Even today, it is one of the best Nintendo games to just open up and have a ton of fun with. Whenever I replay old mario games, SMB3 and Sunshine always guarantee the best time.

It was utter shite. Proof that the Nintendo of the 80s and 90s, constantly releasing AAA banger after AAA banger better than before was over. GC released with no Mario game, and almost a year later we got this steaming pile of shit. Just the shitty grainy FMV intro told you all you needed to know that Nintendo's best days were in the past. Then we got the turd of Zelda the next year. GC was never good.

I liked it well enough but most of its defining features are questionable combined with generally being unfinished and having a fairly low level of polish for a mainline nintendo game.
