02/01/26(Sun)15:52:57 No.12357701 I just use Flashpoint to download and play Flash games these days, which has Ruffle as an alternative but defaults to Adobe's standalone Flash Player viewer. Ruffle seems like a nice project, though.

This, and if you use anything else than ZSNES to emulate SNES games you're a faggot

are you a moron? what i'm advocating for is more akin to using real hardware. using ZSNES would be more equivalent to using an early version of ruffle from years ago, back when there were lots of inaccuracies. ruffle's gotten a lot better over the years i admit, but nothing beats the real thing. and you don't even have to pay for the real thing like with hardware

Best option is to use https://gitlab.com/cleanflash/installer with IE.
Ruffle is a piece of shit and any site completely removing flash options, enforcing everyone to use ruffle/flashpoint/supernova for playing their DRM-lidded flash game is a massive piece of shit.

I just remembered it got security exploits up the fucking ass, and you'd update it, only to have another found immediately. That was about the time I gave up on flash, and by that point you could have HTML applications actually be kinda serious.
The downside is, a bunch of games now that would have been free flash games are now like 5 to 10bux on steam, webgames are for facebook moms now.

Ruffle takes forever to load and sometimes don't work at all, and when it does, get ready for lag and graphical bugs, still.
Flashpoint's UI is slow and it doesn't even have everything archived.
Supernova Player and other third-party players are malware.
Again, ideally, you'd want play it in IE should the site still support it, or download the swf file, and play that in IE.
But in the end you'll have to shuffle between all of those just to get your specific flash game working.

Same. Flash lost its soul when Adobe bought it from Macromedia. Flashplayer.com also lost its soul when it changed into UGOplayer. What a stupid ass name.
