i just bought a japanese copy of heartgold and a pokewalker since theyre cheap, then played an english rom of it in twilightmenu, the pokewalker works with any region of the game and twilightmenu can tell if a cartridge with an ir sensor is inserted, so it works. right now ive made it to white lake with 1250175 steps with every possible catch up to that point including the event routes, its part of a playthrough of soul silver where i exhaust literally every feature of the game, and im almost done with it other than missing one gold print and the last stretch of the pokewalker routes
