>doing ages first
Why?
Like I'd seriously recommend Seasons first. It's a lot more memorable as a game to me, and I'd rather play a fun game like it first over the more tedious Ages.

A game that's very fun, has lots of content, and is difficult to put down until you beat. Items feel nice. Puzzles are tricky and require a little thinking, but not too much. Prima's official guide is handy to have.

Seasons into Ages just makes more sense progression wise, Seasons being more combat oriented, and Ages being more puzzle oriented.

01/31/26(Sat)09:06:34 No.12355125 They're the technocrats Zeldas. They're technically great, but ultimately soulless and fail at the kind of pacing and exploration that makes Zelda good.
These games pretty much started a shift in Nintendo's practices too. It was the first time a Zelda game was made by third parties, so instead of treating their main series like something special, they were treating it like shovelware, just like they treated the GBC as a whole as a lesser platform. Younger people probably don't realize that because it's all they've known.

I sort of don't disagree, but they're still much more soul filled than ALttP, and absolutely have the tone and uncompromising difficulty of 'real' Zelda games, where they let you hang yourself in confusion if you aren't paying attention to what the game is doing.
They're definitely lesser in atmosphere compared to LA and OoT, and more linear than the NES games, but they're mechanically the most well rounded Zeldas and have the best dungeons in the series in fact, I'd say they're the only Zelda games that actually do justice to the idea of a Zelda dungeon.

Most gb games reset that way, why would you expect this one to be any different? Oh yeah it’s because retards don’t bother reading the manual.

01/31/26(Sat)17:36:30 No.12355846 Canonically speaking it makes more sense to play Seasons first and then Oracle, that way all the events make more sense and you don't miss out on anything.

The true ending comes from Ages first playthrough. After ages, then seasons, then ages again you get the boat ending.

Her game got absorbed into the other 2 when Capcom realized they couldn't do 3 games worth of content. So instead of 3 mediocre games we got 2 solid ones.

If you like Link's Awakening you'll probably like OoA/S. I think the director for them is the guy directing Zelda now, from Skyward Sword to BotW/TotK. But the Oracle games are solid 2D Zeldas.
