Do you have any self-imposed rules while playing RPG?

Of course. No fast travel. My actions are based on character lore. This usually determines who lives, who dies, if I steal, what sort of quests I'd do. I can't even relate to people who play games like Skyrim or Read Dead Redemption without making their own head cannon. It adds so much fun. Which I know will piss off people here who need hard coded classes for everything, but we're all different.

My hours played must not exceed my character level.
>>
No crying until the ending
>>
>>3907580
If you don't, you're not role-playing.
>>

I go into the first playthrough blind, make the decisions I would have made IRL. I also make the character resemble me as much as possible

Are you good at swordfighting, or casting spells?
>>
>>3907929
It applies to modern and scifi settings since I have decent marksmanship and also kickboxing experience
>>
>>3907870
the game is role playing for you, hence role playing game
>>
>>3907580
Only when I'm given too much freedom and want to play like a specific archetype of character.
>>
>>3907747
It's not over til the crying
>>
>>3907580
I'm not allowed to jack off to the girls anymore

No lying.
No behaving dishonorably.
No stealing.
No poison.
No unholy magic.
>>
>>3907929
No, but according to my dreams I'm good at stealth and have spells that aid a rogue/ninja/spy archetype.

difficulty: impossible

>>3907580
I hit myself when my character is hit

If its an actuall RPG, skyrim is more of a grind slop so I don't care.
>>
>>3909639
Do you touch yourself when your character is touched too?
>>
>>3907580
No minorities in the party
>>
>>3907580
No sassy/snarky brown people in the party. No female warriors unless they are like 7' muscle girls.
>>
No using consumables.
>>
Never miss a gold hairpin.

...and never wait for Shadow.
>>
>>3907580
Playing an RPG without falling asleep is enough of a challenge as it is

Someone needs to go back to /v/.

Based and checked.

>>3911811
Checked, and I might suggest his level of autism belongs better in /pol/.
>>
>>3907929
I would be in the game's setting
>>
>>3908989
you can still goon to troons and pretty boys though
>>
>>3907580
I never romance anyone, ever. Unless the character is already married then I romance the wife.
>>
Run away as little as possible, unless backtracking through earlier territories.

If there is a thief, I must use it.

The game has a role?

>Impose strict moral choices and limiting conditions on myself

It's not easy being the only one who cares about decency.

Which games? Most games I've played tend to reward goody-two-shoes behaviour.
>>
have fun???
>>
>>3907580
Be nice to Kid.
>>

>I will finish the game
>I will only play the game once
Those are all my rules, and I fucking hate video games...but I bought all these cunts and I gotta play them before I die.

I'm with this anon

Most games give you bad endings, fewer quests/interactions, and have you miss strong loot for picking evil options. I still remember seeing kotor discussions online and thinking "???" because I killed fallen apprentice on Dantooine and went straight to murdering the sand people (so skipped the translator droid), meaning I completely missed both Juhani and HK

depends on the RPG but if its "open-world" i try to disable fasttravel via console or get a mod that does that.

Makes every open-world RPG like 50% better instantly
>>
>>3916365
Open world is shit because it makes you waste your time walking between the interesting parts instead of just having a game that's only those. That's why you have to mod the game to force yourself not to use fast travel.
>>
>>3916365
>get a mod
When you're ready, you won't have to
>>
>>3916350
Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark seems to be an exception to this. There were some really cool armor pieces for sale that were available only for evil people
>>
>>3907580
Only allowed to play bearded men with longswords
