Anon are you me haha. I like projecting soft femdom fantasies on most male characters I like, but with Kiki it's actually believable that he'd lend himself well to it, that he'd do anything to please her and be good with her and that she'd playfully take advantage of his weakness to toy with him a bit. Purely sweet F/M stuff I can't get enough of, by far one of the dynamics I love the most. Sadly I don't think it was super common to see on the Japanese fandom (fan art) side, a lot of depictions of Juliana or her dynamic with Kiki were a bit on the generic side, or even worse male dom which isn't my cup of tea at all. Haha, honestly it's mostly because I think there must be something to learn from classics, if they've stood the test of time and people still read them and take inspiration from them. Not to say that a classic or popular novel can't be an absolute stinker, quite the opposite in fact... but a lot of these authors have set the standards for fiction, in a way. I've read a lot of more modern stuff, but these days I'm always hesitant because when I want to pick up a book I read reviews first, and without fail I come across some negative ones that make me go "okay I'll probably hate this so I'd rather save my time instead". I gotta stop reading book reviews as a form of entertainment lol. And then I go in blind without reading the reviews and I find out it's a stinker anyway...

Haha, you're right and I totally agree, far from me to pay this much attention to what people think. The reviews I read where the reviewer seems to actually know their shit a bit are fairly uncommon, and I take the rest as some times funny but ultimately irrelevant. But if a reviewer spoils developments/endings I probably won't like, then I take it as saving my time :P
