Lets play game 2 bro

Game 2? Do you even play the classics? Game 1 is the best and everything else has been derivative.
>>
I can never look it the same after that awful Game 2 Remake.
>>
>>12357957
It was the title screen that was the final nail in the coffin for the Game 2 franchise.
>>

Where's the circuit?
It oviously just closes a circuit between two contacts to tell the conole which game it should play, First one is the first, but where is the second? Does that center one have a wire go through that gap and connect to the first?

>It oviously just closes a circuit between two contacts to tell the conole which game it should play

There's your answer. It's a circuit. There doesn't need to be two circuits.
>>
The circuit is when you put the game in. It literally cannot be any more simple. And it doesn't close the circuit, it completes it.
People die of electric shock all the time because they unknowingly complete a circuit.

Thanks for your introductory warning.
Enjoy the board :)

I personally prefer game 6 for how innovative and fresh it is. I understand that a low IQ plebian such as yourself may enjoy something as droll and simple as game 2 or game 5 but true THINKING Odyssey enjoyers understand the sublime majesty that is games 6 and 7. Their tight controls, interesting overlays, and BRILLIANT sound design elevated the odyssey to be more than just a simple pong machine with extra nonsense. When people discuss this as being one of the earliest home consoles in America, game 6 is a large part of why it enters that conversation. It defined it as a piece of hardware that moved the medium forward.

>>12357993
the cart closes the circuit. The odyssey actually doesn't even have a power button.

You guys joke but there's no reason we can't return to tradition and enjoy the simple pleasures of first generation consoles.
>>
>>12358469
Best I can do is Atari 2600 (because I haven't bothered to setup the emulator for the Odyssey 2), vidyabrudder.
>>
>>12358469
I would unironically play the fuck out of Pong if there was a net play version out there. When you play against another person it's easily a top 10 multiplayer game.

I think it's really cool how the magnavox odyssey is all discrete components with no chips. I don't think it would even be close to possible to make something like a NES like this.

Have you never seen a brown PCB before?
>>
>>12358701
You made the right choice. Any game after game 3 became too fancy, I mean, one offered a pause feature. What the fuck? What's next, is it going to clean my ears too? Gosh!
>>
>>12358704
Yes, but that pic is so low-res is really looks like wood grain to me from real wood. To further my defense, Ralph Baer's prototype was indeed partially made out of wood, same for the controllers.

You could build a discrete NES perhaps, in theory. To get the discrete transistor density, you might need cordwood modules like those Seymour Cray used in the CDC 6600 the first supercomputer that assembled the pcbs in this 3D stacked topology. Core memory RAM, games on tape (ROM would require thousands of diodes), but it would be room filling. The 6600 needed 100s of these modules full of transistors.

Did you even play the other Games? Game 2 is a complete departure from Game 1 and is shit. Game 3 is a return to form, and it does everything Game 1 does, but better.

Lol game 3 shit the bed when it allowed 2 square cursors on the screen. Wtf 2? TWO? Why would you need more than the one glowing cursor? Do you have ADD?
But thanks for outing yourself a pseud.

I see you got the woodpanel, two-dial, face-centered reset switch version. Very nice. Is it as ergonomic as it looks? I hear that it's like literally being in the game

That's kinda genius. How the fuck would piracy work then? If someone closed the circuit a different way?

Also completing and closing a circuit is the same thing retard. The circuit without the game would be considered an OPEN CIRCUIT

No it isn't. A close-circuit refers to an exclusive service or a circuit that is damaged.
-t. anon with electrical training
>>
>>12364662
-t. who will never know the simple perfect pleasures that Game 1 can deliver. I mean, the one cursor IS the soul of the game.
How can a game have two souls?
You're all going crazy with this "two cursors" nonsense. Why? Why would you need it? I just don't understand you zoomies who need all the extras that don't even matter to gameplay.
>>
>>12364707
If you are trying to measure something with a multimeter and the circuit is open what does it say?
>>
>>12364909
Let me elaborate, you are not measuring amps with the opening either.
>>
>>12364909
>>12364915
It says it's open.
You can check on this with several search engines, but you likely won't because it will show me to be correct.
>>
>>12364923
Okay and if that opening is closed and youre measuring let's say voltage does it say closed? No it measures the voltage.
>>
>>12364935
So what? I'm still correct. You refuse to educate yourself. Just stop posting, for the love of all that's good.

"closed circuit
American
noun
Electricity.
a circuit without interruption, providing a continuous path through which a current can flow."

The games close an open circuit then it becomes a closed circuit and plays. The games complete/close the circuit and depending on how its closed decided the game. Retard.
>>
>>12364947
"Close-circuit" is NOT used that way, anon. Closed-circuit is for monitors.
You're not even using terms correctly, so I doubt you can even understand what you refuse to search for, so just forget it.
Really, just stop posting and go pick your nose and eat it because that's what you want to do anyway and will be just as productive.

You are a total retard and should never be allowed online.
>>
That's what this board is turning into, an ignorance factory with invading zoomers who worship incorrect AI articles as God Himself.
>>
>>12364983
I accept your concession
Maybe if there was an even easier version of dummies called retards you would understand the difference between open and closed circuits. Maybe you could source what a "close-circuit" is? Is it a circuit close to something? Is the circuit close to failing? Elaborate or stay consneeded.
>>
Last post on this matter. Only an ignorant buffoon would say:
>that guy carrying the ladder closed the circuit so he got electro-shocked to death
No, they'd say he unknowingly completed the circuit.
A closed-circuit always refers to an active electrical connection between TV monitors now. This is a fact. Now go be mad somewhere else.
>>
>>12364989
>A closed-circuit always refers to an active electrical connection between TV monitors now
Weird how this diagram is using a light bulb which is not a tv or monitor?
>>12364986
I trust my mechanical engineering experience over ai. I could pull out a PCB board with leds I have and show you when the circuit is open and closed if that helps?
>>
>>12364989
>No, they'd say he unknowingly completed the circuit.
Or theyd say he unknowingly walked into an open circuit and created a closed circuit with his ladder and body.

Nice thread bro. I love the discussion of retro games here.

If its closed and operational how is it damaged? Maybe if its closed in an unintended way but wouldn't that be a short? Where did you train lol.

He replied again.
lol

Welcome to RomMart, I love you.
>>
How do I pirate oddysee games? Can I put a sheet of metal in there to close the circuit and play game 1??
>>
>>12365050
If there are tiny channels on that piece of metal that happen to align within the Odyssey's parameters, the sky's the limit.
>>
>>12365050
I just dripped solder into the cartridge slot like OP gets drip fed semen. I guess I could use a heat gun to get it out if I wanted to play a game other than game 1 but thats the best game anyways.

He completed the circuit but the ladder closed it.

Your mommy telling you to stop trying to put her keys in the outlet is not """electrical training""" kiddo
>>
>>12365229
Still mad?
not my problem.
>>
>>12365240
Theres this switch in the back of my ps2. Theres a hole on one side it kinda looks like an opening and when its switched to that side it doesnt work.

When I flip it to the line side kinda looking like the opening was closed the console turns on. Can your electrical training explain this?
>>
>>12365240
The only one mad here is the baby whose mommy won't let it play with her keys anymore.
>>
>>12365050
There's a "flashcart" for it that's just a couple dipswitches to select what game you want.
