why should I be excited for this again? is it adding anything new, instead of only subtracting?

Apparently Kiefer returns at some point after leaving your party.
But beyond that it seems like they just made everything shorter and faster.

Aishe wears shorts now, for one.

Who the fuck used the casino anyway. Plus, dq7 NEEDED to be cut on some parts. I played both the OG and the 3ds versions and in both I eventually grew bored out of my mind from how little the actual story was moving forward.

New content, lots of new players-specific vocations and you unlock non-job costumes instead, which is a shit change. The voracious monsters or whatever they're called were tougher than anything in the 3Ds version of the game as well, so at least it'll be more engaging.

Recently got the urge to play VII and tried the demo, ended up also trying the ps1 version. The new version has quest markers, visible sparkles for the hidden items and a lot of handholding: opening the shrine is easier, faster and the game always seem to tell you clearly what to do, there is no "exploring to figure things out", which is something I really like.
Is there any hope for an official setting or at least a mod that removes all markers? Right now I'm playing the ps1 version but i really like the style and orchestral music of the 3ds remake and Reimagined.

>there's an option to turn off objective markers
You can turn off markers but only on the map screen and minimap. You still see big exclamation points on quest related places and people when you walk around places, even in the overworld

Planning to play the demo at some point. I beat the ps1 and the 3ds version because I'm an old fuck.
>no job costumes
Bummed out, thought they were a nice touch in the 3ds
>cut content
Hate this change. I fully understand that there are long segments of play before players get new plot leads, and I for one think it was fine to leave as is. Taking away entire areas to speed up gameplay? For what purpose. If we want to get into the weeds, the main antagonist was a very minor part of the story;it was all about the descendants of God.
>no casino
I actually hate the casino stuff in the DQ franchise so I'm fine with it, but I feel for the people that like it (probably most)
>censored the hot females
I'm neutral on this and I felt it was expected since dq3 was released with censorship, but from what I've seen thus far the censorship seems very minimal.

Yep, some retards in Europe decided to mix what some games do with real money and having a casino in a videogame and now gambling with virtual videogame money makes it 18+.
Which is retarded because cheating in Pokemon in the casino by reloading every time I wasn't winning is the reason I understood gambling with real money isn't smart.

They took out three places, made 4 optional and added new content such as an alternate ending in ballymolloy and entirely new scenarios featuring the parry members such as Older Kiefer. Furthermore, Aishe/Aira joins significantly earlier, so more than half of the game will be different to account for her existence in the party.

Investors always say that no matter what because they're a bunch of leeches whose entire lifestyle is based on expecting their money to earn them more money than last year, infinitely, forever, without them ever having to do a goddamn thing. "Investing" is basically just gibs for rich white people.

Modern devs are too afraid ipad zoomers will immediately lose interest and switch to other thing as soon as they can't figure something out sorry. They have zero faith that their game will be able to keep a zoomer's interest

The remake artstyle is so fucking weird and shit because they insisted on adding these "realistic" facial features to an anime style and making their heads bigger resulting the characters looking either like disproportionate bobbleheads and those weird porcelain dolls some old people collect

>Investors always say that no matter what
Not only they have (one of) the biggest share in SE. Then they went above and beyond with a very detailed paper on what could be done.
So no Square is doing like shit. Trust them more than square at this point.

>bro, trust the people who want free profit to tell a video game company how to make video games!
At that point, they might as well just let retards on the internet make all the choices, lmao.

Investors are basically fat, lazy housewives who endlessly complain that their husband doesn't make enough money while they sit on their ass all day. Appealing to their stance is pretty fucking pathetic. Get a job, maybe?

Certainly better than the fucking bobbleheads the remake is doing. They didn't even bother to animate most of the dialogue, they just made the camera at that birds eye angle like the 3ds and sprite version did rather than actually improve the scenes. Fuck this "remake"

> I feel for the people that like casino stuff (probably most)
the majority of casinos in dragon quest games are just annoying time wasters to filter out people who didn't want to grind for endgame gear. I much preferred the mini casino games like the card matching, which actually had immediate effects on the gameplay.

The overall pace of the game seems much faster, though I haven't played 7 since the original release, so I my memory on the story pacing might be off. I do like Aishe joining earlier since it means I don't have to spend a bunch of extra time leveling vocations even if moonlighting makes vocation levelling so damned easy. I just got done with the Gracos V fight and everyone, barring Maribel, has 4 vocations mastered without me even going out of my way to level them. Only reason Maribel is behind is because I kept her as a Priestess for heals while moonlighting Mage since Gabo and Fishmonger were leveling physical vocations.
You also get Mervyn not too long after Aishe joins up.
>>
>>
>>3921284
from what I remember you can start working towards getting Mervyn after completing Dharma/Alltrades questline but it takes a bit of back and forth before hes available. Aishe wasn't available until disc2 iirc? When do you get her now?
>just completed alltrades last night, did a little class grinding before bed

I'll admit the original was an acquired taste, but holy fuck, just from the demo you can see how they butchered the game. The sole guys I know that were excited for it are the average boomers that would slurp even shit as long it was branded with the Squeenix logo, niggas are trying their hardest to convince themselves this is the second coming of Christ.
Seems like another flop from sales perspective.
>>
>>
>>3921735
You get to run two jobs at once, so mastery is faster and there are more valid sidegrades compared to beelining Paladin/Sage/Champ/Druid/Hero. The original inheritance would kind of defeat the purpose of the moonlighting mechanic.
>>
>>
>>3921720
You get Aishe after the desert island. Once you do your revisit in the present and take care of the queen's request, you'll be able to pick her up. Then, once you're on your way to the fragment table to go to the next island, you'll unlock moonlighting.
