Pokemon, as a series, works best when there’s no overarching storyline. I don’t know why GameFreak/Nintendo decided to make Pokemon more complex with adding stories to the game. The first three generations had it right. Gen 4 and Gen 5 really ruin the series.

I almost agree, it only constrains the manga if the plot of the game is particular invasive or poorly written. The worse the source material is the more needs to be done to editorialize it to make it palatable (think about how much SW/SS had to be changed). Even then every game, even Red/Blue, has a shortlist of different locales and characters the player encounters which Kusaka has always based his chapters around since the very beginning. And it isn't as if he's totally bound by the games canon, Bianca's encounter with her dad at Nimbasa is infamously absent from the BW arc for instance.

If you're talking about the image, no it's just some softcore yuri doujin where all the girls get hypnotised into falling in love with Yellow, but all they end up doing is just cuddling her in a bed. From what I've noticed, a lot of women do like Yellow but mostly for them to self insert as her romancing Red. A smaller percentage of female Yellow fans are mentally ill pooners who use her as a symbol of androgyny or trans representation. Asking any of these people to discuss Yellow's story arc or her real non-fanfic personality tends to go absolutely nowhere. They rarely seem genuine or have even read past the gen 1 arcs.
