01/26/26(Mon)14:56:11 No.12343553 I wanna get back into gaming again, especially retro games that I missed while growing up (was basically a Nintendo kid with some random 360 titles thrown in there)
If you name it and it isn't some first party or well known third party, chances are I haven't played it
From like the 16-bit era onwards, what are some games you think I should start with
I have a loose plan of starting somewhere, and either following that studio or game director to seek out other games to try

He said 16-bit onwards.i like the Master System but I really wouldn't recommend it to anyone just starting with Sega games. Start with Genesis/Megadrive instead.
Good games to try:
Streets of Rage
Sonic
Golden Axe
Revenge of Shinobi
Gain Ground
Mercs
Phantasy Star 4

01/26/26(Mon)22:40:41 No.12344297 OP play the Oddworld series. Legitimately great games and I never hear anybody talk about them. Maybe it's just nostalgia but I think the atmosphere is really unique. Start with the first one on the ps1 and then play the sequel if you like it.

Treasure was a very passionate studio, it's worth checking out their non-licensed games. Keep in mind they made hard games for hard men, so you have to get hard to play Alien Soldier and RSG.
Dreamcast has a nice library full of obscure bullshit, that's fun to explore too.

I’ve enjoyed it. I respect short videos that get to the point. He’s there to give you recommendations not blab on for an hour so you don’t need to play the game yourself.

No, you really can't do that with a PC. Emulating on a PC is messy disaster. Yes, it can be done, but it'll look like crap, unlike having all the emulators I could ever want or need on my Wii.

01/28/26(Wed)18:29:53 No.12348956 So far the thread as been pretty civil and almost useful, but you'll get better responses if you narrow it down. You've gone mega broad and 1000's of games would fit the ask. What kind of games do you like? RPG, action, beat em up, shoot em up, adventure, platformer etc... and what kind of length/difficulty are you looking for?
