I got this one for free last year. If you do your 4 daily rolls everyday you'll get a +10 eventually.
>>
>>59093125
I've gotten one of the battle notifications and I could have had a skin after getting a +10 but I forgot to check back in after the 12 hours because naturally I went to fucking sleep and wasn't thinking about the game after a snoozie why is that 12 hour recharge bullshit a thing
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>59093125
Not quite f2p, but you can get 10-12 point items quite reliably for 2 gems, using them to recharge right before the reset. This way you can roll 6 balls in a day, so reaching 10 or 12 isn't too unlikely.
I've been using this to get all the move recolor things and some other items.

doesn't matter what platforms the game is on, it's soulless chinkshit transactionslop garbage
the only way to fix the game is to give it to a japanese company that will completely rework monetization and actually balance the game instead of shilling new mons

It's the opposite for me, this season was so bad that at one point I dipped below 30% wr, and although now it's 55% it used to be 62% in the previous seasons so it's either timi's agents or I'm just past my prime

What awful decisions is Timi gonna do next?
>limited ranked battles
you are put on a cooldown at a certain amount of games played (pay to decrease the cooldown for more games) ~limited time increases urgency to play better, trolls can't perma queue, but you can't play that much if you want to grind ranked unless you pay
>limited amount of games on a mon per day
(pay to increase the limit)
~encouraging to play variety and stopping one tricks, and trying to increase sales of unite licenses
>you are put on a timer when you login per day
(pay to increase the time)
~incentivizes you to use your time wisely, or you can bring out your wallet
>your account gets deleted if you don't login after 90 days
~wants you to keep coming back
>the scoreboard is now shown in matches
~controversial change that doesn't make sense because that's what timi does
>ads being played after matches

>holowear gives slight stat boosts

Comfey battle pass, with buffs, of course.
Ranked pick/bans limited to Legend, so everyone gets to play their favorites.
Crossregion matchmaking starting instantly, to improve your experience and make games faster and smoother.
10 gems per day in the subscription, to make it nice and round.
Rank protection cards start working in Masters, to improve the experience for dedicated players.
Fortnite collab, with special holowear for all to enjoy.

Most good players reach Legend at the midpoint of the season and fuck off. There's no reason to play after that, other than a quick match for the free event Pokemon. And I'm sure most of us here are Legend players.
>>
>>
>>59118702
can confirm I have no motivation to play after hitting legend
I used to just fuck around with meme sets after hitting 1600 but the move selection bullshit just makes the game mentally draining, haven't even gotten my moltres yet just cause I hit legend first
I really don't give a shit about the new mons only having one set but I fucking hate going into a match with a set in mind and having forgotten to select it in the preparation phase and just feeling like a fucking jackass
>>
>>
>>59118702
>>59118767
master 1600 > legend rank
I was willing to play more matches after hitting master 1600, just messing around with pokemon i dont usually play with. Now, I completely drop the game after hitting legend rank. The long queue times fucking sucks ass, and playing variety just doesn't hit the same. I like draft but it kills my motivation to go next and I end up not playing as much matches per session. 2/3 matches per hour just isn't it, I miss having 5/6 matches per hour
>>
>>
They should really just revamp the queue system.

Do you guys think Role-queue could save this game? & having pre-selected lanes before you queue into a match? I think that type of change might draw people back into this dying moba. Speedster goes jungle, Attacker/Defender goes bot lane, and All-rounder/Supporter goes top lane. It's organized and prevents less trolling. People complain about matchmaking a lot and well, I think it's time for this change. You'll have people knowing what they are playing/doing before they queue in, because it's messy as fuck right now.
Also, the jungle is only accessible to the jungler for the first 3 minutes. Prevents jungle stealing from laners. & bot/top laners are locked into their lanes for the first 3 minutes.

Thinking of doing a spin-a-wheel challenge to Legend next season (I have all the licenses as well). This might be a bad idea lmao. But I think I'm going to separate the wheel into all the 5 roles so I can fill for my teams.

evening hours your time (5pm-10pm), that's when people come back home from school/work and weekends (mostly all day except bedtime hours 11pm-10am). mid-season has a dip in players because everyone reaches their milestone for the season at this point. and right when a season is ending/starting you'll have more players queuing in for matches.

I don't really think that's true or threads for people to battle in would be way more active, or even exist in the first place. /showderp/ is the closest we get and one of the few times /vp/ actually did battle threads they got fucking mogged by a professional wrestler using Honchkrow because barely anyone actually plays the game here.
Most pokemon fans don't play PvP at all and just enjoy the main campaigns, and I sincerely doubt the demographic between Champions and Unite is all that big.

you're going to go into a match with your favourite pokemon, ready to use that good ol' reliable set you always won matches with only to realise nope fuck you actually they changed how moveset selection works and you have to set what moves you want before the match starts so actually you got the moves you don't really like as you trudge through 10 bot matches until the game finally decides you get to play with real people again

I started playing ths two weeks ago.
130 battles, License Journey #14, Battle Pass level 26, 67% win rate
Leafeon Main (Pikachu -> Umbreon -> Sylveon -> Leafeon)
Should I stop playing? I always wanted Leafeon and I have it now. (Had to grind Solo to unlock License #12)
>>

>>59151649
It feels like a chore. I don't play MOBAs or "serious" video games on my phone (this is my first!). The game takes way too long to start, promotions up the wazoo, menus lag every single time and there's just one kind of game. Finding players takes way too long and there are SO MANY MENUS. I want something that I can load on a whim, play, and exit.
>>
>>59151652
Then put the game down.
2021-2022 was the best time to get into Unite as they hadn't gone full chinky jew mode yet and people were still generally happy with the game cuz it was actually fun, balance issues aside.
Hell, I'd say anytime before December of last year, which is when they removed Aeos Coins (free, easily grindable currency to buy mons with), would've been an okay time to jump in.
But now, nah. Don't bother.
Nearly every decision the devs have made since December has only made the game worse in some way, with the aforementioned removal of Aeos Coins, the restriction of no longer being able to pick your level up moves mid-match, and every new mon starting with Zapdos having only one moveset instead of two being the real death blows to the game that drove most players away.
Even if they do walk all that shit back I think the damage is done and those players will never return.
So yeah, just drop it.
Play something you'll actually like.
>>
>>
>>59151861
ngl champions is already in a worse state than this game
at least unite is its own game, champions is just a worse version of the already existing games with bugs out the wazoo no content and nothing to do

Am I the only one who's not bothered by not being able to pick your moves mid match, I admit it's annoying when it happens during a blind pick match but aside from that I don't really care.
Things that would make me hopeful for this game would be the reinstatement of aeos coins, and introducing 3rd movesets to older mons(gives them a reason why pre locking movesets is a good thing)
>>
>>59155150
Heck why not even go full retard with the movesets, give us a Greninja with his 2 dash moves, Delphox with fire spin and dash, double scaling latias/latios.

Haven't played Unite yet, but someone on /v/ said that Eeveelution players are generally "free wins" to play against (because they care more about displaying their favorite). How true is this?

It's true that Eeveefags are the most braindead beings on the planet that will make you question what is even real, but here's the catch. Eevees themselves ARE the free win.
They're built from the ground up to be so ridiculously easy to use, low risk and high reward just to coddle the kinds of players who use them. It does not take more than 1 brain cell to press the Icicle Shard button on Glaceon to watch your enemy lose 90% of their health for DARING to appear on your screen, all while you run away to safety because your move is a guaranteed auto targetting hit that keeps firing while you can still move and you have a free "I'm actually invincible and invisible now fuck you" ability every engage the moment anybody dares to try and poke or dive you.
Eevees are like the "pocket Cloud"s of this game - except if Cloud started with Limit, his specials were the size of his Smash 4 NAir, he had the best recovery in the game and you gave him witch time

LMAO
You wanna use something like Full Heal to avoid stuns or Eject Button for more mobility.
Go after low health targets, or flank their squishy attackers and burst them down in like two seconds.
Dash away if you don't get the kill.
>>
>>59161723
I got the name wrong. It's Razor Leaf and Aerial Ace.
>>59161806
I have scored goals that I wouldn't have otherwise, sometimes during final stretch, too.
Full Heal only matters if you get attacked. Eject button is kinda moot when I already have two dashes.
I rarely, if ever get a kill. I have two attacks: leaf throw-and-retrieve and the regular attack. Neither does much damage. The second slot has double dash (aerial ace).
Held items: Charging Charm (24), Shell Bell (27), Attack Weight (18)
(wasted a ton of upgrade points on Leftovers, Assault Vest and Muscle Band)

What is this supposed to prove, exactly? You've just admitted you have zero impact on the game. That first one is especially bad, I'd be livid if I was that Azumarill especially when both enemy teams have three squishes that are ripe for a Speedster's taking.

>>59162146
I am not a gamer (I am a zoom zoom though) so I don't know how to play well. And I don't know which pokemon are squishies. I score often, and once I score during final stretch, I guard the remaining goal(s). It's way too risky to try and score again. I time my final goal so that it's right at the edge of Final Strech and then I usually get killed and man the goals.
>>
>>59161948
>shell bell
Did you even read what that does?
Also drop the defensive items, Speedsters are so squishy they'll die to a light breeze no matter what you put on them.
Speedsters are about getting in while the enemy is engaged with their team, doing big damage, then getting the fuck out before they get killed.
Ideally by getting behind the squishies to kill them.
Focus on damage items like Attack Weight and Scope Lens.
Also Leftovers and Ass Vest are very niche, bordering on flat-out bad.
>>59162038
>>59162113
>>59162132

There's no way a Leafeon should be getting that few kills, especially when the enemy has a Beamasaur or Owl that can't do anything once they get jumped on.

>>
>>59162187
I picked Shell Bell because it recovers a minimum of 80 HP. That's major, right?
I understand what you're saying, I need to bonk and run. Is that really the role of a speedster in the game?
Is charging charm bad? I move around a lot and it charges quickly. I can upgrade scope lens to lvl30 with an item. Should I do that? I don't really use the basic attack.
I use Leftovers because it increases HP while I flee.
> Are you just not attacking people or something?
No, I don't. When the game starts I quickly reach level 4 and then I start hopping around goals.
Beamasaurs are dangerous. They KO me in one attack. Movement is so fucking sluggish in this game that I pretty much die if my dash isn't charged. (ping is ~30ms)
I get KO'd by pikachu. I actually get KO'd by almost every pokemon. Can't recall my last one-on-one kill. I don't think I have one.
>>59162228
>>59162221
Should I move to Espeon? I just unlocked it.
I used to play Umbreon, that was fun. Disable an entire goal.
Sylveon had decent power and had damage in an area (although you couldn't change the direction)
Espeon felt really OP in the training area.
>>
>>59162221
Well, it's rare for us to get new blood in the first place, much less someone who has literally zero idea how anything works on even a baseline level.
Them being an Eeveefag is just icing on the cake.
It's at least somewhat entertaining.
>>59162279
Okay, so the whole "scoring while avoiding everyone" thing?
Stop that.
That's, like, the complete opposite of what you're supposed to be doing.
Everyone will fucking hate you if you keep doing it.
You need to kill enemies (or at the very least get them to such low health that they'll back of to return to their base) to create space so make other tasks like taking objectives and --->>>scoring<<<--- that much easier.
>Is that really the role of a speedster in the game?
Yes.
Speedsters are the hit-and-run archetype.
Their main thing is killing squishy attackers and weakened targets.
They often attack from the side or behind the enemy to take out their backline, then run until their moves are off cooldown to do it again to the next enemy.
Don't attack from head-on, that'll just get you killed.
Instead you should attack from an angle they won't see you coming from, and even better if you just saw them use a move so you know they won't have it for when you jump in.
Also wait for your Defender to go in first and get everyone's attention, THEN you should start trying to pick people off.
Speedsters generally want to be in center lane so they can get overleveled and do more damage, but because Leafeon is an Eevee it can do well in lane since it evolves so early.
Take advantage of that when you can before everyone else comes online.
Also please read which items affect which stats, and also which attacking stat your mon uses.
>>

To add to what others have said, make sure to read UniteDB's FAQ section as it has a lot of info not mentioned in-game
>What is the point of +10 or +30 attack, anyway? It's so tiny.
Depends on how well your moves scale regarding your attack stats. Solar Blade as seen in the screenshot above my post scales extremely well at 320%, for example, meaning you'd want to increase attack as much as possible on Leafeon
This is opposed to something like Pikachu with poor sp. atk scaling, whose damage isn't affected as much by not running damage items

That's very helpful, but this increasingly feels like a chore. Is this info somewhere in the game as well? How was I supposed to figure this out without this arcane website?

That's... disappointing. I think I'll just uninstall the game. I don't want to make spreadsheets.
Thank you all for your help. I'm very sorry if I wasted your time, I know I've wasted mine.

Even without all the extra info the game is very easy to figure out.
The more you'll play it (while actually thinking, mind you) the more'll you'll learn what and what not to do.
I mean, IF you actually find the game fun.

Looking up stats and min-maxing the same repetitive game is not my idea of fun. I thought I was doing something horribly wrong but it turns out everyone else was playing a different game all along. This game has ~6 minutes of effective gameplay for 6+ minutes of waiting. It felt like a chore before I was told about stat tables.
Still, thank you. You were really patient with me.
My idea of a good game is Hades, or Plants vs Zombies. I know big explosion = more damage. Or that double peashooter is better than peashooter. But in pokemon there are arcane values and truly horrible gameplay mechanics ("let's slow players down! That's SUPER FUN" "let's make 20+ hours of time investment mandatory").
Hell even Rimworld is simpler.
>>59162812
That's ways away.
>>59162804
I couldn't name over 30 pokemon but I know Eevee is the best. It has the coolest evolutions. And they're all aesthetic.
>>59162794
Feels like that
>>59162774
It's a video game why would I put effort into it? It's supposed to be easy and relaxing.
>>
>>
>>59162899
Well you're brand new, I can't fault you -too- much for doing dumb shit.
It's how I imagine a lot of players in Unite are and why they're so bad at the game: they don't know where to look to get advice to not be braindead.
But yeah, if you don't find it fun then feel free to put the game down.
Game's honestly kind of in a really bad state right now anyway.
>It's a video game why would I put effort into it? It's supposed to be easy and relaxing.
Some people actually like a challenge and overcoming difficulties, often in trying to outplay and out-think another human.
That's fun for them.
Fun for you seems to be very casual easy-mode stuff.
Nothing wrong with that.
Anyways.
Take care, bruddah.

so when did the fall of this game start
feels like since mid 2024 was the last time I played the game seriously by wanting to climb higher in master when seasons were still single digit.
Guess whenever glaceon got the first maid skin is when I not only finally broke out the wallet for her but also quit the game after a few weeks
wtf happened with coins and getting new pokemon now, is the "runes" system in the coins still complete rng or is it still cancer to get them all

>so when did the fall of this game start
When Espeon released and was the first "Gems-only for a week" mon that they put out, testing the waters how much they could get away with before moving onto bigger acts of greed.
It's been downhill ever since.
>>
>>59164702
was espeon really the first one that started the trend of first week pay money only to get early access to the pokemon? that sounds like a good start when shit started going down hill though, busted pokemon on released. Didn't help they'd release nearly every pokemon like that obscenely OP then after the week is up they'd do a patch to nerf them
>>
>>59164723
Yeah, it was.
The trick being that it was actually kinda weak when it first came out, just so TiMi could have people claim that it wasn't pay2win like the later gems-only mons eventually became, basically downplaying the trend when it started.Eevees will forever be a blight.

A lot of the early p2w mons were really weak actually, Scizor was infamously the worst release a mon has ever had (unless you count launch Wiggly but even that's debatable) and although Dodrio and Mew were inarguably OP they completely filtered the paypiggies who can't play the game so you had stuff like Dodrio going sub 45% during p2w week only to immediately jump up to like 54% winrate the moment everyone else got access to it.
Scizor specifically had to be the turning point where it was so weak that it hurt their sales because everything past that (minus Dragapult who was balanced and Comfey who was ass) has been completely overtuned.

>>
>>59163695
>is the "runes" system in the coins still complete rng or is it still cancer to get them all
Yes.
Honestly since they aren't even allowed in competitive, I think they should just remove the emblem system entirely.

For me, it was the moment they made the 1600 sticker ''skill-based'' in season 24.
People who play the game for fun usually stop playing after that point so they made it much harder to get.
The playerbase got a lot more sweatier as a result. People started buying OP mon with gems day 1 to abuse them. Duos and Trios everywhere.
Off-meta variety basically died from that point and picks became flavour of the month.
In the game of Pokemon Unite, what is the point of winning?
You're just going to get stomped next match anyway.
It doesn't matter that stickers are given out for cheap nowadays, I will never forgive them.

"""skill-based""" I wish, you can still force your way into getting these things by just playing enough games. I wish the game actually had proper elo and matchmaking to filter out people like you from deluding yourself into thinking that these things actually matter when a fucking Comfey bot probably climbs higher than you.

>have to solo lane because counter jungler against mons I can't do anything against so I don't get to play early
>for the majority of the game the enemy is hard targetting me/wasting all their resources in panic so while I get amazing value for my team and they can clean up I still don't get to do anything
>finally fug time
>slowbro united for no reason
>don't even get to score at the very end because I have less points than teammates but would still break the goal so I give them right of way
ha ha I sure do love a win by doing nothing episode

Zapdos: good. A bit on the OP side even after the nerfs. A real menace boith in early and late. The instant goal effect on the ult is funny, but rarely game deciding.
Moltres: meh. If it gets healing it can be dangerous, but it's pretty kiteable and boring overall. The only real thing it has going for it is the ult, but Cinderace does that better.
Articuno: IDK so far, haven't got it yet.
Looks underwhelming on its own, but together with a Suicune things can get pretty ugly. Its ult lets you grief your own team lol.
>>
>enemy has pawmot, meowth and greninja
>we have a clefable
>literally all of them should just get shut down instantly the moment it pops gravity
>instead clefable spends the ENTIRE FUCKING GAME just running away from them instead of using the funny "fuck you" button which also means we're getting no heals because it leaves us to die from a trio of assholes who just teleport around you with two of them microstunning you every milisecond
jesus fucking christ I haven't been this tilted at the game in years what a useless piece of shit

S25, S31 and... which one? You only have 3 slots on your profile.

I love the update lmao. It killed the game and I'm still not going to play it.
After catering to you faggots for several seasons with the Kyogre and Groudon meta they finally realised how much of a mistake that was.
You deserve this for sucking on Timi's dick this long. Get fucked.

finally some night slash buffs, but zera's wild charge really does not need any more damage
also

lol

havent played since darkrai came out
they really got rid of coins and force you to unlock mons in a specific order, crazy
glad i pretty much had all the mons i liked before left
btw, doesnt it seem like playing charizard is useless now? if his megas are just his 2 movesets but better, why would you play og charizard?

I still prefer running the OG for that third item slot, especially when running into a team with high healing so I can slap Curse on freely.
It also lets you run the physical moves without being CC cucked in your unite but I always prefer the kiting set.

You can unlock Pokemon, but now you unlock them in the order they were added to the game and every 10 or so you get to pick who you get next
yes it's ass if you aren't somebody who consistently played long enough to unlock everything already
