Post some retro games everybody hates but you happen to like, for me it's Knuckles' Chaotix. The ring mechanic is fun and the music and visuals are gorgeous.

I can't understand what people dislike about Chaotix. Yeah, the level design is disorganized, but who cares? You get to play as a million characters with cool powers and the special stages and bosses are great. Just goof around in it and don't take it so seriously.

I thought Hydlide and Deadly Towers were pretty fun. I've beaten them both.

Death Duel, incredibly jank because of the AI cheating half the time, but I find it to be very unique
One of those games that Mark from Classic Game Room constantly championed

They aren't especially good, but I still replay some of the Valis games every now and then. I like the aesthetics, they have some nice music, and I enjoy those sorts of action sidescrollers enough to have fun even with fairly unremarkable ones.

They aren't something I'm likely to ever revisit, but I enjoyed them at the time. I don't think I ever realized as a kid that the dungeons in Deadly Towers loop in some places, so I drew some huge, convoluted maps for them.

Knuckles Chaotix
> Level designs = terrible
> Level assets = Good and nice at the view
> Level musics = Very good
> Special stages = Pretty enjoying but the music of the infinite tube could start echoning in your ears, after a while
> Level and Character selection part = amusing and well colored. Nice musics.
> Game bosses = Too easy
> Ending = Depends. Bad ending is really destructive for the user, unusual for a Sonic game
> Ring mechanic = Pure steaming shit. I'm glad it has been dropped after this title and never seen again anywhere

Thing is no one give a damn to this title. They neither try. The ring mechanic is too deep latched with the game itself. Re-using the musics and the level assets, without the ring nightmare thing, could be interesting for a Mania mod, IMO.

I'm the weird fucker for whom the Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 was better than 1. I don't care that much for the SNES MMX games or X4, I like X5 and X6 a lot.

the soundtrack is grating, its glitchy as fuck, and it seems like the gameplay is jsut completely stacked against you

its not even bad, desu, I think most people hate it because they never tried to learn the upgrade system and it doesnt paly like a regular contra game

It was fun man desu and id play it again desu. Maybe next time it'll be the sms version. Liked the boss fights and the levels definitely a fun nes game for sure. It took me a bit to get the punches and stuff down cause it was like eveey time I pressed the attack button spider man did a different move lmao but when I got it down it was alot of fun. And yeah true lies gets very very hard. Definitely one of those games I beat with save states like figuring it has a password system saving at the beginning of each level and it still was hard as fuck lmao. That game is so hard but so fun to me. Its a real gem

I'm happy for you, anon! It's a very nostalgic title for me, especially punching the enemies and holding the button down to do more damage with the punches, having them explode and seeing the bosses' HP drain so fast with those satisfying SFX is a treat for me. I personally find the Master System/Game Gear ports worse, but many prefer them, it's a matter of taste and, honestly if I take away my bias, they don't differ much in quality from the NES, hope you have fun! As for True Lies, I think the main reason I'm struggling is the lives system and how the passwords save your current lives, you have to end the level in a net positive in lives or else you're not making it far, and level 2, especially the boss, drains many of my lives, if only it had a continue system and/or the password system reset your lives, but as it is I don't see myself getting far without cheating, I suck.

I have very little time to play nowadays... and when I finally do, I have little energy, often prefer to do other things that are more comfortable, like shitposting here, but over time I started to grow fond of a lot of kusoge simply for being 10min to 15min long, I've recently replayed Karate Kid on NES and as subpar as that is, it's fun for what it's worth, and so short.
