Quick reviews of the Pokémon movies I've watched so far. I watched them all dubbed.

Mewtwo's a great antagonist and carries the show. Pikachu crying still breaks me. Pretty good, even if nostalgia carries it.

It's ok, it's more slice of life-y, more centered in the human characters, and a lot less focused in pokémon battles. So it really depends on what you care about in a show. If you're looking for a pokémon battle shonen you won't like it.

You can tell it's a more experimental formula with a goal that diverges from the traiditional gym challenge, which is something I dig. Some things have been well executed, others not so much. You have already watched the first string of episodes, I think the writers were still figuring out at the time what they wanted out of this series. That's why it seems a bit aimless.

As another anon said, it's a solid 7/10. It's not revolutionizing the anime industry, and it takes a dip in a couple of arcs, but it's a decent story with an interesting premise.

Personally I think it's in the endgame and not meant to continue from there, and that's a good thing. The ashnime was left to rot for too long due to the influence of an autistic director. Maybe the next anime will be great if they learned the right lessons.

I would really prefer for the series to just end, and for us to go without anipoke for a few months. Horizons has so obviously run its course, and for me, it wasn't very fun to follow along with. I think it was a learning process for OLM, and while I really didn't like it, I think it could be a good stepping stone towards their next Pokemon anime.

The idea of enduring an extra year of Liko and Roy sucks. This shit was not built to last.
