Had the same happen to my kadabra except with sucker punch. Poor thing never got a single move out

Today has been exhausting.

I caught a Wooper in Cliff Cave and I later also caught a Chinchou and a Diglett.

Afterwards I beat the gym leader of Olivine City Jasmine.

First I sent Ariados against her Magnemite who I had taught Dig. Unfortunately Magnemite used Thunder Wave first to paralyse Ariados which prevented Ariados from using Dig and then a Thunderbolt nearly killed him. So I switched out to Tauros who also nearly got killed by Thunderbolt so I switched out to Magneton instead. Taking out her first Magnemite took forever as it kept using Thunder Wave and Super Sonic on Magneton, I took the time to heal Ariados because luckily enough Magneton was strong enough to take hits and eventually after enough Sparks and using Thunder Wave to give Magnemite a taste of its own medicine, the first Magnemite was taken out. Next Jasmine sent out her second and final Magnemite in which I had Ariados use Dig against and despite another Thunder Wave paralysing Ariados, he managed to land a Dig which took out Magnemite instantly. Finally she sent out her powerful Steelix, I sent out Tentacool to use Surf but Steelix was way to powerful and used a Iron Tail to nearly kill Tentacool, not liking how things where, I decided to quickly heal Tauros but sacrificing Tentacool who was killed by another Iron Tail. Tauros came in to finish off Steelix with Surf and it was eventually over.

After that battle came a long and exhausting moment dealing with Team Rocket and there bullshit at the Radio Tower.
>>
In my battle against Team Rocket Executive Petrel, I lost a team member and I was constantly worried. First Noctowl uses Confusion to kill his first Koffing and then his Weezing which manages to poison Noctowl with Sludge so I send out Mankey against his next Koffing to heal Noctowl but unfortunately despite Mankey best effort, it also gets poisoned by Sludge and taken out by a Tackle. Noctowl comes in and takes out the Koffing with Confusion and proceeds to destroy his next two Koffings with Confusion as well but one Koffing managed to lower Noctowls accuracy with Smokescreen, not wanting to risk it, I had Magnetoncome out and finish off the final Koffing with Spark, when it's accuracy was lowered, I just had Magneton use Lock On before using Spark. This battle made me anxious because his pokemon can Self Destruct at any moment.

While dealing with Team Rocket, Wooper evolved into Quagsire and then I took on the final three remaining Team Rocket Executives. Against Proton, Magneton took out Golbat with Spark and Noctowl took out Weezing with Zen Headbutt. Against Ariana, Noctowl took out Arbok with Zen Headbutt, Magneton took out Murkrow with Spark and Noxtowl took out Vileplume with Fly. And against Archer, Gyarados took out Houndour and Houndoom with Surf while Noctowl took out Koffing with Zen Headbutt.

After all those Team Rocket battles, I have Team Rocket Fatigue but they are finally gone. Any advice for Clair?

Grind. You are not presently ready for Clair, and she's difficult even on the best attempts. It's not going to be fun, grinding in Johto sucks due to the level curve, but it's got to happen. Minimum level across your team should be 38, and don't grind south of Blackthorn City. The Geodude and Graveler know Self-Destruct, and the cave nearby has Wobbuffet with Shadow Tag.
A trick that i've picked up for grinding in Johto is using the Pikegear to keep rematching the same trainers. The Gentleman in Olivine Lighthouse is pretty good for this, all you have to do is leave the room and you can endlessly call and battle him from 10am to 8pm today.
>>
>>58851762
Oh I caught Mantyke of all things
Luckily I managed to catch it since it had the "An Invader to our World" lorerule which prevents me using pokeballs or great balls and I was running out on my other balls

Today has been difficult.

I head to Blackthorn City and on the way I catch a Poliwag, a Swinub in Ice Path and then a Gligar.

I then take on the gym leader of Blackthorn City Clair who turns out to be my hardest battle yet and I nearly lost. First I sent out Magneton against her Gyarados who used Spark and managed to paralyse it but her Gyarados did do alot of damage back, Magneton went to finish off Gyarados but she switched out to Dragonair who took the hit and ended up paralysed too. I sent out my own shiny Gyarados who managed to get paralysed by her Dragonairs Thunder Wave which made things difficult but eventually after enough Ice Fangs, Clairs first Dragonair goes down first, next comes her second and final Dragonair and it uses Dragon Pulse and unfortunately lands a hit and my Gyarados is the first casualty of this battle. I send out Noctowl to take down the final Dragonair with Fly and Zen Headbutt but Clair is strong and Noctowl is nearly killed so i send out Quagsire to distract her while i heal Noctowl, Quagsire is killed by a Body Slam from Dragonair. Noctowl returns and eventually finishes off the final Dragonair and then comes her scary Kingdra, because Noctowl took alot of damage the second time it tried to take out her Dragonair, I sent out Tauros while healing Noctowl and unfortunately Tauros was killed by one Hydro Pump. Noctowl stood strong using its two iconic moves and even using Reflect but Clair keeps healing her Kingdra and Kingdra deals alot of damage forcing me to heal multiple times, unfortunately Kingdra uses Dragon Pulse and lands a crit and my strongest pokemon so far Noctowl is killed. Annoyed and scared, I sent out Ariados just so I could heal Magneton, Ariados was taken out by a Dragon Pulse and would become the final casualty but atleast Magneton came out and finished of the Kingdra with Magnet Bomb. Finally Clair sent her Gyarados back out and Magneton killed it with Spark ending the fight but I had lost five pokemon.
>>
>>58858593
After that grueling battle, I catch a Dratini in the Dragons Den. I don't think it's looking good but any advice for the Kimono Girls? I know they are a run killer.
>>
>>58858599
Kimono Girls are NOT a joke. You can't heal between fights either so either the Pokémon in the lead slot gets worn down or the Pokémon you switch into gets worn down.

Unfortunately, there's no real advice I can give you against them since they are a party-member check. If you're allowed to use items in battle: I suggest you stock up on non-potion healing items and X-items. Even if you're down to only Magneton, hope isn't lost.
>>
page 9 bump!
>>
>>58858599
Echoing the other anon. If you can manage to weather the Kimono Girls you'll have a legendary to work with, which will help out a bit but won't be enough for the E4. There's also the rival battle close to the endgame of Victory Road as well so watch out for that.
>>

>>
It's over, I lost my nuzlocke.

So I take on the five Kimono Girls way too early. Magneton was able to beat Umbreon and Espeon with Magnet Bomb but when Flareon was next, I knew I was gonna be screwed, I sent out Pidgey to use Sand Attack but Pidgey was killed by a Quick Attack, Diglett came out and next to use Dig but was also killed by a Quick Attack and while Seel managed to land a Surf, Florence killed Seel with Last Resort and then out came Magneton, Magneton did managed to use Thunder Wave and Paralyse Flareon but Flareon used Fire Blast and Magneton out instantly.

By this point, I knew it was to late but I decided to continue anyway and use up all the remaining pokemon in my reserves but they would all begin to be killed by the Umbreon as I had to start the battle again. In order, I lost Mantine, Swinub, Voltorb, Girafarig, Paras, Machop, Poliwag, Shuckle, Eevee, Nidoran, Dratini, Chinchou, Gligar, Caterpie, Xatu, Togepi, Hoppip, Abra and finally Koffing. And with that my nuzlocke was over.

I wish i had took more time to grind and became more patient, mabye I could learn how to hack in rare candies, mabye things would have been better if I hadn't lost my starter or pokemon that where valuable at the beginning but there is not much I can do. Tomorrow I'm gonna do Pokemon Emerald next as that game is easier to grind in and doesn't have low level pokemon torwards the end.
>>
This image and the image before it are all the pokemon I had this nuzlocke that all unfortunately died. RIP to them all.
>>58859007
Yeah I'm well aware of how tough the Kimono Girls are, I still didn't give up even after losing Magneton but unfortunately it was to much.
>>58860419
It's unfortunate, I would have loved to have used Ho-oh.
>>
>>58861483
Rip. It's rough losing team members here because of the limited grinding spots to get new members up to speed. At least Emerald will be a bit smoother with grinding.
>>
>>58861472
>too many under-leveled party members
the Johto level curve strikes again. I didn't need to grind the two times I beat HGSS because I used 2 Pokémon each time, but I can see how anyone else wouldn't have enough EXP.

RIP run. sorry for your loss.
>>
>>58862073
>>58862286
I know who I'm picking but who would you pick?

For Emerald as a starter of course.
>>
>>58862420
I don't like using starters as active party members in my run. I typically go with a water-type because they usually learn the most HMs and give the rival the worst typing of the 3, grass (to make the game easier). Even if you do plan on using your starter, while Torchic is good, Mudkip is still probably the best objective choice with it's amazing typing and solid bulk.
>>

>>
>>58862420

I just began my Pokemon Emerald nuzlocke and for the first day, things have gone amazing.

I picked Mudkip as my starter and I caught several pokemon, these pokemon are Poochyena, Wingull, Zigzagoon, Wurmple, Shroomish which was caught in Petalburg Woods, a Nincada and a Whismur caught in Rusturf Cave which only has Whismurs for some reason.

I was able to beat the gym leader of Rustboro City Roxanne very easily. First Wingull one shotted her first Geodude with Water Gun, then Shroomish used Absorb to take out her second Geodude as well as healing itself after the rock pokemon used Rock Tomb, then came her Nosepass, the plan was simple, Shroomish would use Leech Seed, then Stun Spore and the superior Mudkip would come in to take out Nosepass with Mud Slap to lower its accuracy as well as use Water Gun to take it out, this is because Nosepass can become genuinely tough however Nosepass used Block after Shroomish used Leech Seed preventing me from switching out, regardless Shroomish used Stun Spore and after a few Absorbs, I prevailed without losing a pokemon and without the help of my starter which is a shame but oh well.

With that out of the way, anything I should know about the battle against Brawly?
>>
>>58864670
>anything I should know about the battle against Brawly?
his makuhita can be a problem because its bulky and hits hard, and if you dont have a strong flying/psychic attack for it you might want to grind a bit before the fight
>>
>>58864670
Brawly is utterly shut down by Beautifly/Dustox, but that would probably be the most use you get out of it without risking a death, so if you wanted to Wingull could work decently also.

>>
>>58865454

>>58866258

>>
Here's what happened today.

First I went to Dewford Town and I did some fishing catching both a Magikarp and a Tentacool. Then I caught a Makuhita in Granite Cave before taking on the gum leader of Dewford Town Brawly.

The fight with Brawly was tricky.

First I had Wingull take out Machop with Wing Attack though Machop did deal alot of damage with Seismic Toss, Wingull had no issue taking out Meditite with Wing Attack and refusing to allow Meditite to attack with Focus Punch and finally out came Brawlys Makuhita, scared of its Vital Throw, I sacrificed Poochyena just to heal Wingull, Poochyena was killed by a Arm Thrust and finally Wingull came out to use Wing Attack, Makuhita did nearly kill Wingull with Vital Throw but Wingull got lucky and landed a crit killing Makuhita before Makuhita killed him.

After that gym battle, I take the boat to the mainland, I unfortunately lose my low leveled Makuhita to a Tubers Zigzagoon using Headbutt which I was trying to grind him up to be useful later for the Norman battle but Mudkip did evolve into Marshtomp. I also caught a Electrike before making it to Mauville City.

Don't worry about the infamous third rival battle, I've already did it with no issue. Any advice for Wattson?

Here's my progress today.

I caught a Volbeat while grinding for the battle against the gym leader of Mauville City Wattson. The battle against him was way too easy. Marshtomp was able to use Mudshot to take down Voltorb, Electrike, Magneton and Manectric all in one hit.

After the battle with Wattson, I battle against the Winstrate family but I unfortunately lose Electrike to a Taillow while battling the dad of the family, sucks because Electrike doesn't learn an electric move until level 20 which upsets me.

But Wingull evolved into Pelipper and then I caught a Numel and later a Camerupt in Fiery Path.

Tomorrow it's time to face Flannery.

About to take on RED and put an end to my suffering in Gold.
Typhlosion, Victreebell, Gengar, Nidoqueen, Machamp and Qwilfish.
Machamp was my sole survivor against Lance in the E4, Typhlosion the sole survivor against Blue.

>Tomorrow it's time to face Flannery.

>>
>>58870040
Even with two Water types Flannery is no joke, all because of that Torkoal of hers. If you can weather the Overheats and the white herb you'll win.
>>
Currently doing a Gen 1 Bug only run, team is obviously pic related (only bugs in this gen).
Beat all the gyms at level 38, but the pre-League rival fight is a brickwall, and only because of that fucking Charizard with Flamethrower, I can't outspeed it for the life of me. Probably gonna need to grind a little bit.
>>
>>58871129
My boys got it done, even with a shaky start. Nido took out Pika with ease, Espeon ended up causing me problems as I misclicked my input and sent out a different pokemon than Gengar, it used reflect but when I swapped in Gengar it one tapped me with psychic. I realized after that I didn't really prep well for psychic but my only neutral types were not specially bulky anyway and I am saving my Murkrow and Sneasel encounters for gen 4 when it can evolve. All in all finished the fight with the 2 survivors that stuck through everything I threw them at before. But a win's a win. Hardcore rules, "genlocke" not going to use encounters again that champion in future games, though I might have to reconsider for remakes and such.
Silver was off to a terrible start, ended up losing everything but my Totodile in Violet gym, lost my Ekans encounter as well right after so I reset again and made it through to Ecruteak.
>>
>>58872060
Based, glad you beat Red, I heard that battle is incredibly tough and I've never battled him because I can never get to that part in the game.
>>
Trying to run through all the games, what are some nice rules to use on my run so that the early gens aren't laughably easy?

Today has been good and bad.

I caught a Spinda while on my way to Fallarbor Town but in a stupid double battle I didn't want to he apart off, I lost my very own starter Marshtomp to a Ninja Boys Koffing using Self Destruct. Fuck Koffing.

Afterwards I catch a Lotad, witness Shroomish evolve into Breloom, catch a Zubat in Meteor Falls and even catch a Spoink which I named after your mom at Jagged Pass.

The battle against the gym leader of Lavaridge Town Flannery was lucky for me. First Pelipper took out her Numel in one Water Gun and then my own Numel took out her Slugma with two Magnitudes, Pelipper came out again and defeated Camerupt with Water Gun and then used Super Sonic on her defensive Torkoal causing it to attack itself, then to my luck, Pelipper lands one Water Gun and gets a crit and Torkoal is killed instantly.

Honestly I thought I might be screwed without my Water starter but I can carry on. Any advice for Norman who is actually a real threat though?

It can be difficult, I think the bulk of the difficulty in Gen2 is Johto, especially the first half and the E4. Especially the E4, depending on your rules, is pretty unforgiving. Once you get to Kanto you get a ton of encounters but Blue and Red specifically are both pretty beefy. Gen2 without candies is not much fun, been a few years when I was playing without them and ended up crashing out when I lost to the E4 on both Gold and Silver at the same time lol.
>>58872886
The one crit room and evasion room are stupid in the gym, I think Normie himself is pretty easy though it's been a while since I played vanilla RSE. Pelipper should know protect which could help with Slakings but I doubt it has the power to KO, might need to get lucky with some confuses haha. I love Breloom but it's so frail, doubt it could even two hit unless you overlevel for Sky Uppercut.
>>
>>58872886
That is a seriously unlucky way to lose Marshtomp, but i guess if there was one way it would be via Self-Destruct. Norman does have Psybeam at the start of battle and Faint Attack on his Vigaroth and Slaking. Your team needs levels too, otherwise they'll get one shot.
>>
Today hasn't been so great.

I caught a Baltoy in the desert and I even caught a Trapinch in Mirage Tower while also collecting the Claw Fossil and taking it to the Devon Corporation for restoration.

I then went on to take on the gym leader of Petalburg City Norman but he and his Slaking turned out to be a pain in the ass and I would go on to lose a pokemon.

First I had Breloom take out Spinda in one Mach Punch as it landed a crit, then Breloom used Counter to take out his Vigoroth when it went for a Facade, then I healed Breloom before having Breloom use Counter again when his Linoone used Facade before finishing it off with a Mach Punch and finally Norman sends out his Slaking which is a problem. First I send out Pelipper who uses Protect whenever Slaking goes to attack and while it's loafing around, I take the opportunity to heal Breloom and use Super Sonic which ends up doing nothing, in-between Protects, Pelipper uses Wing Attack which those not much damage and I eventually run out of Protects so while Norman heals Slaking, I then send out Breloom who gets in a Leech Seed before using Counter when Slaking uses Facade doing some damage but Norman heals his Slaking again and Breloom lands a Mach Punch dealing some damage while the Leech Seed drains Slakings HP, unfortunately while I have Breloom use Counter again, Slaking lands a Facade and for stupid reasons, it lands a crit which is stupid and Breloom is killed in one hit despite healing itself with the Leech Seed. Pissed off, Pelipper comes out and finishes Slaking off with Wing Attack along with the Leech Seed draining it and atleast Breloom was able to use its Spore ability to make Slaking go to sleep.

After that battle, I catch a Voltorb in New Mauville but I lose Baltoy to a Experts Hariyama using Vital Throw but I did catch a Taillow later and then I received my Anorith from Rustboro City.

Now I'm gonna focus on the water route.

Voltorb evolves into Electrode but while exploring the Abandoned Ship, i lose Taillow to a Sailors Machoke using Revenge after Taillow used Wing Attack. Today has been great and I got lucky against Winona.

So first I received a Castform at the Weathwr Institute and I later caught a Oddish but I somehow lost Electrode to a Weather Girls Castform that used Weather Ball in the Rain and took down an Electric type. That's fucked up but I did catch a Shuppet to make up for it.

As for the battle against the gym leader of Fortree City Winona, I had a perfect strategy.

First I had Shuppet use Thunderbolt to take out Swablu, Swablu did use Mirror Move which meant Shuppet took some damage but Swablu was defeated, then out came Tropius and I sent out Slugma, Tropius stupidly used Sunny Day making the sunlight strong giving Slugma the perfect chance to take out Tropius with Overheat in one hit as it's fire moves got boosted in the sun, next came Pelipper, I sent out Castform who changed into its fire form and I healed Shuppet while Castform became a sacrifice. Pelipper used Water Gun and Castform took alot of damage, when the sun faded, Castform used Sunny Day to bring back the sun before being killed by her Pelippers Aerial Ace, Shuppet came out next to one shot her Pelipper with Thunderbolt and because it was still sunny, Slugma was able to one shot her Skarmory with a Overheat too. Finally out came her Altaria, if I still had Castform, I would have had it used Hail to boost ice attacks but one Ice Beam from my own Pelipper was enough to kill Altaria in one hit.

And after that, the battle was over and I've beaten one of the hardest gym leaders in Hoenn but I still have Tate and Liza as well as Juan to go who are both hard.

Littlemon team #44 to beat Alpha Sapphire's E4 + Champ. Deathless & reliable strategy. No Potions, level cap, "usual nuz rules".
Strong team. Two support Grass Pokemon and three sweepers.
Pansage has a great strategy with Chesto + Rest + Recycle. Seedot has good Defense and Leech Seed.
Roggenrola has Rock Polish, Iron Defense and Rock Slide. That's a good combination. Flinching is never in the script, because the run needs to be reliable. But flinching from Rock Slide is a great bonus.
Smoochum is awesome. Great Sp.A and a good variety of moves.
Shuppet is a surprising hero. It learns Phantom Force and Sucker Punch. And has great Attack and Speed. What else do you need? Well, there's two move slots left so why not have Confuse Ray and Thunder Wave as well.

Sidney:
>rogger sets up and sweeps
Phoebe:
>shuppet without setup just ohko's everything with phantom force
This is a scary fight, since Banette can use Grudge, Drifblim can counter with its own Phantom Force and Chandelure's Flame Body can burn. But the Grass Pokemon are a backup so if it goes south then we still have plan B. Killing Mega Sableye required a master plan. Roggenrola baits Power Gem and Smoochum switches in and it's equipped with Weakness Policy so its Sp.A is sharply boosted and it kills Sableye with one Ice Beam
Glacia:
>smoochum and seedot pp stall abomasnow out of blizzard pp so rogger can enter and setup and sweep
Drake:
>choice scarf smoochum ohko's everything with ice beam
LOL kwab
Steven:
>debuff skarmory
>smoochum sets up and sweeps with shadow ball

KOs:
Smoochum 13
Roggenrola 12
Shuppet 5

Hello everyone, I'm gonna be away for a while because I'm going to a convention which means for three or four days, there won't be any pokemon nuzlocke updates because I won't be playing for now, I'll probably get back to Emerald soon though. I was gonna play yesterday but it I was busy planning my trip and checking my bank balance and finding a affordable hotel room. I will be bringing my DS to play with on the train rides but I won't be playing Pokemon Emerald because I don't want to lose that game, gonna bring 42 all time classics(clubhouse games) instead because that game is replaceable with another copy and can be bought in CEX for less than 2 quid.

I will be going to a anime and gaming convention and I want to ask a question here. How do I get stepped on by a hot female cosplayer?

I'm trying to get stepped on by a cosplayer so badly. I heard that it happens alot at cons in the US and Japan but not I live in the UK and I do not have the money to support a holiday(vacation) to either of those countries.

The issue is at UK cons tend to be more stricter and worst, the ones I go to is the anime league conventions but they tend to be more family friendly and less big with less room and there never is a hot cosplayer holding up a sign willing to step on people and I'm to nervous to ask cosplayers to step on me myself.

Please help, I am really desperate to have my dream true before I get to old and reach my 30s, I want to do this when I'm young.

I'll have another go at it in a couple days I think.
Dead team: Bayleaf, Vulpix, Sandshrew, Heracross, HootHoot and Magikarp (had exp share). Even if I somehow killed it with Bayleef I have no clue what the 4th poke was and I probably would have lost anyway. Sucks losing to an optional but I know better now.

Thanks! The next team core is Skrelp & Pumpkaboo, and the final team core is Houndour & Trapinch. Pumpkaboo can learn some odd moves, I'm experimenting with that. Flame Charge to boost Speed and Charge Beam to boost Sp.A so that sweeps Phoebe's team..? Wooper or someone can weaken Banette's attacks, but then I need to worry about Toxic.. Maybe I should quickly kill Banette and pick another target for boosting..
I'm going to miss planning like this after it's over.

Currently going through my fourth (serious) attempt of Ultra Moon, just beat Totem Kommo-o thanks to this guy.

It's like he's been engineered to cripple Totem Pokémon. Access to eviolite means he was basically guaranteed to survive a hit while removing all stat boosts with Clear Smog. He even managed to inflict burn on Kommo-o with Flame Body to cripple it even further. From there the whole fight was basically over.

He was also instrumental against Totem Mimikyu due to fire's resistance to fairy and Clear Smog being effective through Mimikuy's Disguise while still breaking it. Even as a Magby with no eviolite he was still great against Lurantis. What a guy. Needless to say I'm not too worried about Totem Ribombee.

Looking for some bonus rules to try out. Something to make a vanilla game more challenging and interesting without just playing a romhack instead. I've already tried the classic ones, such as no items in battle, only using the same number of mons as a gym leader, etc, as well as some less common ones like taunt lock, technician lock, no STAB moves, no TMs/tutors and no HM moves in battle, things like that. Eventually, I want to create something similar to the heat system/pact of punishment from hades for nuzlockes, I just need more ideas for additional rules to try out.
>>
have you guys ever done a double-nuzlocke? (nuzlocking 2 games simultaneously and allowing yourself to trade between them)
>>
>>58886978 This is what my team looks like after a succesful Glacia fight. jfc
It's funny how Glacia is the hardest fight since Ice is one of the worst types defensively. The problem is Abomasnow who summons Hail on entry which makes Blizzard 100% accurate and if you kill it with Fire / Fighting she sends out Walrein or Froslass. Very well played, ngl.
The strat is:
>golett kills abomasnow with fire punch
>punches froslass into healing range with shadow punch so there's a free switch
>nosepass kills froslass
>pp stall walrein out of blizzard with switching
>pumpkaboo out of all pokemon sweeps
This is the best I can come up with. Every single one, except Houndour, out of my remaining Pokemon are weak to Glacia's team (she has Freeze-dry against Water).
My "reliable strat" rule is like I could upload the save file and instructions and anyone could do this. This is what I can do now and there's crits, Hail boosted Evasion for Froslass and Beartic, Body Slam Paralyze, getting Frozen from all of her team and just being unlucky. Man.
>>
Lost motivation to play after losing Altaria and then Accelgor soon after, then practically forgot I was doing this run in the first place. But now we're back to finish the final stretch.
Gigalith joined the team because I wanted something super effective against ice types for team Plasma, then Heracross replaced Accelgor and may have left it a bit obsolete already. Don't really have anything I'd want to replace it with so for now we'll wait and see.
Marlon is probably the worst 8th gym leader, he's always a joke so with 2 coils Prouder just walked over him.

Whatever, I'll take it.
Here's Littlemon team #45 to beat Alpha Sapphire's E4 + Champ. Deathless & reliable strategy, level cap, no bag items, usual challenge rules.
Skrelp is amazing. A bit slow, but takes hits and deals damage back. Acid Armor helps it to clear Sidney and Steven. Wooper is frail, but learns Eerie Impulse which is extremely helpful. Pumpkaboo learns good moves and is a random card. I had Nosepass lvl1 in the box for a very long time to use FEAR strats but I backed myself into a corner and I had to evolve it up until 75. FEAR would have been cool, I should have done it with a Rattata or something. Anyway, I couldn't have beat Glacia without Nosepass (and I tried about a hundred times) <3

Sidney:
>pumpkin leech seeds, skrelp sets up and sweeps
Phoebe:
>wooper puts banette to -6 sp.a, pumpkaboo sweeps
Glacia:
>golett kills abomasnow, nosepass kills froslass
>pumpkaboo, a grass pokemon, has to sweep the rest
Drake:
>golett ice punches altaria
>wooper debuffs dragalgae so skrelp can boost and sweep
Steven:

E4 down, lost my Meganium to a crit from Machamp, Wigglytuff to Karen's destiny bond and Lance ripped through my Lanturn with his Aerodactyl landing every rock slide and flinching every turn, Politoed cleaned him up but he was down to a couple HP and paralyzed when the final dnite came out, my Jynx was already on 2 HP after tanking a hyper beam so I sacked the Toed for a clean switch and kill with ice punch. Only survivors from this E4 were my Crobat and the shiny odd egg Jynx. Time to Kanto, unless something crazy unforseen happens I plan on bringing at least my Jynx and my first encounter shiny Raticate to the RED fight.

gonna try a double nuzlocke with white and black 2 and see how it goes. rules aren't written in stone but are something like this:
>generic nuzlocke rules (until post-game)
>must trade as many Pokémon to the other game as possible
>wiping in one game means wiping in both games
I'm cautiously optimistic because it's a lot harder than it sounds. let's see how it goes!

Kanto went pretty well, I am an idiot and lost Quagsire to Janine's Exploding purple balls and Electabuzz to Starmie because he couldn't one shot at level 44. A lot of good mons in the bank but since I am working through each game without repeats the final team is Raticate, Venomoth, Kingler, Weezing, Jynx and Magcargo. Maggy couldn't one shot Pikachu after the charm, at least it's thunder didn't crit so took it out with ease, Espeon bodied my shiny Rat with two psychics but my return did a solid 80% before going down, Jynx cleaned up but his Charizard ended up flamethrowing my Kingler to bits after a decent surf. Weezing easily beat Snorlax after a smokescreen and Venomoth cleared Venosaur and Blastoise getting me that win.

Hello everyone, I'm back and unfortunately I lost my Emerald nuzlocke.

First I caught a Wailmer and Oddish evolved into Gloom but things immediately went sour afterwards.

I lost Shuppet to a Psychics Kadabra that used Psybeam and then to make things worst, I lost my strongest pokemon Pelipper to a Psychics Wobuffet using Destiny Bond and Pelipper couldn't escape.

Immediately afterwards, I lose Trapinch to a Psychics Wobuffet using Destiny Bond again. Then I fuck up by losing two pokemon to a Parasol Ladies Castform, first the recently caught Wailmer to a Thunder and my HM bitch Zigzagoon to Solar Beam.

I did catch a Vulpix at Mt Pyre but the final nail in the coffin was against a two Aqua goons in a double battle. Loads was killed when a Wailmer kept using Rollout and I forget Magnitude hurts allies and while taking out a Poochyena, Nutella killed Slugma with Magnitude.

After that battle, I couldn't leave Mt Pyre as the only pokemon I had on my team alive where Gloom, Numel, Kecleon and Zubat and non can learn Surf or Fly. With no way of Mt Pyre and despite having a few survivors, my Emerald nuzlocke ends here.

I'm onto Ruby now, just getting my last encounter before Roxanne, hoping for a Taillow but I got a Wingull in 104 so not really needing it for now.
The woods got me a Slakoth which I never used before, at first I was thinking about the trade but I think I can clear Roxanne with some yawns and water gun. I hope I don't regret it.
I'm going through every game (for right now up to BW2 unless I can find a good emulator and files for the 3DS games) with regular hardcore rules with the caveat that I can't use any past champions from an ever growing list I will be forced to get creative. Not sure how the remakes will go if I get that far.

Lost my first poke to Winona, should have checked her moves but Double Team Endeavor killed my Solrock. Luckily my Gyarados hit the surf after getting knocked to 1 HP. Pelipper was a non issue with Manectric, then Altaria came out. Vigoroth swapped in on a DDance and tanked an EQ to get the Yawn off. Castform got the hail when she switched to Skarmory, Camerupt easily got the kill with flamethrower, back to Castform for the EZ kill with weather ball. No other rock types in the bank right now but at least I have a Spoink waiting for his chance to play.

I managed to beat Cheren by some miracle. I got cheeky again and went for Bide, and his Patrat set up 6 Work Ups. It somehow didn't manage to 1-shot my Patrat because of X-Defend, but I lost Patrat anyway because of a dumb mistake (thinking I could outspeed Lillipup without X-Speed).

Lost Manectric to the Milotic trainer on Route 120, cleared the Magma hideout, got the Super Rod, got a near perfect Sharpedo on Route 118. T&L should be EZPZ with Absol assist. Probably use my pickup winnings to get some TMs at Mauville too could really use some lightning coverage.

Revenge on Wallace's Milotic at least, got a nice crit psychic on it. Easy win, Slaking too OP, easily killed Luvdisc with secret power, got some yawns off. Thought he could outspeed the Seaking and encored but oh well, bodied 3 rain boosted hydro pumps, got another yawn off on confusion to swap into my big bad Grumpig that finished the fight easily. Hariyama easily cleared the Sealeo and Beautifly scraped past the Whiscash.
Now onto the E4, not sure who to bring. Going to do FR next so don't have to worry about dupes just yet.
